  • Believe me, I have no desire to be depressed, it just happens. I try not to let it happen, but it still does. It is NOT a choice.

  • This video got some good and bad stuff!

But why on earth do they give out antidepressiv medicine to a depressive sucide bloke with even more side effect as suicidal thoughts.

We didn't choose depression. The world, made us depressiv.

If that is a Jew at 2:38 you better screw you self!

As he wouldn't be depressed in Treblinka or auschwitz

  • Yeah it was so very spiritual when I was molested by relatives growing up and beaten senseless everyday by my parents . God was very good to me and I can only blame myself for being stuck in a traumatic replay of my past everyfuckingday. I love to struggle with PTSD and losing friends and family along the way.

A choice you say? Spit me in the face some more you mindless piece of shit.

  • what the heck is spirituality?

  • you're kidding me right... depression was not my choice

  • @fionacb95 For SOME people depression is a choice. Not all. If it's a choice, it's the "poor me syndrome." There are multiple causes of depression. Not just one.

  • I would just like to point out that l-tryptophan is the reason everyone feels sleepy after their thanksgiving meal. Turkey has a high amount of l-tryptophan in it. l-tryptophan is also a key ingredient in sleep aids. so taking l-tryptophan as a medication for depression could potentially mess you up. I would really talk to a doctor before you up your l-tryptophan intake.

  • DO NOT INSULT ME. You state "Depression is a choice", then the next slide states "Depression is the result of a CHEMICAL IMBALANCE in the brain"

And this is my choice how ?????

The more i watched this video and the slides presented, the more I came to the conclusion it's a load of garbage...

and on what do i base this assessment ? well the fact that i've been diagnosed with major depression to start with.

so take this crap video down, as it does not help people !!!

  • Brandenburg Concertos rule! Listen to Bach. You won't have time to be depressed.

  • Taking the non-natural drugs pharma likes to sell people is like putting a 30-06 bullet into a .410 shotgun. It'll be more powerful, and if it does work, less accurate, if it doesnt work it will blow ur ass up.

  • wtf is that at 2:38?

  • @TheCleezable It appears to be a jew.

  • Johann Sebastian Bach make's me happy :)

  • The music already makes me depressed...

  • L-tryptophan......milk, turkey, poultry, bananas, eggs, salmon........have tried them, no difference.................Answer = Love, result ........Whoopee. Word of warning, caution, Love is very powerful and may cause side effects. Alcohol can intensify or nullify feelings, handle with care :-)

  • I tried this L-trytophen that they recommend and I got the same side effects that I got from big pharma's anti deppressants.

  • nothing is free my fried. its all about the comeback. the samples r to promote sales not to help sad people. they would not give them out if it effected sales negatively. it improves overall sales or they would not do it.

i wish the world were a better place but there r many ruthless people and companies that got to the top because they r ruthless. not trying to be a downer, just trying to help some nice people understand.

  • @ Buddha's quote: Note that there's an "and" in the last sentence. Note that common sense once denied that the Earth revolved around the Sun.

  • I don't think all SSRI have these side effects. I've been on Lexapro for more than a year, and I feel nothing bad but just slow improvement for my control over my OCD. In fact, when my doctors suggested pills that have a quicker effect on my depression but have tons of side effects, and I stopped taking them due to these effects, the doctor agreed to just stick to the side effect-free Lexapro.

  • people dont turn away from god they figure out there isn't one .......

  • 4:47 random pile of dirt?

  • Natural medicine is not a cure either, it may be a better alternative. In order to understand depression you must look to etiology, read "The Ultramind Solution", it presents a wealth of information reguarding the underlying cause of mental illness reguarding nutrition, hormones, inflammation, digestive function, stress, detoxification, and metabolism. It is a simple approach anyone can understand, up this if you like it.

  • If i wanted to make a video of what i learn while i was trying to get better,I'll make this one.

  • This video is scary,i just walked out a major depression, and the doctor gave me 2 kind of drugs. The list of unwanted effects was so long. And i also realized how the drug was working with serotonin.I didnt take it and got back on my feet taking B3 and melatonin supplement. Also took 5htp.

