  • ohhh and as for " oldest book" the bible as " you know it" is the king James bible of 1611, which was the old testament aka the Torah with lots of psalms etc added on, like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. All of which were written considerably after the fact through hear say and story telling. You are as likely to find the "way" by leading your life through the hobbit or alternitivly the Egyptians worshipped the sun which gave heat, light and life to crops. MORE honest than a god

  • I used to be an atheist, and decided to follow the bible, and decided that genocide, infanticide racism, slavery, child brides, incest, prostitution etc was too moral for me .... I then took a second look and the chosen people of the Jews were persecuted by Christianity since the beginning of the new testament. hmmm I think that Atheism is more "godly" than religion

  • I’ve read the bible cover to cover.I can tell you that your bible is a load of rot, your god is a bloodthirsty jerk. There is ZERO evidence at the time of jesus or even soon after. With earthquakes, zombies, mass murder of male children, feeding of multitudes, not to mention rising from the dead (many more) and not one word from one the many historians of the time. With one of the most recorded times of the bronzed age and not one of the historians can place any part of the Christ story NOT ONE

  • this guy is just out to make money.

  • Let's see, how to comment without blaspheming the name of God, lest ye olde sanctimonious gatekeepers bar me from the path to heaven.

    Went to Catholic School.

Read the entire Holy Bible more than once.

Laughed my way through most of it.

Realized the morality contained within was pathetic and stunted.

Studied the manufacture and writing of the Bible.

Realized it was all a sham.

Went on with life studying things as opposed to blindly believing what a contradictory book would tell me is truth.

  • "Many Atheists claim that there is no Evidence for God".

No kidding.. I am in fact claiming it right now.

Please do be the first person in History to actually provide it instead of just talking incessantly about it.. should be a snap as it's apparently so "overwhelming".

Your response, however lengthy and impassioned, will of course contain not a shred, not one iota of actual Evidence. Simply asking for it will always cause you to fall apart faster than a soup sandwich.

    So go nuts.

  • The bible made me an atheist.(ok, not only this primitive book, also of a lot evidences against the existence of a creator).

  • @LowresTV The Bible didn't make you atheist, atheism is a result of a rebellious and wicked heart. Also, the fact that the Bible is ancient does not take away from it's truthfulness.

  • @fellowservant34 wicked is the doctrine you follow and your mind. It is true, it wasnt ONLY the bible. It was logic and common sense that made me an happy anti-theist.

  • @fellowservant34

//atheism is a result of a rebellious and wicked heart//

really/ and your proof for this would be? something tells me you have as much proof for this statement as ANYONE has for the existence of their chosen 'god'. and you are correct, it is not the fact that the bible is ancient that takes away from it's truthfulness, it's the fact that much of it is bullshit that does. for instance, the fact that the great flood and the exodus never happened are 2 great examples.

  • @fellowservant34 The fact that it's ancient also doesn't ADD to it's truthfulness. Just sayin'.

  • This is ridiculous. I love how they never really showed the "proofs" of a god but just said the bible is right. Ridiculous.

  • @luisdez81 What "proofs" exactly were you you looking for? These are called personal testimonies, but if all you heard was, "the Bible is right." then maybe you should listen more carefully.

  • *if i TOLD you i could fly...sorry, it's late

  • im sorry to say this guy is clearly a fraud, out to get money with his "conversion" book and interviews.

he did NO research, The bibles history is foggy and mostly inaccurate, small parts are true ,most has been proven false.

provable prophesies? they have been proven NOT to be prophesies but to be written AFTER the events.

This gut is a fraud, hes out to make money. he did NOT study what he said, its quite apparent.

I would be happy to debate CIVILY any "evidence" any theist brings forward.

  • Amazing testmony of the athiest finding God amen!

  • Isn't religion something to believe in? Why do people try to prove there is no God. Atheists BELIEVE there is none. Christians BELIEVE there is one. It doesen't need to be proved. It's impossible.

