Ok now I have another issue. Im getting 60+fps in all my games, most games fail to go below 100fps including B3. Ive got a 6970, i52600k,850watt psu, but getting severe stutter/microstutter in all my games, do you know what could be causing this?
@byPez Do you have the most up-to-date drivers for your video card? I'd check to see if you've got any background processes chewing up resources. Did you notice problems after you installed some new piece of software?
@byPez The fan on the Power supply sucks air in, through the unit and out the back. My case has an inlet on the bottom that allows it to draw fresh air from outside the case instead of warm air from inside.
@raheemisbad No, not my first build. It's my first build in YEARS. LOL. The last PC I built from the ground up was a Pentium II-266Mhz, back maybe in the 90's. As far as OS and drivers go, it took a couple of hours to get everything to my liking.
@wowtorreon you should of gotten a GTX 560 you can get them for $170 for a nice one. You might get more fps in some games with the AMD 6870 but the physx has a better benefit to gaming and with other situations.
@dzman1024 I considered NVIDIA but I've had good luck in the past with Radeon series so I decided to stick with that. I'm not a hard-core gamer so extra FPS isn't a huge deal for me. I'm pretty happy with my card.
im hoping to build my first pc this weekend (if parts all come) and was wondering since its my first time and i dont know what the hell im doing , what do you recon's the best way to approach it?
@byLegacyHD@itsaferbie has a great suggestion - the NewEgg tutorial is pretty good. Just be patient and you should be fine. Remember that most plugs are keyed somehow, meaning that they only go in one way. Also, static electricity can kill your system so make sure you ground your self before you start. Good luck!

@lendial Thanks! I spent time trying to make it neat - the case helps. Its a Corsair 600T Graphite Series, White Edition. Check out my channel, I've got a video about it
@wowtorreon Im about to build a very similar system (i5 2500k, 90 gb ssd,6870) i already have the 6870, but im wondering if you were able to find an i5 2500k for under 225 dollars? i think their prices have gone up due to bulldozer utterly failing. Or maybe i should just wait as this is just so i can playskyrim without lag.
@lendial I got the i5 for $219. I noticed that it went up in price pretty soon after I got mine in October. As far as waiting - if you have the $ now, then I say build. Assuming of course that you can get everything that you need at once.
Those extension cables are a really good idea. I wouldn't have considered them till I saw this video, but since I'm building a new pc myself I'll definitely be buying them.
@HumbleAsTheDust I didn't think of them either - until I started building. Luckily for me, I live near FrozenCPU, which is a great place for parts. They had a couple of different manufacturers but I thought the BitFenix ones were the best ones.
Dude, that is some of the nicest cable management I've seen on any build, especially considering you got the extensions which just add to the bulk. Very nice.
Question: Why are you not going to use the fan controller? I've been eying this case and a lot of people mention how it's a nice feature. Do you mind explaining your thought? I'm sure it's just a simple "just don't plan on ever using it."
Also, some mobos come with a USB 3 header, which you can use to adapt the front usb to the mobo.
@tiotito31 Thanks on the initial cable mgt. Next video has the final setup. What you don't see here are the cables for the hard drives and Blue Ray Burner. As far as the fan controller goes, i don't need them at the moment. The three fans I have in the case are controlled by the motherboard. If i ever decide to change out the side panel window with the mesh-grill with four fans then I'd definitely use it. Also, next part shows that I did indeed have what I needed for front panel USB 3.0
@mongekyousharingan45 LOL - you're almost right. The truth is that I was up so late putting it all together that I pushed Part 5 ahead of Part 4. Part 4 is going up tonight
Do you think when it's finished you can run Mac OSX virtually and show us how smooth it is. That's the one thing I have to make sure is good, so If I do a build similar it won't fail me.

Does it matter that the PSU is upside down?

@redruney Unfortunately, it was just outside of my budget for video card. I decided that $200 was my max for video.