  • I'm 13 and sometimes I feel ugly and useless and empty and I feel like I have to listen to what my head says and If I don't do wat it says something bad will happen:'( and sometimes I feel really tired am I depressed or is it hormones?

  • @BAMFITSamber Sweetheart you need to talk to your parents about what you're experiencing. A therapist can help you sort things out.

  • @BAMFITSamber What is your diet like? Are you eating tons of processed food? If so, you are ingesting all kinds of toxic chemicals like aspartame and MSG (which can legally be labeled under "natural flavors" on an ingredients list). They are excitotoxins - look up some YT vids on them. Eat whole, unprocessed real foods - like vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs, chicken, wild alaskan salmon. Don't eat margarine - eat butter, it is real food.

  • Thanks, didn't know that L-trypophan converts to 5-HTP which converts to serotonin.

  • Although some things in this video are true, a lot of it just turns my stomach! I have tried this 5-HTP/Tryptophan along with many other "natural cures" from many other natural doctors and regular doctors alike! Much of it is B.S.!!! It is a joke to say that mental illness "is a choice"! I would love to seriously like to punch you! It is not a choice! Mental illness in most cases is likely a genetic cause and can also be because of a situation too but it is not a choice!!!

  • @ttheboytwo So if you tried all these methods, have you found something that work?? Because I would really like to know so I can get some advice.

  • @dancesonpoles I don't know how much help I can be but...Just remember just because it's not "natural" doesn't mean it is not safe for you! If a doctor wants to give you something for depression, etc., just take a small amount/less of the medicine and work yourself up if you feel the need. Some natural things have worked for me only to quit working shortly thereafter! I finally found a doctor that ran tests on me and found out I had no Lithium in my system. It has helped but not a cure-all!

  • @ttheboytwo I totally agree with you; I think this video is BS and can mislead and trick many actually depressed people.

  • @ttheboytwo I agree... Implying that it's a choice is a terrible thing to say. I'd like to add that the apparent belief that 'natural' is always safer than 'pharmaceutical' is nonsense. Incredibly toxic chemicals occur naturally all over the world; digoxin from the foxglove plant, for example. Not to mention the masses of poisonous mushrooms and other fungi, bacterial toxins (like Clostridium botulinum toxin, aka Botox) etc. that can be found occurring naturally worldwide.

  • @ttheboytwo By the way, the natural products rant wasn't directed at you; it was just a general rant.

  • You know, I was on Wellbutrin in high school for a little while and it was wierd. I sort of felt numb. I really didnt care about anything...and I also wasnt depressed anymore. I got off of it because of this numb feeling. My depression has since come back in full force and I dont really want to go on anti-depressants. I will have to try this as an alternative. Thanks for posting!

  • @mizzzlizzz02 Actually, I heard now that this was banned in the US? Is that true?

  • @mizzzlizzz02 There's a very good story behind why -tryptophan was banned in the U.S. In brief, it was one bad batch of caused by GMO in the l-tryptophan. Third video of link below has info: encognitiveDOTcom/node/10275 (third video)

  • you completely left out another depression cause---bad life experiences. i think ive always had low serotonin or something but i never was depressed until age 14 when my social life continued to be terrible & self image declining

no useless supplement ever made a difference

  • @BellaaMarlene quote "you completely left out another depression cause---bad life experiences."

THANK YOU +1 finally someone with brains here.

It is indeed bad life experiences, unsatisfying social activities, even harsh environment. No friggin "natural" drug on this planet is going to fully cure a persons emotional problems without experiencing symptoms. It is the individual's duty to strive for happiness.

  • @SoloQ That being very true, a little help along the way with these SSRI's is like having a helping friend, kind of like a pet gerbil ha, not a puppy, which you should probably get a good pet if you're depressed they help a lot.

  • @SoloQ It think that could be classified under the "social" cause or a class of its own?

  • Does anyone know the pros and cons of taking Tryptophan vs 5-HTP? I've heard warnings about 5-HTP generating high seratonin levels in the blood, where they are not supposed to be as seratonin doesn't cross the blood brain barrier anyway. Something tells me that Tryptophan would be safer. But there are lots of testimonials for 5-HTP working very well.

