Simple reason (as a marketing guy) is that America needs its heros and its always been more "Focal Point" in terms of band wise. So American market concentrates more on the lead singer than the rest of the band.
That's also a reason why so many people like it but I understand what you are saying. Muse is a great band as a whole it isn't just Matt who makes the band so great it's Chris and Dom as well and they should be featured just as much. Matt is still incredible and I have no problem with seeing this version although I don't understand why they need to have different versions in the first place. I wish they would come to the U.S. again.
@siik9 i agree, its a shame that so many music videos for so many different bands almost entirely feature the frontman, it takes more than one person to make an amazing band.
I like this video better than trying to explain to my parents why I'm watching a music video with women stripping.
