@LCAmarkymark I think McKayla Maroney had the best Amanar as she stuck it at nationals last year but I think Fei's vault in 2005 is still better than Wiebers.
@liukin95 Is McKayla still competing? I thought she was out. Im glad to here she is still around. Fei's vault was great but for current gymnast Weiber's vault at the America's Cup was pretty great...the only event I liked from her lol
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 The envelope for gymnastics just keeps getting pushed! It's great. I know I'm in the minority, but the new scoring system helps it.
@Junon999 Haha, yeah. I understand the new scoring system well but Nadia Comaneci once said something I found beautiful. "It's so hard to define sports like ours and we had something unique. The 10, it was ours first and now you give it away." This was what gymnastics was about. Perfection. And now it's not.
People please, FOCUS! It is not just about sticking the landings, please pay atention to the form, for instance check how long Cheng Fei waits before start twisting, and her impecable form while she's in the air.
@slavaro1992 Well? Please. Sure she's a fabulous gymnast, but her execution on any power event is terrible. Her legs look helicopters because her feet are crossed more than Kristen Maloney's and her knees are bent. And that's nothing to say of her pre-flight form! Jordyn's is technically flawless, but Makayla Moroney takes 1st in my opinion. She makes it look so easy! And she can stick it.
@KaeslinFan she was trying to do a triple twisting yurchenko if u can believe it! pretty much she and her coach are just trying to get the move completed so they can make history, i dont think they really care if its clean. it was really ugly :(
You know... there's a video of Simona Amanar performing an Amanar at the 2000 Europeans Podium Training, and she landed it pretty well, but she didn't compete it.
You can see it if you type ''Named Skills Montage''
Never saw that one :). Here I as thinking Zamolodchikova did the best Amanar on the old horse. Well, she did compete the best Amanar on the old horse.
I agree with your #1 pick but I think Jade (#4) should have been #2 - it was sooooo good! Rosu's was really great too, I think those would be my top 3! :)
Definitely agree with #1, in fact the top 3 were really really good. But I think Rosu could have been bumped up just a coupe from where she was, I loved watching it it was like this slow evolution of a vault gradually improving each time you see it. Well done

Sad that those are the best examples of that vault and still most of them have really ugly landings.

i find it amusing that none of them were amanar herself!

Wow, look at the height Monica Rosu gave that vault!!

I think 1&2 should be switched; its a hard choice but I feel like her Beijing EF one ahd much better form and just looked better in general.
And I just wanted to point out that on #15 I think it's ridiculous how cheng was only credited for doing a double on that vault!

next Gymanst to do an amanar is:
Tatyiana Nabyeva of Russia
she performed it at the Japan Cup.
It was horrific.