  • antidepresents from drs and such are posin

  • God rocks!

  • (contnued) compared to the likes of SSRIs produced by pharmaceutical companies. I really wish people would stop with this negative attitude towards the pharmaceutical industry, i think people always just want to create controversy for the sake of it. It isn't only drugs within the field of psychiatry that aren't always effective, any drug for any illness may not work for everyone, it is the individual who is either immune, or for some reason does not benefit from the drug in question.

  • i don't mean to insult your intelligence but big pharma is run by boards of directors not moms or doctors. they don't care about you. they care about your money

  • Well, you're hardly insulting my intelligence just by having a differing view, i simply happen to disagree. Pharma companies may not care about me, as an individual, but they do care about selliing their drugs, and in order to sell them, they need to pass tough regulations, which are enforced independently to the large companies. Those making the so called 'Natural' drugs are every bit as bad, and calling the drugs 'natural' doesn't mean they are any more 'moral' - just that they know how...

  • @AnAtheist Totally agree with you! This video is very misleading.

  • (continued)...manipulate people, claiming that they have the moral highground, when in fact they don't -they could be selling anything as far as you're concerned, their unltimate goal is the same, MONEY - only they have little to no regulation and if they did, i bet 99% of the products would not be licensed since the stuff on the drugs is nothing more than water - homeopathy being a classic example.

  • @zzzonezz AGREED!!! After 4 months of horror, I got off my antidepressant. It made me a zombie for 10 years. After getting of it, I learned I also have fibromyalgia. I started 5 HTP and it's been 2 weeks. I pray it works. So far, I only notice very minor improvement.

  • @zzzonezz yes money means more that a persons life there sick people who would rather let you suffer than help you i thought doctors where supposed to help or have there rules changed now

  • @zzzonezz If that's true, thne explain to me how I'm allowed to be given FREE Lexapro pills for every visit to my doctor -- and that is for the entire month, and I visit my doctor each month, that means leaving only the expenses to the visits.

  • @AnAtheist and some people like me have adverse reactions to talblets my body gets used to them so they dont work any more thats why i have gone for natural medicines that are basically in the food you eat eat it in the right combination and it will heal you

  • Okay, i agree that food and exercise are paramount in regulating one's serotonin levels, and that ADs don't always work, but i have a huge problem with people who do nothing but attack the PHARMA companies. You know what, ADs DO help many people and they are strongly regulated. Why is it that people say nothing about them making a fortune from people buying 'natural' or 'alternative' medicines? Why is okay for them to earn and not be corrupt? These pills have very little regulation.....

  • Please anyone who is depressed fill your head with some kind of physical agenda. A regular walk a marathon anything along those lines. Will make a difference I promise.

  • i know some one close to me who took antidepressants pills and told me he was thinking about killing him self. i seen many people with relatives with the same cases. These drugs don't work, don't listen to big pharmas right diet and exercise is the only thing that works.

  • Jesus was a Prophet, not the son of God. The message was distorted with time.

  • looks like your prophet too.

  • MagnesDrachen13 is a Big Pharma troll.

  • 4. I would like to see your "most school shooters/mass murderers were on anti-depressants" claim. Its easy to claim, but I don't trust unsourced claims.

  • Do your own research. I've done mine.

  • I've LIVED my research. I've felt he effects personally, I know the results. Calling me a troll shows ignorance on your part. I have dealt with this my whole life, I have seen it from all sides.

  • @prokopton this reply does nothing to enhance your credibility

  • @prokopton stupid answer ... if you know something and you have the proof just show the proof, don't expect other people to use the same (possibly flawed) search techniques as you. Gawd I hate people who instead of answering a simply, valid question just say the equivalent of 'well go and prove me wrong then'. It's just dumb pride on your part (plus it makes you look like you didn't do research that would stand up to scrutiny)

  • @stuartpaulmay There's nothing I have or need to prove to you.