  • @Shyreenify You are confusing "DISBELIEF" and "BELIEF", and the requirements of proof. Consider one person who believes that Atlantis was a real place, and another person who disbelieves in Atlantis. The disbelieving person requires no proof to support disbelief. We all disbelieve in many things without proof, such as Zeus and leprechauns. Disbelieving in the magical or supernatural requires no proof. Believing in the magical or supernatural requires proof (or superstition/faith).

  • This is an awesome video -- thanks for uploading!

  • I've read the Bible over 5 times now. Every time I read it, it became more and more evident to me that this was just a book and mythical. All the so called evidence is just not there. The person in the video is speaking in absolutes. Something no good scientist does. Any statitician can work the numbers in their favor, no matter how illogical it may be. It sounds like this man is doing the same. Throwing numbers around in an attempt to sound studious.

  • @hanabahn If your heart is not right and fertile, you can read the Bible 500 times and it won't make a difference.

  • @fellowservant34 If one reads the bible with a clear, open and logical mind, the conclusion will be that it is a book of legends. If ones mind is "fertile" for superstition and the supernatural, then you may believe it. Though, in that state, you may read the quran or other texts and believe them instead.

  • @fellowservant34 or if y ou are a regular Christian you can read the bible ZERO times and still think you are right. its quite insulting to suggest that someone else doesn't understand it simply because they dont believe it. VERY insulting and rude. why dont you go and read the Quran and see if the followers say the same to you?

the fact is any intelligent person can reject a religion, it does not mean we dont understand it, it means we understand it MORE than you. that is why its rejected.

  • @theUKatheist When you touched satan for the first time did it make you support gay butt sex because satan said so?

  • @PrinceFelipe yes, your mum was better though. she liked butt sex too,

  • @theUKatheist So your saying you are going to rape my mother. Well then you will get extra punishement in hell for your lust for rape.

  • @PrinceFelipe who said anything about rape? she gave it willingly.

  • @theUKatheist You said you are going to try to rape my mother. Thats means you are a rapist and advocate rape. How many other women have you tried to rape? You might get away with rape in your lifetime, but God will make you pay in hell for your love of rape.

  • @PrinceFelipe man you're fucking dumb, or just dishonest.

"You said you are going to try to rape my mother"

no i said "your mum was better though. she liked butt sex too"

where in this does it say rape you fucking moron, this means she willingly wanted sex and she had it up the arse WILLINGLY. dipshit. that is not rape.

"How many other women have you tried to rape?"

are you actually being serious? are you really that retarded you couldnt tell it was a joke?

    are you on medication? dumbass!!

  • @PrinceFelipe continued.

if you're being serious that means YOUR initial comment was serious which is fucking retarded.

i refuse to think someone is actually as stupid as you, are you a troll or retard?

im calling you out on being a troll because no one is as stupid as your making out to be,.

" When you touched satan for the first time did it make you support gay butt sex because satan said so?"

REALLY? haha and you cant spot a joke, you are fucking retarded!!

troll or retard? which are you?

  • @theUKatheist My mother laughed when she saw your post, as she never agreed to have sex with you, so that makes you a rapist at heart when you try to say she willingly had sex with you. You love rape and you are going to burn in hell for serving satan.

  • @PrinceFelipe "she never agreed to have sex with you, so that makes you a rapist"

no it makes me a lier haha, how does NOT HAVING SEX with her make me a rapist? seriously your a fucking retard!

"You love rape and you are going to burn in hell for serving satan."

haha i sorry i just cant take you seriously any more, you are a fucking MORON! you are actually too stupid to realise a joke and you actually believe in the devil.

i have decided you are both a troll and a retard so goodbye idiot

  • @theUKatheist Claiming somone had sex with you that did not consent to it makes you a rapist.

