Totally under rated engine in a under rated car. This race would be a diffrent story if both cars were at the track on slicks, the GT4's were made to rally not a drag car , thats were the supra rules. On the other hand too many supra's are dyno queens with timeing so advanced that there torque curve is only 50% of there HP with the HP so high up in the rpms it's usless.
Thats why in Japan GT300-GT500 trackcars still use the 3SGTE.
VVTL-I & VTEC all the down falls of a turbo without the benifits.

Because you get far better grip in the corners, and of the line, the reason the super lost is because it has to much power for its own good, rwd and it says 1000hp that is really hard to put down on what looks like a poor condition road, awd will always win over rwd, exept for pure fun

ok im jusr going to say this... ive seen a 980whp supra in person before, and it was fast... i mean fast... but that supra in the video was running like a STOCK twinturbo supra... and if it did have 1024hp it sure didnt accelerate like one, but it might have been all the stockers that made it 1024hp....

@croxley3000 The Supra always has been, and always will be(been?) RWD, the Celica is the one that got swapped to fwd in the 4th generation of Celica's (Not All-Trac / GT4, which are awd). And Supra used to be just a trim of Celica, which might be where you're getting confused. ;)

well the Celica GT4 for one has a better grip on the road for one as opposed to the supra having only two tires to accelerate so the power difference does not take too much into account especially if you also consider the weight difference of the two and the skill of the drivers. don't just consider the power also the torque output and how well te person takes off keeping maximum traction as well as the reaction time.
@BenjiPOTF question I have a celica vvti which Im swapping the 1.8 engine with the gt4 turbo engine. Do you need to warm the turbo up before use with these cars? Im sure the guys at the tuning shop will tell me but Im essentially using the vvti shell with the GT4 engine and 4WD drive system and Im having the engine rebuilt to be 600bhp sorry if I sound retarded but its a project Im doing and its about £8,000 worth of work

Wow I'm a supra fan as well but all these comments are just sad, everyone knows Supra's own rolling races, not drags. In fact without proper suspension setups and drag radials they're generally rubbish at drag racing.
supra driver is too scared to drive fast or else there is no way that GT 4 can beat supra even though there is no doubt that GT4 is a powerful ride, but can't beat supra unless a driver is too scared to go over 100 miles
I seriously laughed at this. It isn't a matter of horsepower it's a matter of torque : weight ratio when it comes to HP this high. Also, look at the grip at the take off. The Supra can't possibly take off as fast, it weighs too much.
So is this a race to like 40mph or what. What the fuck kinda road is this and what kinda race! A car that gets off the line better is not the faster car! Not saying anything bad about the celica its a great built car here but Give them both road and race at least a 1/4 mile or to a good speed and the supra would finally hook and the supra would catch up and make it a much better race then a car winning off the line then sit in the middle of the road like the race is over.
look at the bugatti veyron. the volkswagon technicians took years to learn how to put over 1000hp down on the road (guess what? veyron is awd!) so this amateur modifier would have no idea how to put 1000 hp down. also horse power isn't everything. a crappy little 1.8L lotus exige (about 190bhp) can fucking annihilate a 500hp ford mustang around a track as americans don't know how to build a car that goes around corners!! don't believe me? watch jeremy clarksons dvd with that exact race on!

well the Celica GT4 for one has a better grip on the road for one as opposed to the supra having only two tires to accelerate so the power difference does not take too much into account especially if you also consider the weight difference of the two and the skill of the drivers. don't just consider the power also the torque output and how well te person takes off keeping maximum traction as well as the reaction time.

@BenjiPOTF question I have a celica vvti which Im swapping the 1.8 engine with the gt4 turbo engine. Do you need to warm the turbo up before use with these cars? Im sure the guys at the tuning shop will tell me but Im essentially using the vvti shell with the GT4 engine and 4WD drive system and Im having the engine rebuilt to be 600bhp sorry if I sound retarded but its a project Im doing and its about £8,000 worth of work

@BenjiPOTF still.supras are heavy and have a lot of weight in the back.the supra couldent of been over 1000hp.and your right on some parts the celica is awd.do you know how much crank to whp you loose from that? vs 2? you dont alawys to have to full throttle too.even with skill..600hp shouldent beat 1000

Wow I'm a supra fan as well but all these comments are just sad, everyone knows Supra's own rolling races, not drags. In fact without proper suspension setups and drag radials they're generally rubbish at drag racing.

supra driver is too scared to drive fast or else there is no way that GT 4 can beat supra even though there is no doubt that GT4 is a powerful ride, but can't beat supra unless a driver is too scared to go over 100 miles

I seriously laughed at this. It isn't a matter of horsepower it's a matter of torque : weight ratio when it comes to HP this high. Also, look at the grip at the take off. The Supra can't possibly take off as fast, it weighs too much.

So is this a race to like 40mph or what. What the fuck kinda road is this and what kinda race! A car that gets off the line better is not the faster car! Not saying anything bad about the celica its a great built car here but Give them both road and race at least a 1/4 mile or to a good speed and the supra would finally hook and the supra would catch up and make it a much better race then a car winning off the line then sit in the middle of the road like the race is over.

look at the bugatti veyron. the volkswagon technicians took years to learn how to put over 1000hp down on the road (guess what? veyron is awd!) so this amateur modifier would have no idea how to put 1000 hp down. also horse power isn't everything. a crappy little 1.8L lotus exige (about 190bhp) can fucking annihilate a 500hp ford mustang around a track as americans don't know how to build a car that goes around corners!! don't believe me? watch jeremy clarksons dvd with that exact race on!
