lol. normal collars dont take two.. i guarentee you anyone can apply w/ one hand..lol. nice trying selling point though. the real factor is does it keep the head in neutral alignment..does it prevent extension of the arteries to prevent further c-spine injury or vascular comprimise..thats should be your selling point..not how fast it can be applied..and no offence i can apply a collar..any collar in less than 30
ear comprimised..lol. its that really purtident at the emt stage.. more complex than your typical stiff collar..time is essence on the field..and posterior aspect of x-collar appears to flexible.. put x-collar on supine for video..as you say real time..
@tinkerchick83 AT 1:05 a timer displays how the XCollar can be applied in under 30 seconds, and does not require more than one rescue personnel to be applied, whereas other collars require a minimum of two (one the hold the head in the in-line neutral position, and one to apply the device). This saves even more time in the field because it frees up an extra person to be assessing and treating other patients.
