the stereotype outsiders have about guatemala is a good one, they have a good perception because they know about the mayas...their central place is located there in guatemala, even though there are some mayans in mexico, el salvador and honduras...they main ruis are in guatelinda...

I agree, its a good one. However, from past experiences I came across some mexicans who thought Guatemalans were all a bunch of uneducated mayans(negative stereotype). Not necessarily true. We have blacks, brown & light skinned (generally hispanics) and our mayan indian culture. Each and everyone of these backgrounds consist of uneducated and educated people. And yes I know our neighboring countries consist of mayans and other forms of indian cultures.

Well, the guatemalan indias are uneducated people (most of them) but mexicans aztecs are also uneducated people (most of them) so we're like the same, there's everything in each country..