  • @prokopton its very a very clever idea to be a doctor and a scientist, nice job.

but as i could understand to avoid depression one should intake serotonin by consuming eggs bananas, milk etc.

warning; chicken meat isnt safe anymore, i rode it in the news.the same is for pork and beef

  • 3. And on a personal level, I know this is bunk. I am bi polar and I tried the "all natural" herbal route. I might as well been taking air pills, it did nothing. I was active, I had a regular sleep schedule, etc. and I was still bi polar. I'm not saying anti-depressants always work either (they didn't for me, but I build a tolerance very quickly), but they do work for some people and I think its naive to just discount such effectiveness as "big pharma"

  • 1. Are you making the distinction between depression (which all people deal with from time to time) and clinical depression (bi polar disorder, postpartum depression, etc.)? There is a difference

    2. The still of the Virginia Tech shooting was in poor taste and just wrong. Its been proven that the shooter had NO DRUGS OF ANY KIND in his system at the time of the massacre.

  • also, i would have to disagree with the whole spirituality bit as would probably the entire atheist, agnostic and non-religious community. sure, if there are people struggling with their beliefs, that may cause depression symptoms simply because of the stress and worry they are putting themselves through. it is in no way the "lack of spirituality" that causes depression. people who waver with beliefs tend to have more depression, not the atheists with total lack of spirituality.

  • Not everyone who experiences depression have the same causes. For some, it's physiological, others psychological, mental, spiritual. To reduce the cause of depression to a chemical imbalance is very simplistic. What causes the chemical imbalance? Many things, different things in different people.

  • some good points here, and there's no denying that proper diet and exercise do play a role in our brain function but this video should not be taken as anything definitive regarding the causes and solutions of depression. for example if someone had perfect diet, plenty of exercise, great environment, and fulfilling spiritual and social life and they STILL became depressed...what would be the cause? the fact is, there are people like that. no one knows, even scientists, the exact causes.

  • I never had depression in my life. I was just curious what this vid was all about !!!!!!!!

  • Three Basic Formula that worked for me..

    1. Exercise (In morning I go to gym and at evening I play soccer for one hour)

    2. Take quality suppliments - B-complex, Omega3, Multivitamins, Drink water.

3.Good Sleep - Make strict schedule for bed. Go to sleep by 11 pm.

    Try it out. It works.

  • Same here. Good advice:)

  • I took cymbalta for 2 months, and am worse off now than i was before i started taking the pills. Go natural, medications are not worth it.

antidepressants=misery. This video was very informative, and the music was relaxing.

  • gd vid ! got a kick off the classical music :L

if anyones interested i found a e-book thats looks pretty helpful its in the information section of my vid . . . . ....

    ..........watch?v=r6IalZlQaHw . . . . . . . im not spaming im just trying to pass on some positive information :)

  • Good vid, lots of truth here... exercise, healthy eating, sunlight, proper rest, and peacefull music, and love for well being, peace all.

  • GOOD INFO. thank you for this.

  • I struggle with depression a lot but I don't for one minute think that antidepressants are a good thing.

I do eat lots of chicken and eggs, but I don't know that that really has helped much.

Perhaps I should try some 5-HTP suppliments?

  • Yeah it's worth it. It shouldn't be to harmful even if it doesn't work. In fact it is good for your body:) I'm not to sure serotonin is the ONLY reason people get depressed tho. Try to smile throughout the day, and laugh- even if it is forced, your brain will secrete beneficial products such as endorphins. Good luck!

  • keep up the good work ppl need to know the truth

  • the caption makes it a bit difficult to read :)

  • Turn off annotation option, bottom right of screen (upward pointing arrow.)

  • Oh *ding-dong* lol :P ...Excellent video :)

  • This helped a lot thx ;)

  • Read Explaining colours to a blind man. Not only will it enlighten many as to what living with a mental illness is like, it also gives comfort to those sufferers who think there is no hope and that they are alone. It is very informative, sometimes shocking but also very funny in parts. All in all, a good read and highly recommended.

  • So what should I do, as a vegetarian?

  • you should eat lots of bannanas, which has tryptophan and b6, and potassium helps lower blood pressure too which doesnt hurt

  • Thanks Osiris (:

  • ( ;

  • They do make omega-3 supplements, which (in theory) should be a suitable replacement. Though to be honest I have found vitamin-C to combat the blues effectively.

