Top wires a "sky wire" its basically just there for lightning strikes, some of them have fiber optic cable inside of them.. no neutrals on towers just your 3 phases
Give me a break Linemen make almost twice as much as helicopter pilots I have friends who are linemen and I am a pilot so we've compared notes on this subject.
@plumber97 Actually, if your a pilot for another helicopter company then yes, the lineman probably do make more money than you, but if you were a pilot for ontario hydro, you would be making about 25% more.
im a lineman..our pilots make more, they should as the experience they need is crazy, a lineman can make well over 100 grand with a bunch of OT, but i know our pilots hit the 150 mark..
pilots for hydro one make very good coin for hydro one..$150G a year ish..they need alot of time behind the stick to get on..need at least 5000 long line hours alone..
this is awesome work !!...but then again, I'm one of those people who like a little bit of excitement and risk in my daily paycheck..lol...my video is also attached..feel free to check it out...
definantly insulator testing... the long yellow bag the one guy has is the one with the sticks.... there just getting back on the air stairs at the sky-wire after finishing
Just kidding man!, i hate paid sex!, besides, if you really work as lineman, shit, you got balls!, i cant even go to my roof and repair the satellite dish.
wasn't us guys it was ontario hydro. THEY would scale the tower to all points where the wires are attached, run a pole with a loop on it top to bottom of the "INSULATOR?". I would respect your comments cusw lineman
i was more being sarcastic. Insulator testing is used with sticks and wouldnt really be practical using a helicopter. If anything they are just repairing the bonds to the towers on the shield wire which were burned off from lightning strikes.
i know its hydro one linemen. I am a hydro one linemen as well doing tower work all the time, but we scale the towers usually. Cusw is just our union not as good as the PWU. However they could be insulator testing. Wonder why they dont just use a bronto

They use the helo's whenever the location is not accessible by roads, and ironically the pilot gets paid more than the linemen.

@SuperKevrock no they dont
