  • this is really cool, i want to try this

also, any clue what the song is? it's really catchy

  • fuck tha music'

  • That should be a a great investment in a homeowners priorities.when the black out hits your all set.I would have more power than that.but thats a excellent demo of how simple it is and a fun challenge we can all strive for.power is taken for granted .

we all need back up systems for emergency situations with batteries

  • I have no idea what happened at the end..because when I heard the

stupid sound track, instead of just basic information on how to do this..

    I clicked the movie off....so lame...sigh.,

  • Cool, very resourceful! I love LED's

White Led's have a higher forward voltage than say, red ones. but using a current limiting resister is always a good idea, or a zener diode to clamp the voltage.

With small LED arrays, you can charge one of them big car audio capacitors and use it much like a battery, although a battery may be cheaper.

    Good stuff man, thanks

  • The music is hilarious. What group is that? This is one of the best use of the LED light. Can you post the parts list ? The video runs kind of fast so it's difficult to keep up. Thanks very much.

    Paul from NY

  • Paul, I don't know the band. It was a piece of public domain music I picked up years ago. I'll put together a parts list.

  • Thanks. After a month the (outside) cables I made for the house didn't weather very well. I ended up cutting the cables off the included lights and used them between the panel and the house attic. It's been running perfect. It's been very popular with visitors. In the shed, I just used the lights. Many months later it is still running with no problems.

  • @magic76767676 : Where can I get a parts list with instructions? I want to try this in Guatemala, where I live part time. Wonderful idea. People actually live in sheds there and can't afford electricity. CatherineTodd2 at gmail

  • never thought about doing something like in my attic
