The irony, of course, is that Smoke on the Water is a very simple song that was the first song many of us (older guitar players) ever learned. Leave it to Andy to put the most simplistic right smack in the middle of the most complex. It definitely catches you leaning. ; )
I also like the way he took lemons (a song that didn`t do so well in competition) and made lemonade (a show stopper).
