If there is not enough room to park, they park the airplane at a parking space or ramp instead of the jetway to the terminal. from there they attach stairs and you board a bus to the terminal- again, ALMOST every airport in the world is like this... i dunno why people go straight to racism OR 'stereotypes' if thats what you want to call it.

Let me tell you this now...Biman is way better than IA, although IA has some modernised fleets, the IA cabin hostees are very bitchy and ignore you straight when you try to interact with them, they wear some ugly uniforms and slap makeup on while their in the cabin, Biman is overall very good, but they have old fleets, e.g DC10, but they're ordering 10 brand new Boeings, they're full of hospitality, regardless of Bimans lack of modernisation their service is quite good, but that's my opinion.

AI has the best fleet now..They have non stop service from JFK to BOM/DEL. All planes are brand new with comfortable seating and personal 10"TV. God knows when Biman can buy new planes. It has been more than 20 yrs Biman didn't buy any new aircraft. Moreover they stopped the service from JFK causing inconvenience to many. This is one fucked up pathetic airline the most oldest fleet of any airline.

But always worth it to ride in a DC-10 or similar from that era... I hear it's due to them not getting enough spares, as Fed Ex and others like Omni, ATA still fly DC-10s with no problem. Pity they don't do reg scheduled services as well. Government I suppose, not allowing enough for maintenance. Anyway, I guess if they cancel a flight its hotelling and put me on next one. I certainly have ensured I have no onward connections for at least two days after, in fact more that that.