  • Very true, A healthy diet, plenty of physical activity and limiting sexual activity are all crucial for eliminating anxiety and depression

  • eh, sex is a good antidepressant :P

  • New Age Charlatan?

  • There's nothing "New" about meditation. It's been around for over 5,000 years, longer than prescription drugs. There's nothing "New" about Nutrition and it's relationship to health. Without food, you die. What's "New" about that?

    Uneducated retard?

  • Excellent point.

MyStaticAge is a perfect example of the millions of americans who have been very dumbed down, and can't even think for themselves anymore. And yes uneducated too.

  • Take SAMe or St. Johns Wort or 5-HTP, all natural, all are safe when properly taken.

  • I took 5-HTP for a month and then I started getting chest pain and then I quit.

  • omfg lol that's so funny!!! l

  • what's funny with this?

  • Is L-tryptophan works with social anxiety as well?

  • It helps with the biological cause of it but there are other causes, such as social (are you around toxic people?), environmental, mental (thought processes), emotions, and others. L-tryptophan helps alleviate one factor of social anxiety.

  • Depression caused by lack of spirituality??... please. But the rest of this vid is very interesting and confirms what I suspected for a long time, especially regards to mental health.

  • yes depression can be caused by lack of spirituality. I have a bad case of it. wouldn't surprise me if there's any more reason

  • 2:38 LOL

  • Totally agree with your naturalistic approach to healthy living . . . I like the list of foods, any one the best? As in most beneficial per serving size?

  • I think that milk (listed in the video) has many ill-effects on a large number of people. Millions of people are allergic to milk. North Americans consume the most milk, which is supposed to strengthen bones but North Americans have the highest rate of osteoporosis (weakening of bones).

I like turkey and poultry myself, without the skin.

As for serving size, it would depend on a person's weight? There's an average recommended serving size for most foods but I don't know what they are. :-(

  • are you trying to sell this product?

  • No.

  • so is there a bad side to taking L-tryptophan as a dietary supplement?

  • To the best of my knowledge, there aren't any side effects to taking L-tryptophan as long as you don't exceed the recommended dosage.

  • I don't see why you disabled the ratings, I would have gave you five stars

  • Many ratings for videos like this that speak out against psychiatry and the pharmaceutical industry have politics involved.

I was trying to keep the Big Pharma trolls from voting. Thank-you for the kind words, though. :-)

  • Good video... that was a joke yeah about linking low mental activity and using a magazine cover of a story on men and depression right? getting a bit tired of male bashing. too prevalent in society.

  • Some men fall into that category but many don't. :-)

I'm male so the picture was probably reflective of myself at the time. :-)

  • Great video! Did you used to work for the industry?

  • Thanks!

I didn't work in the industry. I was researching a lot of these things. It was just one of those things where I thought if I knew something other people must know it as well. As it turns out, it wasn't the case, so I created this video and channel.

  • 5-HTP wouldn't be as good of an antidepressant as an SSRI because serotonin made from 5-HTP would be broken down by MAO and wouldn't last all day, obviously. Depression also can also be caused by imbalances of dopamine, norepinephrine, and GABA, which SSRIs and 5-HTP do not increase.

  • 5 HTP would be effective if serotonin was the cause. SSRI would be more effective in the short-term because it acts faster. Over the long-run anything is natural will be more effective and safer. 5 HTP has to build up in the body, whereby drugs shock the body.

L-phenylalanine would increase dopamine and norepinphrine.

SSRIs do *not* increase serotonin or dopamine levels--they inhibit their uptake, thus the acronym: Selective Serotonin REUPTAKE INHIBITOR (SSRI).

  • Find a video called "A world without cancer". It talks about B-17 which is found in Apricot Kernals. I just bought 1kg.

And can someone tell me what is this music playing. I just love it.....

  • Music: Bach, Brandenburg Concerto No. 2.

    Watched the video. Loved it.

  • Excuse me, but this is the biggest generalization I've seen in a long time. I'm bipolar but my diet has, for the past 10 years, been very very healthy. Although diet plays a very important role, it is not the only contributor to depression.