  • @PrinceFelipe so if i think about having a lot of money that makes me rich? IDIOT!

you are talking about thought crime you strange child. the fact you replied to this bullshit means you thought about my thought crime which means you raped your mother too.

now you are a rapist and of your own mother, raping and incest, you're SICK!

thinking something doesn't make it real, are you on medication?

even though i dont hink hell exists i welcome it over spending eternity with retards like you.

  • @theUKatheist When you touched satan genitals for the first time is that when you decided you wanted to spend eternity in hell with him mr rapist? If you don't want to be called a rapist then stop claiming you had sex with people who have not consented to it.

  • @PrinceFelipe Haha, you're not being serious? no one is that stupid, you are DEFINITELY going on my troll of the month video, it will be up tomorrow or the day after. You win hands down, your comments are gold. Its like you have the brain if a retarded child..

I didn't claim what you said, it was a joke you freak. Please continue replying its top stuff for my troll video, you will get me lots of views! thank you! Keep commenting Mr troll retard incest mother raping thought crime guy :-)

  • @hanabahn The Bible is not meant for everyone to understand, especially if you are not following the commandments but you should know that if you read the Bible completely 5 times. But you could very well fall under Isaiah 29:10 For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

  • Working as an engineer,I know many former christians, and have never met a former atheist.

There are several people that claim to be "former atheist", but most do so to write a book.

It is a mystery on why muncaster claims to have lost faith due to logical thought, then gained it back due to a prophecies. good thing he didn't read nostradamus during that time ...

Understaning atheism only requires honestly asking a few questions...what is heaven for?...Does the god vs devil sound like reality?

  • @owenright When you ask the question, "does the god vs devil sound like reality?" You show the naturalistic box you've made in your mind that God must fit in, or else.

  • @fellowservant34 You are correct, I have a box in my mind where I relate to the natural world I as understand it based on the information known to me. That box is called reality. Yes, God is outside of that box.

  • @fellowservant34 You need to stop undermining atheists as if you somehow understand more than we do. you dont. its fact that the more intelligent you become the less religious you are. your attitude to your comments is absolutely disgusting.

all you do is assert the things you say, you give no proof and think you are right. instead of being the self righteous snob that you are being why not do what a civil intelligent person would do and discus is providing evidence of your assertions?

  • @fellowservant34

//You show the naturalistic box you've made in your mind that God must fit in, or else//

yes, excuse us for being rational and expecting a 'god' to be logical. if i told you i actually had a god in a box, would you believe me? why or why not?

  • @owenright - I was an atheist, raised in the Church and unable to make that jump into faith. Church was just another school to me; a social club, something most of our family did. Once I graduated school I graduated from Church and began, as many do, to experiment with my freedom. Unfortunately, as the years passed, so too passed my innocence. God contacted me, for loss of a better explanation and completely out of the blue, those Bible passages began to make sense. There is genius in the Word.

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1

Sounds like you were looking for faith, and eventually found it.

An atheist does not believe in god(s) because there is no evidence.

You said "God contacted me". How? voices in your head, thoughts in your head, email, written note?

  • @owenright - atheists do give a place of deity to "gods"; unfortunately, these gods are packaged in flesh and bone with the trappings of money, influence and power.

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1 Yes, people have been "worshiping" money and/or possessions long before the Yahweh god was worshiped. Though greed is not a god, as much as you would like to equate it with something supernatural. And greed is independent of religion. Or are you saying that atheists are statistically more greedy than theists?

  • @owenright - One would have to have greater insight into human motivation than a poll or marketing survey to ascertain whether belief in a deity, or lack thereof, has any ethological correlation with greed. Greed, like Strife or Pride is a socio-incorporeal, or spiritual "mindset". Survival requires a degree of selfishness, but Greed is an extreme not born of mere necessity. Disagreement between individuals is bound to happen, yet Strife goes beyond the bounds to initiate unnecessary anger.

