  • why did that happen? i wonder if the grey foam is to blame. the foam that the drummer placed?

  • I hope that I could recover that well if it ever happened to me.

  • I think that the Lord let that happen.. it is just a simple message for us to smile and think of positive and good ways. :)

  • That chick in the pink kept messing the words up!!!!!! AAAAGGHGHHHH

  • I love this song.

  • It was God, or was it.

  • That happened to me too; goodjob playing it off!

  • I guess my brother's been trolling again.

  • It seems that Churches today look a lot like Broadway musicals.

  • @duncreg could be a good conversation... I talk a lot about questions like at at my site worshipmythbustersDOTcom

  • Praise the Lord you even turned the other cheak! GLORY!

  • I agree with wentsurfing, it'd be cool to hear the whole song!

  • @reddingwrshpldr, And those for who complain about their Mix (Monitor) that the drums are to loud, Should really look in to buying Custom molded In Ear Monitors.

  • @dbrookfourtwenty, Funny. You can make so many sounds out of a (drum). You can control your sound or else play it the way it's supposed to be played. Doesn't mean you need to play quiet or beat the crap out the drums). And another thing. Sound Engineers would recommend the drum shield because the mics get better sound quality of the individual drum and not scaterd little noises and other crap.

  • This is what u guys get for saying we drummers are too loud! And u can ask for the drummer to be softer but u wont get the same results when u play louder.

  • Let this be a sign that the Lord prefers acapella worship.

    Repent.

  • @ 0:42 The woman messed up the words! lol

  • @DedmonStudios lol she messed up again 0:52

  • @LesPaul209 lolz

  • i knew that drum shield was having cheating with that piano

  • Go the bass player, picking up after the drummer! Bass players rock.

  • He said shit at 0:26

  • lol thats amazing, great recovery :)

  • Good job. I'm glad you can budget for acoustic treatment for your sanctuary when billions of people are starving. Jesus would be so happy to see how his sheep herd themselves. Herd themselves right up to the slaughter house.

  • great recovery though despite the bad comments its not dynamics you tards its how you set up the shield that matters

  • @dbrookfourtwenty indeed...good idea

of course this was for psychological reasons and the front row mix...the front gets splashed and not a good mix, on other words...yes, I hate the drum shield, and even more since being attacked! ;)

  • @dbrookfourtwenty I'm the drummer in my church's orchestra. Our sanctuary was not built to accomodate a full choir, praise team, orchestra, and rhythm section. The rafters stir around sound like crazy. As much as I HATE playing in that thing, it's needed for the acoustics of the room and the sake of the over all mix. I can play dynamically and pride myself in that. We're currently budgeting an overhaul to the sanctuary with acoustical tiles and speaker placement. Not always the drummers fault!

  • @dbrookfourtwenty do you play the drums?

  • Comment removed

  • @dbrookfourtwenty Here's an idea: realize that most buildings much less houses of worship were not built to accomodate the sonic tendancies of the acoustic drum kit. Dynamics or not, drum shields are in many cases necessary. I've even seen them used in arena and outdoor venues too, not full sized shields such as this one but half sized covering the height of the kick drum. This makes your comment seem ignorant on the matter, and Darwin didn't take well to the ignorant species. -1pt. for Darwin.

  • @dbrookfourtwenty wow, you are completely 100% clueless lol

    or maybe you're kidding....

  • That was great how you guys pretty much didn't miss a beat. I was impressed! I had an incident where I was playing drums and it fell in on me and the only thing stoping it from completely caving was a cymbal lol.

  • man they pulled that one off well

  • @NatPradoTheory thx, but it was all a blurr

  • I would love to hear the rest of the song :) do you have it posted?

  • @wentsurfing sorry, I do not

  • Way to make it work, worship leader guy! Love it.

  • LOL!!! This made my night. Good recovery! I think just about every Worship team has had similar things happen to them. My favorite worship team memory is when we played "We were meant to live" by Switchfoot for special music and my old worship leader who rarely ever made a mistake, got dyslexia both at practice and the service and kept saying "We were meant for so much more to live." ROFL. I laugh everytime I think about it.

  • was it, hmmm.... SATAN?

