Nope, you don't need a satallite box to use it, just a standard tv ariel. In the UK it's £49.99 and you don't have to pay monthly.

Basically, it's justa freeview box for the PS3

Basically, the written comments describe functions you can see: the structure of menus, osd, epg, timer recording and handling of captured videos. If you are interested in something in particular, name the time code and I will describe in a reply what you like to know. Apart from that, there is a PlayTV demo in some online stores in Europe such as UK.

can you access teletext like you can with a normal freeview box? also i heard there is a bit of slowdown when forward and rewinding the current channel, is this true?

Teletext is not supported yet. Switching channels is pretty fast. The internal media player is not perfect but it works ok. You can move recordings to your XMB and use the better video player and faster rewinding/forwarding (up to 120x instead of up to 20x) there - unless the videos are recognized as being broken. But I have to note the video shown here was created on the basis of a pre-release firmware. It is possible to see some changes as soon as the device finally comes to stores.

Recorded content will be saved to your hard drive. So in theory you could play recorded content through Home. But i'm sure they will update Home so you can use PlayTV through Home

PlayTV is a DVB-T receiver for PS3. You can watch and record channels broadcasted via DVB-T. Please check the local availability of DVB-T in your region because there are significant differences in quantity and quality.
