@Tangibl3Fish Well, any AEG has a risk of stripping the piston. The blowback unit is piston driven, so the risk is higher than a normal AEG, but the piston stayed intact while I had the gun.
@booligan1985 Thank you. I needed to know this because I ordered a EACustom handguard & toprail set at eHobby Asia for 20 $. It resembles the one on the CYMA, the problem though that the gas tube is too small to accomodate a stick battery (and probably a 7.4 nunchuk lipo). The lower handguard also is made to TM bodies' spec, and needs to be modded to fit a VFC type lower receiver.
@Coolmans24 Yes, you can remove the stock if you wanted to. The battery would depend on the experience of the user, but overall, I'd recommend a small 11.1v stick lipo.
@RiseOfThePanda@RiseOfThePanda mine doesn't work good, altho not quite broken... doesn't move foward all the way, never seen any1 else have this problem... did u get it from shortys?
@CommanderMick i bought this gun and i guess, that umm for me,i had another ak b4 so i had other mags,i tried on the JG mag(the one that came with my other JG AK) and a TM mag, they both kinda fit the gun but it just takes some time to get used to putting them in coz the mag is a lil smaller or something so if u dont put them in well, they'll like come back out from the front while the back is still locked in.
Have this gun, it's my first stamped steel ak. I want to replace the stock, but I am having trouple comprehending the exploded diagram; it seems geometrically different than anverage TM AK. Any chance you'd post a disassembly video?
It's not a TM style stock mount, it's VFC style. I'd search around for a VFC teardown, which should point you in the right direction. I actually haven't pulled my stock off, as I haven't needed to, but I can look at it and see what I can figure out.
As it is a metal body I doubt the gun itself will take physical damage.
The only thing is the dust-cover wearing slightly on the piston - but usually these dust-covers are intentionally extra light. I highly doubt the blowback feature itself will wear your gun down faster than any other.
With a 9.6v, your rate of fire will go up, but that's about it. As for good chargers, I use a Kong Power KP50W smart one, mainly because it charges my LiPo batteries and NiMH/NiCD ones as well, and does a damn good job at doing it too.
It comes with an M120-M130 equivalent spring, shooting in the 400+ FPS range. It does use a basically standard V3 gearbox, so it can be upgraded however you want.

How do you like the stock? Is it uncomfortable compared to a regular AK stock?
jayheuk 3 months ago
@jayheuk I actually prefer the wire stock in most cases.

what battery are you using? the stock 8.4V? if not, any idea what the ROF is with a 9.6V? mainly concerned with trigger response.

Is the stock removable? And what kind of battery would you recommend for it?

also do you recommend this gun?
oldschoolcommy 9 months ago
@oldschoolcommy I loved it when I had it. It's a great AEG.
booligan1985 9 months ago
@booligan1985 thanks for the recommendation, once I get the one I really want to get this ak.
oldschoolcommy 9 months ago
can you take the top rail off of the gun?
oldschoolcommy 9 months ago
@oldschoolcommy You would need to replace the whole gas tube assembly if you do, as the rail is built in to the gas tube.

@booligan1985 i feared that it was. Thanks for the info man.

How far do you have to take it down to get to the point where blow back can be disabled?
MuktownSniper 2 years ago
Not too far, just enough to remove the linkage bar. Check out my review on Airsoft Retreat for detailed pics.
booligan1985 2 years ago
@booligan1985 Umm, I went to the site and just seeing the disasembled blowback isnt enought to know how to take it out.
Thoraxtheassasin 1 year ago
@booligan1985 Doesn't the blow back gradually damages the gun? from all its shaking.

hi i am getting this gun and it says it is comming with a standard 8.v battery.
if i upgrade to a 9.6v battery what noticable changes will i see. and what is the names of some top airsoft chargers?
thanks

what happens if i hold the bolt while i am firing?
Xboxfreaky1994 2 years ago
Don't do it. You'll likely strip the teeth on your piston.
booligan1985 2 years ago
ok ill leave the battery at 8.4v
it is coming with a m100 spring in can these bee upgraded and what is the max?
thanks
snake786123 2 years ago
It comes with an M120-M130 equivalent spring, shooting in the 400+ FPS range. It does use a basically standard V3 gearbox, so it can be upgraded however you want.
