@cerbetusan correct, strelok tried to get into the power plant, but as soon as it realised that people were too close, it released a large emssion, causing them to get wound up in that room, then strelok was brain washed and programed to kill himself, thats where shadow of chernobyl comes in, i really don't know what call of pripyat has to do with any of this though
Well since in call of pripyat we can see strelok at the end, what the military and Degtayriev (idk how his name is written so i'll call him major) want the information where he was in the brain scorcher, the center of the zone and everything. So Major asks him if the monolith (wish granter) is a lie and stuff ... Strelok has information noone else does that's why you have to protect him at the end. I think then stalker 2 comes in after that

I don't get it.... In SoC, that is, the first part of the game, you (Strelok) choose your ending (I'm not spoiling anything)... If in the SoC, Strelok joined that experiment (the real ending), zone continue to exist..... My question is simple.... If he joined that experiment and emissions began, how the fuck is he again in the zone, why would Strelok do that, how is THIS ending possible!?!? He looks like he's brain is totally fried, But in "call of Pripyat" you see Strelok and he is normal!?!?
@pptmstrMagiC the story of clear sky plays 2011...one year before SoC. you remember? at the beginning in SoC, strelok seems to be on the exploded truck...with many others. such as he is in the corridor at the end in clear sky. maybe scar was in the truck too...

For me it would feel like the begining of (soc) was quite after this, and so i guess it would mean that strelok here would have got some another false ilusion wish granter thing, and eventually getting captured by c-conscious whatever people and getting brain washed.
@STALKERX9 Every single Stalker in the Zone has tried to get to the Center ever since the Zone appeared. Strelok and his group were the first ones to get past the protective barrier (Brain Scorchers), which launched the huge Blowout in the start of Clear Sky.
In short, he's trying to achieve what every single Stalker is attempting: Get to the center, find out all its secrets, maybe see the Wish Granter. Don't see what the devs would have "forgotten", as it's all so simple.
The ending to Clear Sky kinda sucked, i liked Shadow of Chernobyl's ending a lot better because it had different endings depending on your behavior through the game.

@fraghetti: In the Clear Sky, you are not Strelok, you are a veteran stalker, called SCAR, who has to hunt down Strelok. In the SOC you are Strelok, but you will find it out at the half of the game, and the task, says "kill Strelok" will fail.
In CoP I remembered seeing a few antiemission drugs at X8 meaning that ozersky wasnt the first to invent them. What is more stranger is that Lebedev worked in X8. Why didnt he supply the clear sky with them? I guess its because Lebedev wasnt doing his research in medicine and he wasnt aware of it.
and so to be clear there is no other ending in clear sky besides this ? like " good ending / bad ending / choises based ending " and so in like in shadow of cernobyl or call of prypiat ?because i ended clear sky and ia no bugs just update the version of the game , and ... i dont understand the ending..,sombodi can give me a hand in this ?

well, after beating SoC ages ago, and pripyat recently, i just HAD to beat this one for the full story.
gotto say, the beginning is kinda bugged, but its ok-ish, its play-ble. ( thanks to the complete 2009 mod). gotto say tho, the further i got into the game the buggy-er it got lol. took me allot of effort to keep playing but finally pulled through, have to say, the ending is disappointing as fck lol. also, why the hell did the are go boom after shooting strelok? wasnt it "personal" protection?
@killerkeks55 hmm i played the 3 stalker almost on release day and the only one with a truely gamebreaking bug was clear sky. There was a bug with a npc that wouldnt let you out of the swamp for some reason but other than that i found the game enjoyable. If you explain around where you are stuck someone will probably be able to help you. If not, check out gamefaqsdotcom (sorry for advertisement).

Ok this is fking confusing...in S.T.A.L.K.E.R SoC u are Strelok and the other stalkers help u blow up the CNPP...but u kill Strelok in S.T.A.L.K.E.R CS because hes brainwashed(or something like that), and in S.T.A.L.K.E.R CoP u were sent to discover the truth of the missing helicopters and at the end of the game Strelok comes and gives you info about the anomalies and after that he is saved by the helicopter...I know maybe im a noob but can anyone tell me the true story?

you dont kill strelok in clear sky strelok is brainswashed by c-coincionsess (who didnt recodnise strelok) to kill strelok but seing as how he was brainswashed he forgot his iddentity and stalekr call of pripyat is more of a spin off rather than a sequel in stalker CoP you are a guy sent by the military to investigate the mysterios chooper crashes in the zone then in the end strelok comes and explaines why they crashed

