Self-defense is extremely important and we make sure our students of all ages are given the tools to succeed. There is no perfect style, so we blend key elements from Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Kung Fu, Israeli defense, Jui Jitsu, Thai boxing, Western boxing, traditional and modern weapons. The world is always changing and so is the martial arts.
At Evolution Martial Arts we believe that you can change yourself, but you cant always change someone else. Living positive is the best way to live. Making great choices can help prevent most negative outcomes. We also know that not everyone is smart enough to do this.
Modern martial arts is said to have originated from the monks of the Shaolin temple. They strived for "total awareness" and tried to achieve this through the ways in which they lived their lives (respect, discipline, integrity, etc.) It wasn't until they were forced into self defense that Kung Fu became a militaristic (martial) art.
I don't mean to be an internet troll, but I'm fed up with all the martial arts classes that care way more about the moral part of martial arts than the actual self defense. This is why people make fun of martial arts. Self-discipline, confidence, etc. are important, but are simply "side-affects" of the art, not the reasons for the art. By the way, what style of karate do you teach? Wado ki? Shotokan? Bunkai? Then, can you give me a short history lesson on your style?
Okay everybody thinks the kids in the back are good they juss sit there and repeat da words im not tryin to be mean im not hatting im juss saying there were good dnt get me wrong juss that they were juss sitting down until like the 10 seconds at the end(:
Omg, this video actually made me cry with tears of joy. The children in the back were simply adorable and splendid. I think that this video encourages young children, teens and adults to "Do the best in everything they do, sir"!
I use to go there. I moved to ny though. Man I really miss it and everybody! :(