  • If you actually meet Jesus, live with Him, and do what He tells you for even a few months, then your testimony will be so convincing that atheists will either avoid you or begin to doubt their own position. The hour is coming and now is when "Christians" who have not met Messiah Jesus will be unable to continue to pretend they believe, although they may continue to claim they are Christians. And they will be the chief persecutors of those who know and follow Jesus, the Anointed King of Israel.

  • How about Bart Ehrman? Bible studies led him from Christianity to Agnosticism.

  • I also strongly believe people choose to be unbelievers because it would conflict with their current lifestyle. They are having too much fun!!! Before you go spewing your dislike for those that do believe, maybe you should learn alittle about what you're talking about first. I believe it's called "ignorance" otherwise.

  • Well, for those that think that all of this is made up and don't believe in anything except what they know right now..........good luck to you when your time comes. In the bible Jesus said that there will be many who will say, "My Lord! My Lord! I know you!" in response he will say, "I do not know you." Tough time to learn you made a mistake. I hear many people argue about the bible and few that really know much about it.

  • The issue that always seems to ellude rational people is that although they are very smart people, how can they even come close to understanding the awesome power of God? At some time, when do they rationalize, "If there is a creator, what makes me think that I am even close to the intellect and understanding of that being? It would be like comparing the intellect and understanding of a bacteria to that of humans. That is a rational thought. Not enough weight is given to the unknown.

  • I read the whole bible all the way through. Some parts more than once. Hell, I read Revelations several times because it's just so cool. However reading the bible had something to do with me becoming an atheist.

Not to mention, I am VERY skeptical of these so called "former atheists". Frequently when they say "I was an atheist" they mean "I didn't care about my religion or take it seriously".

  • @sonnygll I admit the title may be a little misleading, but just because someone reads the Bible, goes to church, hears a sermon, ect. does not mean they will become a believer. Jesus said, "my sheep hear my voice, and they know me and will follow me." There are only two types of people in the world, those who respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and those who don't.

  • @sonnygll - As a former atheist, I can say my beliefs prior to my atheism were socially-centered; when an atheist, my beliefs were self-centered; following my comprehension of God, they became God-centered. Of the three stages of my belief, being God-centered is the ultimate best, hands-down, no competition.

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1

I am VERY skeptical of the term "former atheist". Usually upon speaking further, the person says they weren't really following the religion, or started with a religion they consider bad and were born again, or rebelled against parents and that sort of thing. Or they were "mad at god". I have yet to hear anyone genuinely not believing in gods, and then finding something convincing.

  • @sonnygll - From my perspective, the religious trappings of my upbringing were viewed much the same as a 5th grader moans about the necessity of taking Latin classes. I couldn't understand how it was a useful endeavorand I couldn't comprehend any of it. I respected the family's involvement with religious things and did not try to change their minds. What I did slowly recognize however, was their attitude about life was 1000% more focused and their successes were more consistent. No neurotics!

  • @ETHIOLOGIST1

I see. That definitely makes sense. I didn't like it as a kid either. I did end up being somewhat religious in my later teens though. More than when I was younger anyway. My first bit of free thinking on the topic was when I rejected Catholicism at 16, due to it not following the bible very well. I was a sort of nondenominational at that point. I was kind of religious until I was about 20 or so.

  • Its so Hollywood (meets this jesus freak supplier, crying with the shower) i just can't quite believe it :P

  • @urbanmonk95 If you had a real encounter with the living God you would break down also...In fact, how could you expect an encounter with God to be anthing less than dramatic?

  • just out of curiosity- why do so many atheists try to 'convert' people of spiritual beliefs over to atheism?

  • @blackoutninja Evangelical atheist's like Richard Dawkins are very ambitious these days. Unlike atheist's of the past, their ultimate goal is to win converts over to their religious viewpoint with the specific intention of demolishing belief in God and creating a purely secular society.

  • @fellowservant34 hmm. that confuses me- you can still have a secular government (I.E. separate church & state) in a society with religion in it. what i don't understand is how they think it benefits them, or even the people they try to convert?