  • The videos lists several causes of depression. This video only looked at the biological cause of it. Other factors/causes include psychological, spiritual, environmental, social...as shown in the video. Watch it again when you get a chance.

  • I would buy 5 HTP but the costs of it here are way too high for a 30 day dose. Its definately a supplement only for the yuppies in rich area's that can afford to keep buying it.

  • 5 HTP costs less than meds where I live: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

  • Lucky Man! Canada is a nice place with a good social and governmental system so i hear. Maybe i should move to either there or Denmark :)

  • Wow your video is awesome I work in a psych ward and deal with the side effects of reuptake inhibitors.

  • Sperm contains huge amounts of zinc, and when it is lost it can increase copper and deplete zinc.

Excessive masterbation therefore can cause ill-health, a zinc supplement may help these men.

  • The damage results in the symptoms of bladder and prostate problems; frequent urination, incontinency, semen leakage, enlarged prostate, etc.

  • Masturbation depletes the brain and spinal fluids of acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin and the hormones such as hGH, DHEA, testosterone, thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3), neurotransmitters that are responsible for human functioning and very important when it comes to sex. This deficiency melts the brain's acetylcholine/parasympathetic, dopamine and serotonin nervous functions and your endocrine functions.

  • Awesome video, good responses!

  • Great video, very informative..I was wondering whether to buy L-trptophan as a supplement or go with 5-HTP which is also a supplement. Any ideas on how they compare?

  • L-tryptohpan is closest to the source of food for supplement. Food source --> L-tryptophan --> 5 HTP --> Serotonin/melatonin...

If you need serotonin specifically for depression or insomnia, it may be better to go with 5 HTP. 5 HTP converts about 70% to serotonin, whereby l-tryptophan only covertst to about 5% to serotonin. 5 HTP also converts to serotonin faster.

For serotonin, 5 HTP is probably a better bet.

  • A good book for depression is

"Feeling Good" by David D Burns.

  • Based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I enjoyed it.

  • If there's a biological cause to your depression, take nutrients (vitamins, minerals...). Your body is made of nutrients. Chemical imbalance = nutritional deficiency.

Almost every drug is an imitation of a substance found in Nature. It's against the law to patent natural substances so drug companies synthesize molecules and patent them in labs.

There is no conspiracy theory. Big Pharma is a business out to make money by getting you hooked on their drugs.

  • Sperm contains lots of proteins and proteins contain a lot of neurochemicals when down and digested by the body. There may some validity to what you're stating. Could you provide some links?

  • It's mainly a prolem of copper containing proteins that are used by body to mielinisate neurons and used in liver to metabolise fats.

So if you have high triglicerydes or fatty liver - your depression is caused by lack of copper in your brain.

no scientist on Earth will write that as the medical industry gives money for living.

The easy way to recover is lettuce, liver, beef, avocado and dill. All this at least 4 hours away from any dairy product as milk proteins block absorption of copper.

  • So just eat alot of food that contain copper?

I will try this. I always feel weak after masturbation. Going to eat a lot of vegetables now- no alcohol- no masturbation for a few months and see what happens.

  • You are so right and yet no one wants to believe you. Excessive masturbation causes pschysical and mental problems.

There are plenty of webpages that warns you for excessive masturbation. Masturbation = evil. It's not only copper that depletes from your brain but also many other minerals, proteins and other stuff. Just eat healthy indeed and stop this bad habit, it's a very unnatural thing to do.

  • So true. I still read more webpages where they warn for excessive masturbation/sex, just use google. It's a very unnatural thing to do. You lose a lot of important minerals/proteins and overproduction neurotransmitters/hormones (like serotonine wich causes depression). Mental weakness and pschysical problems are the results of excessive masturbation. It's just funny that many people are suggesting that sex is healthy, it's not.

  • I suppose what you are talking about is ejaculation. If a man makes love to his wife every day, or even twicw a day, then do all these things apply to him? Or does it have something to do with the hand withdrawl method?

  • Depression is not caused by a chemical imbalance. Psychiatrist's themselves admit that there is no proof that any such thing exists. No proof.

