I started teaching him when he was 22 months or so. We used the "Your Baby Can Read" videos as well as "fleschcards" (search Google for this). I also think reading a lot to him made a huge difference (as you can see, we have lots of children's books). The first step is to learn ABCs; then learn the sounds of the letters; then try putting some simple CVC words together with refrigerator magnets. Then you can start on those flash cards. Anyway, that's how WE did it...
Great job helping your son. My daughter is 1 year 8 months and can read about 100 words but I don't think she is understanding phonics yet so she can't read words not memorized. When did your son start to understand phonics? I have been using your baby can read and some Doman methods. Thanks for your videos!
He is a very smart kid. Obviously he didn't memorized. Congradulations