  • @fellowservant34

"Evangelical atheist's like Richard Dawkins" is a bold statement - born of abject ignorance.

Richard Dawkins has NO religious viewpoint.

He has no religious addendum - he couldn't give a fiddler's fuck how nut-jobs like you care to delude yourselves.

  • @fellowservant34 - Every spiritual ideology garners its strength from its followers. There is a spiritual component to those who love red hair-- they all share the same adoration of auburn tresses. When men make their claim to fame, fads flourish because people want to share and be included with like-minded concepts. Criminal minds share spiritual concepts via their crimes, atheists share their love for science and logic and self-sufficiency. The atheist ideology ultimately hinges on control.

  • @blackoutninja I believe its because they feel alone inside, and they feel if more people believed what they did, it would compensate for something, they don't WANT to believe in God. The want to live teh way they want to. Without God in their life they feel alone and they feel if God wasn't real and if everyone would believe it, they wouldn't feel so bad about being an atheist. When you search your self deeply, you'll realize why you do what you do. There is a reason behind everything.

  • @BIGDADDYDUKE2 interesting.. good thoughts :)

  • @BIGDADDYDUKE2 You missed your calling. You should become a fortune teller. I bet you never saw an atheist in your life.

  • @tallliza think so? And its seen not saw.

  • @blackoutninja as a former evangelical Christian, now atheist, I can tell you that Atheists do not in general try to convert people. Have you been approached on the sidewalk by an evangelical atheist? Have you seen an atheist soap box preacher? Atheists usually would just like people to really examine the logic and reasons behind supernatural belief. Questioning religion and superstition should not seem antagonistic.

  • @owenright good point.

  • Funny that in my 2 years of investigating religion I found that 90% of all theists that I have come across have not read their respective books and have never looked into their origins and contents.

The science of Muslims are the prophecies of Christians. Both false. Unless your standards and sense of reality are really low.

  • The problem with this entire story is, even IF all of the "facts" in the bible were true, that still would NOT be a reasonable argument for god as an entity. You people constantly do this. Confusing your dogma for your deity. ONE IS NOT THE OTHER. One is separate from and mutually exclusive to the other. Proving or disproving the bible does as much good to answering "the question" as proving or disproving spider-man by saying comic books are fake. Clearly logic eludes you people.

  • @cstrand31 God says he puts his Word above his name. Jesus, who is God incarnate constantly proclaimed, "It is wrtten" The scriptures came not about by the will of man, but they are "God breathed" and we cannot separate God from his Holy Word.

  • @fellowservant34 No sir, you are still committing the SAME fallacy of logic. You are "Begging the question". You're literally saying "The bible IS god because god said it in the bible." Seriously? You are ASSUMING a whole slew of premises are true, but that are in fact in question. It's called circular reasoning and if you can't see it right in front of your face, I pity you.

  • @cstrand31 I never said "the Bible is God" I said it's the Word of God. Now the Bible is not just one book but a compilation of 66 books, written in three different languages, by every class of person from kings to fishermen, on three continents, written over the course of 1500 years all proclaiming the same truth of Gods' redemptive plan for mankind. I'm not relying on any assumption, but through the testing of the scriptures, the Bible has proven to be trustworthy and reliable.

  • @fellowservant34 Incorrect. You absolutely DID say "the bible is god", right here - "we cannot separate God from his Holy Word". But even if you didn't, my argument still stands, that you people pretend that if someone were to prove the bible wrong it would somehow disprove god himself. And conversely that proving the bible correct somehow proves gods existence. IT DOESN'T. Again, ONE IS NOT THE OTHER. And rattling of apologetic staples such as the creation of the bible is irrelevant here.

  • @cstrand31 Why do you keep putting words in my mouth? I never said proving the Bible wrong would disprove God himself. Proving the Bible wrong would only disprove the God of the Bible. I also did not say one must prove the Bible correct in order to believe in his existence. The evidence of his existence is clearly seen by the things that he has made so man is without excuse.