What there IS proof of is that a minimum of63.000 kids have died from drugs that supposed to treat the invented mental illness named ADHD. Many of these got depressed by the drugs and committed suicide.

It is also proved that pharmas earn billions from these useless drugs and that users really suffer when trying to get off the "medication".

  • Great music I was just waiting for the old Triple H to walk in XD

    ;)

  • rice, potatoes, bananas, walnuts, etc, etc, etc, etc,......we cannot patent life. C'iao.

  • good video

    only one remark on it.

no drug, no supplement can replace self love. Without genuine self love, all the therapy and medicine in the world can't fix you. Sure, supplements make your mind and body work better. Than can relieve tons of symptoms. But they can't teach you to love yourself. The power of self love is stronger than any of these alternative medicines.

  • Jane:

You are absolutely correct about self-love. This video only looked at the biological cause, or of the biological causes.

Self-love, well that's psychological and spiritual, which your videos examine very well. I highly recommend SFJane's videos for examining the psychological and spiritual causes of depression and other mental illnesses.

  • You have the right idea, but the source of "love" is not self. God is the source and Jesus is the means by which we receive it. His love in us is what heals, nothing of ourselves can heal anything. If that was so,(self love) why are so many people suffering?

  • thank you for posting..this information is very very helpful. I appreciate it

  • You're welcome!

    Thank-your for the feedback.

  • Hello, great video. I take 5-htp, should I be taking L Trytophan as well?

Is there any harm in me taking these for long periods? Should I take breaks?

  • 5 HTP is derived from L-Tryptophan, so if you're already taking 5 HTP, you do not have to take l-tryptophan.

There has been no deaths or harm from taking dietary supplements for long periods. But you may want to read up on this.

  • The conversion process is

Food source --> L-tryptohpan --> 5 HTP --> Serotonin , then it converts to Melatonin and Niacin?

5 HTP is one step faster than taking L-Tryptophan, but I prefer taking l-tryptophan because of its purity (closest to the source of either food or supplement).

Taking breaks--I did read somewhere that taking a break is recommended.

  • psychiatric drugs absolutely save lives. bogus tom cruise scientology crap kills people! evolve and learn the truth.

  • If psychiatric drugs save lives, then why are there "Black Box" warning labels on them? The side effects of psychiatric drugs are many times worse than the symptoms they're intended to treat.

What does Scientology have to do with the fact that the 3rd leading death in the U.S. is caused from side effects of pharmaceutical drugs? ? ?

Yes, it's time to evolve and learn the truth.

  • what no answer for prokopton mr. poop?

where is your smart ass answer to that?

let me explain why your miraculous psychiatric drugs have black box warnings That is because people under the influence of them, kill themselves and others. Saves live my ass. evolve and learn the truth kiddo

  • Mr. Poop doesn't want to answer my question because he knows the truth, which you've stated. :-)

The worst thing that can happen to a product is an outright ban. Second worse is Black Box warning.

Prescription pills are products to be consumed by "consumers." Pills are purposely designed to be addictive. It's a business model-- a perpetual source of recurring revenues.

  • I'm NOT a Scientologist. Nice try, though. :-)

  • Your scientologist agenda is not masked very well in this piece. I love how boldly you assert that depression (this "universal" malady affecting millions of people-- is a choice--and the result of a lack of spirituality. The only remotely intelligent thing about these tid-bits of half-truths masquerading as "reason" and "common sense" was the quote from Buddha. I wholeheartedly accept that advice-- especially when it comes to viewing your film.

  • That is the modus operandi of the pharmaceutical industry: anyone who speaks the truth about their agenda is immediately labeled a "scientologist" in an attempt discredit them.

I'm not a Scientist. I'm a Buddhist. Watch my videos and those of others and let the truth speak for itself.

  • You're a PharmaRat and need to learn how to interpret and perceive information accurately.

I've listed two of many possible causes of depression: it's a choice and lack of spirituality. These are two many I've listed.

You're a dirty, lying PharmaRat who trolls YouTube for videos that expose the dirty, lying pharmaceutical industry and labeling their creators as Scientologists.

Why are there Black Box warning labels on some Antidepressants now?