  • @johhny3rubs or grow up and let him take control... Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a douche bag like me...hmm, might work ;)

  • @reddingwrshpldr baaaaaaaaaaa

  • @reddingwrshpldr

there is no growth of the mind when you're in a trance-like state.

    "yougottadance", said the sheepman

  • @johhny3rubs god bless you because you truly are a demon

  • @johhny3rubs I think God just wanted to have a laugh XD I know I did!!!

  • @johhny3rubs yeah man I love being not in control WHAZAAA!!

  • Wonder how King David handled it when his drum shield fell over?

  • hey i like that song!

  • that dude's a pro. he just keeps going!

  • lol... awesome . love it

  • Yeah! Keep it goin'!

  • Funny how tha 2 peeps at the right side of tha stage looked oblivious...

  • This is what we fear every service lol

  • rich, this is hilarious. Thanks for sharing!

  • well done for keeping the show on the road, Bless you, Devil's a liar.

  • what and where is the BIG deal? just for that drum shield????!!! you just missing the the Real Thing!

  • Satan is everywhere - even on the worship stage sending his demons to attack God's anointed ministers! If your church had done better spiritual warfare before hand maybe this wouldn't happen - but obviously someone had been sinning too much lately and Satan was allowed to get a foothold!

  • i hate those things!

    They should be made illegal

  • they dont need a drum screen. its a placebo to keep the leadership quiet

  • didnt miss a beat cool

  • LOL !!! I love how the other vocalists just keep going. Not looking at all to see what happened.

  • ROTFL!!! That was hysterical! You handled that so well though! Wow!! God's grace! Awesome, bro!!!

  • You recovered very well, actually. If someone was worshipping with their eyes closed the only reason they would have known was because someone was about to sing "shine your light" when you went back to "savior he can move the mountains." if you don't watch the video, but listen to the song, you can't even tell something fell on you lol.

  • lol..i liked the editing at the end.. =) but good job playing it off..

  • hhahaha! the evil shield

  • You played it off pretty well. haha. I hate drum shields. My drummer is so loud, we built him his own room! We ultimately got electronic drums. He doesn't like them...but the sound is SOOO much better. At least for our church.

  • Give to him some screw fast.

  • mugroso diablo...jejeje

  • that shield needs a lot of fixing on itself... wahehehe... Awesome singing... God bless you all. WHat church?

  • OMG!

  • You were marked down for using the lords name in vein!

    XDXD CHRISTIANS!!!LOL

  • @gabesprofile could have stood for oh my goodness...

  • Nevertheless, that was some powerful singing. Good harmony with the backup vocals. Glad to hear a worship team with a good lead singer. Thanks for having the good humor to post this video.

  • Bad shield, bad

  • LOLOL, oh yes they crazy stuff that goes on during worship is many times even missed by parts of the team!!! Somehow though, most of the congregation sees it!

  • google "clear sonic" they make them

  • hey guys .. im planning to buy or ask someone to make it(if there is no available)

what is this drum shield made of??

    plastic??

    need response immediately!

  • haha, way to hold it together and for being able to look back and laugh about it. :)

  • Wow...NOW I'm a believer! Good one, Lord!

  • LOL awesome ! Neat how it was in the part of the song where the instruments wasn't playing.

  • I think it's funny that the instant replay is 45 seconds after the shield actually fell.

But at least he kept the song going.

  • I think I saw a plane fly into it. Look close and you'll see the second one on the way.

This was all over the news when it happened. Everyone was talking about it.

  • It didn't even hit him.

  • sometimes we worship leaders go through "comic" times like these... but its cool to maintain composure and focus! And also a team to fix stuff if ever things do go wrong. Its still funny though!

  • What is a drum shield and why do people use it?

  • its so the drums arent echoing over the building and dominating the sound but they use mics aswell to controll the sound...i think :)

  • Thanks. In my day we didn't have those.

  • The purpose of the drum shield is create multiple audio zones. One on stage, and one in the audience (often referred to as the "house"). The drum shield will minimize the amount of sound reaching the audience from the stage, yet still proving enough sound for the rest of the band on stage. The drums then, combined with all the other band members can then have their audio "mixed" by a sound engineer to create a pleasant listening experience for the house.

  • n00000000000b

  • Yes. Thank you for your kind and loving comment.

  • No problem n00b! :)

  • drummers get there own back praise god!

