Building a track with Live Intro - Part 1/6

Hello, I've got Ableton as a free trial just playing around with it. I am in session view and having some problems creating my own MIDI clips within a track. I have named a MIDI track "beats" and created one midi clip with backroom drum, under instruments. If I go to create a different beat with a different instrument under that same MIDI track, it changes my old clip to the tune/sound of the newly selected instrument. How can i use different instruments within a MIDI track? Thanks

Can you import sounds that you've recorded from a mix desk?

why not just delete the midi track, so you don't have to move them everytime you enter one in...

so all those folders with the loops and what not that you are using, they all come with live intro, right out of the box?

@TheProjectMusicc  - you can follow the instructions written in the files of the DVD that it should come with your Mustang... You need a bit of patience but you can do it!

@TheKon1 Hi, the samples used in this video come with Live Intro.

@TheKon1 If you bought the box, there is a cd that says "Content Disc" on it. That's where all these samples are

when i put my .wav file into a song to play with it. it sets a tempo for it and speeds it up/slows it down in certain sections. how do i put the .wav file in without altering it at all??

@TwiggyUND23 you'll want to turn off warping for the sample, or re-warp the sample so that it fits better with what you're looking for.

the folder is on the content disk that came with your copy of ableton live i believe

Even though I own the Full version of Live, I want to benefit from this tutorial. I couldn't find these samples at the Ableton website, so I downloaded Live Intro trial. Ack, it wanted to overwrite my Full Live installation, I caught that and renamed the folder, but it still nuked my start menu shortcuts. Anyway, still don't have the sample content being demo'd in the video. How do I get it that content? Why did they make a video that people can't follow along exactly? argh.

cant get the live into sounds folder .... i only have 3 folders in SAMPLES .... how do i get the Live Intro Sounds by Loopmaster in the trial version ?

Thanks Floodermonkey. You are correct. All samples reside in this folder with Live Intro.

@AbletonInc I don't have these samples either, but I'm using the trial. I think that's where everyone has issues. I guess the trial doesn't have all the files that Live Intro has. Could you tell me if that's true?...

i found out where he gets, look at the left part in the menu where is highlighted and click on it, and the samples will appear