BTW, The miraculous orchestration of the Bible is relevant in offering further evidence of the divine hand of God.

  • @fellowservant34 " I never said proving the Bible wrong would disprove God himself." - Not in so many words,no. But this video strongly implies as much.

"I also did not say one must prove the Bible correct in order to believe in his existence" - Nor did I. In fact I specifically said even IF you proved everything in the bible correct, it still would NOT prove gods existence.

"The evidence of HIS existence is clearly seen by the things that HE has made" Here you go again,ASSUMING the conclusion.

  • the amount of people who BECAME atheists from reading the bible far outweighs those that came to christianity from reading it.

  • @BillKiernan Definitely one of the most ignorant comments I've read today. You obviously pulled that phony statistic right out of your back-end. The bible does not produce atheist's. Atheism is a matter of the will, not of the mind.

  • @fellowservant34 i can link you to about 20 atheist youtubers who became atheists from reading the bible. you're looking at one right here, as well.

  • @BillKiernan 20 atheist's? WOW that's overwhelming! LOL...Do you have any idea of the untold billions that have come to Christ within the last 2000 years because of the scriptures? Atheist conversions cannot sniff those kind of numbers.

One question, in reading the Bible, are you like other atheist's who reject it because of the existence of the supernatural within it?

  • @fellowservant34 i was giving you an example. funny how you, mr. christian, are the one being snide and arrogant and acting like an asshole with your "lols" and insults. i read the bible while i was a christian, and reading it made me not want to associate myself with that religion anymore. but, what does it matter? you'll just say i wasn't a real christian and that's why i left, straight out of the fundie playbook.

  • @BillKiernan Why didn't you answer my question? You had already told me that you became an atheist from reading the Bible, but I asked you specifically if you like other atheist's rejected it because of the existence of the supernatural found within the pages of it?

  • @fellowservant34 no, i read it while believing in the supernatural. first and foremost, it bored me. it was like walking uphill trying to get through genesis. then, the brutality of the old testament and the draconian punishments etc was the finishing blow. combined with my inability to swallow things like noah's ark, etc.

  • @BillKiernan In reading your comments, what made you think that you were a Christian? Saying it was hard to swallow Noah's Ark is an indictment of your carnal mind and lack of faith in God. How could you be a Christian without being born again and trusting in Gods' Word? If you don't understand his righteous judgement and intolerance of sin, how could you then understand his grace and mercy and the cross? Friend, you never knew God personally, you merely practiced futile religion.

  • @fellowservant34 " but, what does it matter? you'll just say i wasn't a real christian and that's why i left, straight out of the fundie playbook."

Knew it. i'm going to go ahead and stop wasting my time with you now.

  • @BillKiernan Just because you made the prior statement, does not make what I said any less true. As far as I'm concerned, as a child of God, phonies usually stick out like a sore thumb and indict themselves when asked a few basic questions as was clearly shown.

  • @fellowservant34 bigthink dot com /ideas/20808 , article about this very subject.

  • @fellowservant34 google "la times-atheists, agnostics most knowledgeable about religion, survey says" . atheists are usually more well versed in the bible than your average christian. not to mention general knowledge about other world religions. am i still ignorant?

  • @fellowservant34 I personally know many atheists (including myself) who were compelled to disbelieve the claims of Christianity (and eventually disbelieve in a god) because of their study of the Bible.

    This video is frankly embarrassing...

  • Lol @ this video. Why do they have the background set-up like a Nancy Grace courtroom? hehehe!

  • LOL, dumbass, He's no idea what its like to be an atheist.

  • Muslims claim 1400 or so prophecies in the Qur'an, so it wins, right? The real god is the one with the most prophecies?

  • Greetings,

With respect you make dishonest statement of which you have no way of knowing that being "many of these same people have not so much as read a single book of the 66 books that make up the Holy Bible." you do not know "many" of the worlds over billion people who would be considered Atheist. That makes you dishonest.