  • Amen bruv

  • LOL that was funny

  • lol way to keep goin tho

  • i think Satan did it.....hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahah....

  • PEREZ HILTON IS SAVED

  • damn dude, that is PRO.

i see a lot of bands who go into full-on "trainwreck mode" during gigs if somebody simply hits a bad note; it shows that you guys are definitely seasoned...

i played a gig a few years back where some drunk b!tch got launched onstage into our singer's floor monitors mid-song, and he actually got mad at ME because i kept playing the drums!!

well done. it seems simple, but a lot of young up-and-comers should watch stuff like this and take note of how to perform...

  • hahahaha... nuclear winter or not, we will worship bro! :)

  • Fantastic. Ha. Way to keep your composure.

  • What about Jesus in all that?

  • Jesus is laughing with us I suppose, don't you think? :)

  • LOL, hahahahahahaha, or maybe he did it to test u,

  • YES... a test. We WILL be worshiping rain or shine, drum shield attack or not! ;)

  • dood, i was going deaf. it was the best solution and it sounded better in our church.

  • Ever try using in-ear-monitors? That helps a lot and protects ears, too.

  • solution to drum shield argument: electronic drums =P

i have a set of roland TD-12 stage series drums bc the acoustics with the shield were damaging my already damaged hearing.

  • boo-urns on electronic drums...

  • hahaha! i know you guys are a great team and sound great but that definitely threw everything off.. heheh great sports.. :)

  • (The sound mix is quite bad in this vid, I can't hear the second keyboard)

Also if drummers use a shield they have to setup their drums to accmodate the sheild so it forms a circle around the drums.

The drum screen is not just for the punters, it's for the worship band as well!

  • You get a mix on the video like that when you pull a 5:1 mix into mono, especially so when 1/2 the band stops to figure out what to do--laugh or keep playing. Gotta get a sense of humor dude!!

I will let you email our audio guys if you want. We are simply using the shield for the front row in the crowd is all. ;)

  • Ahh but the shield is also to reduce stage sound, so there is less noise going into the vocal mics and more nice sounding vocals But anyway, I was doing sound for our church evening service recently and the guy setup his drums in such an awkward way that we could not get the sheild around properly which meant the baffle roof was not on right.

In our room the accoustics are terrible! sound bounces all over the room, so I was a little sore when I saw the drum sheild in your vid, I apologise.

  • you get a 5:1 mix live?

  • I LOVE HOW HE KEPT SINGING!!!!!!! Even though he was brutally attacked by the drum shield he still sang praises to the Father! This was soooo funny!!!

  • being a worship drummer and not a fan of the shield i think this is hilarious!!! thanks for the chuckle

  • @chickwsticks one of our drummer HATES the shield as well. I won't forget the sad look on his face when we first set it up! Although it was the first time I could hear myself as a keyboard player without the monitor turned up so high

  • Oh the dangers of leading worship...Thanks for posting!!!

  • everything in stride!

  • they sound good =)

  • hhahaha! thanks for the laugh. gotta give it up to the worship team (and leader!) for not stopping.

  • hilarious

  • Good recovery!

  • it's funny but you have to give credit to the whole worship team for being calm. i remember one time while we were leading worship in our service, one of the cymbals fell down but we just kept on playing.good job guys!

  • im just wondering why they need to keyboard/piano players, sounds like over kill.

  • Every single concert or recording you hear has backing "loops" with almost an orchestra...so we prefer to cover it all live... not so much overkill with 2 keys, just not relying on tracks. Plus, with good musicians it just works. :)

  • Man you obviously have no idea what your talking about!!! My woship dept. has three keyboard players. Its kinda like guitars. You have a lead, a backups (fill) and so on. I think the worship leader did a great job of recovering. And the camera man didnt pause and react. Eveyone held there composure very well. Remember, they are worshipers not performers.

  • yeah when your worshipping crazy things can happen!

  • What did you learn bro? The drum shield has to curve around the drums. It's the only way the shield can be secure and balanced. You have it in almost a straight line.

  • Oh no! Are you ok? I saw something about this come across the Twitter wire, but I hadn't seen the video until just now!

I bet you were surprised! ^_^

    ~JOSh-X

  • Too funny!!! I can't stop watching it. Right up there with "pitching tents"

  • Priceless
