@idedesign we used a clapper more as a slate -to identify the scene/shot/take numbers which proves very helpful in the edit and I cannot recommend this enough on any shoot as it speeds up the edit tenfold. It is of course not necessary to 'clap' it if sound is being recorded direct to camera, however there were several times when we had to separate the sound in post and so the clap became a logical synchronisation point. Not to mention that when holding a clapperboard it comes naturally,,,,
that was quick! video hasn't even finished being processed yet! HD version should be ready soon. Kieron's beer was actually flat/room temperature by the time he got to properly drink it (about 4 takes from memory)...which we let him do even though there were all the remaining PTCs to do... look out for an even more happy Kieron in later episodes!
why are you using a clapper if you're recoding sound direct to camera?

When serving a pint you don't dip the nossel into the beer that's nasty

This is a great series. I'm hoping to do my own feature later this year, and this has helped a lot.

That's a nice gig for Keiron, starting the shot sipping from a pint - how many takes? ;)
Great technical info BTW