2- I can list for you just a small % of the worlds other holy books, none of which you have read even a tiny part of if any, 99+% none of.

    This makes you a hypocrite.

  • Pew Research just published a study showing Atheists on average know more about religion than the average Theist does, so that blows your claim out of the water.

Also many Atheists would say reading the Bible is what caused them to deconvert. Which pretty much neutralizes these testimonies.

So, what was your point again? I'm a bit confused because your claim doesn't seem to match up with reality.

  • @joshkarandora This video is not about the average theist. Biblically speaking the average theist is likely going to Hell. The main point of this video is to demonstrate how people who genuinely seek the truth, will discover God despite their background.

  • @fellowservant34 There must exist some kind of manifestation of a phenomenon that people can experience for themselves to actually be able to claim that we're talking about something real. The bible and other forms of "personal testimonies" simply don't come close to meeting the burden of proof a person has when he claims the laws of physics are circumvented.

  • @Gnomefro The Bible and other forms of personal testimonies may not meet your burdon of proof level, but you should ask yourself the question, what would you consider to be "proof" and is it reasonable?

  • I guess the first guy is not aware of the statistical probability of vague nebulous prophecies coming true, most of which aren't even actual prophecies.

I would love to hear any of these prophecies, quoted, and demonstrated to have come true that are very specific.

Even so, a prophecy or a thousand prophecies are not proof of a god. They are proof of prophecies, possibly fortune tellers, and even possibly time travelers, and yes possibly a god. But there's no way to know really.

  • @fellowservant34

Koranically speaking, all Christians and everyone else who is not Muslim is going to hell.

Book of Mormonically speaking anyone who doesn't have more than one wife is going to hell.

All these people would say the exact thing you are saying: "Follow such and such a path and you will find the truth"

So, once again I ask: What is your point?

Why should we accept that your "Truth" is in fact truth?

In other words, how do you determine what is truth and what is delusion?

  • @joshkarandora Thank you so much for this excellent response to the religious video. I am so glad to see atheists, skeptics and non religious people speak up under this video, makes me feel better, I had such a bad feeling watching this video.

  • @NicolaRedwooddforest

    You're welcome.

  • @NicolaRedwooddforest What you called a "bad feeling" was what we call conviction and it's a good thing. Conviction leads to contrition, which will then lead to repentance, faith and life. But when we suppress that conviction, it's called hardening our heart and that leads to death.

"Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your heart"...

"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit"

  • @fellowservant34 A bad feeling is what you call conviction? That makes no sense to me. A bad feeling is caused when I see something I do not like. So how can this be a conviction? It is your conviction. Not mine. You agree with the video. That is your business. I do not agree with the video. It's interesting to see how different even the vocabulary is between the bible texts, even the new translations, and the common English language. My heart is wide open for love, life, and kindness.

  • @fellowservant34 I disagree. My father is an atheist he WAS a Church of Christ minister with a degree in divinity. I've read the bible, I've read the kitab'i'aqdas, I've read the koran. I have never been religious but it isn't like I didn't look. Nothing personal. I just disagree.

  • The engineer's claims, even if true, don't prove anything. So what if so many prophecies came true? Unless they were truly specific and proven to be non self-fulfilling, they mean nothing. And so what if the history of Palestine matched up? This book was written by people who lived in that time around that area, I would assume, and if not, how is the Bible any more than mythology and hearsay? Plus he kept talking about how much he wanted to believe the Bible, so he had clear motives.

  • @siesiek123 And no, I was not alienated from my church. I loved the community of my church. The cultural anthropologist is just arrogant in assuming that we all were led to our choice by the same illogic that she was. She is just taking her one explanation and applying it to us, the exact thing she claims she was always trying to avoid. And she claims we are like adolescents who are angry at a father figure, but she is like a child yearning for blissful ignorance and false safety in that parent.
