She did not have add all the unnecessary notes, unless it was spot on and with out being ear splitting. also i think she said skylight vs. twilight and fight not flight.

Listen here: What Patti does is called musical improvisation (scatting) and very few singers can do it properly. You have to have a incredible musical ear and choose your notes on the spot. As far as I am concerned there is only Patti and Aretha that does justice.Both singers has phenomenal control over breath, vibrato and placement. Mannerism becomes part of a singers style. You either like it or you don't. There will never be another Patti.