Just like the first, the story just dissapears about 10% the way. Instead of answering questions it adds more. No artifacts in game or mutants. So, Strleok sits there for a year and is loaded. Does not explain his PDA "Kill Strelok." Only reason I'm replaying is because of faction wars. After another let down in the series I dought I'll get STALK3R.
Yeah, if you play all of the games, everything makes great sense. If you pay attention to the little details, like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Tatto on streloks arm right at the end of clear sky, and the fact that the person you played on in the first game had that same tatto? Also the whole thing of monolith is explained in pripyat, so your missing out if you dont play that game.
I've cleared it. -.- I doesn't answer anything it just adds more questions. Free play is an effing joke, they might as well left it out because when you get everything done there's no point in going back, might as well just start a new game.
1) Charon can be found lower levels of monolith hq
2) during that blowout everyone within radius of the plant, Duty, Clear Sky or otherwise are hit and begins succumbing to the effects of the emission, so yeah the result of that blowout can be seen at the ending cutsceneen.
you see, when you disable sterloks shield, CS boss says when that emmision starts: "what? argh! my head!"
i know SoC takes place year after CS, i too finished it. i said its a long shot, but they dont really say he is dead, he is probably programmed to be one of the monolith soldiers and it would be strange if c-conciousness wouldnt exploit scars skills, i mean he managed too reach center of the zone killing many monolith soldiers.
and that figureheads name is Charon, who carries Vintar Bc, same weapon Scar had in cutscenes
its a long shot but scar might be one of the monolith soldiers you fight in Pripyat ...actually scar might be figurehead of them...i mean one high ranking monolith dude has same "signature" weapon as scar, Vintar BC

I mean what kind of retarded ending is this. I played through the game and all its glitches and random shut-downs/crashes for a stupid anti-climax. GSC has the worst quality control standards when it comes to games.
too late. I always make it a chore to finish a game when I buy it, but after seeing this ending, it isn't even worth trying to navigate the cluster of glitches and problems. And I have a high end PC. And besides, every other mission is either killing bandits or mutants....and then killing some more bandits and mutants

You spend the whole game talking about reaching the centre of the zone and when you finally get there it's a rush job. No time to explore or admire all the effort GSC put into replicating the Chernobyl plant & surrounding areas.

The guy lying there shaking is Strelok, the one you chase throughout Clear Sky. They're being brainwashed by C-Consciousness which brainwashes stalkers into obeying it in its quest to forge world peace through global subordination. They all die in the room or become Monolith soldiers you fight in the first game except Strelok who gets taken away in a death truck thus begins the first game.
As to how they got in that room I dunno. Its pretty messed up

I think I get the ending now.. I think it makes sense.. My only guess is that the Merc you played in this game dies from the emission. (Like any other emission kills you normally.) So instead it focuses on Strelok, who appears to be getting brainwashed(Remember those Russian experiments where all the damn mutants were?) with all the other people by Monolith+C-Conciousness. Only, ironically, they pick Strelok to "kill" Strelok and send him away on the death truck... I hope. Lol.

of course gauss guns exist, but hand held ones have not yet been perfected because of the extreme heat and kick back you get from firing one, the american army have made them, its just a projectile being accelerated to very high speeds using electro magnetic coils, and there are no mutants or anomalies in chernobyl..... the chernobyl incident was a meltdown of reactor core 4 in the chernobyl power plant, and since then most of chernobyl and pripyat, and other towns are covered in radiation.
but there are no mutants no anomalies, just radiation, and people are only just starting to re enter the country now... thats where the red forest in clear sky comes from, the red forest in real life, its called that because the heat and radiation from the meltdown scorched and radiated the trees, and now all the trees are red, compared to when they used to be green
mate a rail gun, uses electrical coils and electro magnets to send a charge through a projectile, a gauss gun does not, a gauss gun uses coils to electromagnetically accelerate the projectile, but i was wrong about the heat thing, the heat is generated in both, but moreso in rail guns
clear sky is totally messed up, but although it made everything in SoC made sense. now i do understand why does it called clear sky. Clear Sky hapens before SOC. The ending scene shows how Strelok becomes The Marked One and ends in the Death Truck at the begining of SOC, if you understand what I mean.

Yeah, Bes is in there too. The Stalker Loner Leader, in SoC, he's in Garbage, the leader of the, concentration camp I believe it's called? it's got all the abandoned vehicles.
Clear sky is not a sequel. You see, Strelok (you in SoC) is trying to stop the Zone by destroying C-Con. You, not knowing this, try to stop him because Clear Sky thinks he's going to cause an emission that will kill everone in the Zone.
You stop him but the emission happens and after that you and strelok get theirselves brainwashed. Story doesn't tell where Mercenary Scar goes after this, but Strelok, brainwashed, joins Monolith. Then comes the truck delivery that happened in intro of SoC.
Re on myself: I wrote wrong. They did not became zombies in that brainwashing room. It was a thing at yantar undeground (think it was called the brainwasher) that made everyone who passed its phywaves to become zombiez. It melted their minds so they got screwed up. You will innactivate the device in SoC
For these who dont know, the monolith took in strelok among hundreds of other people and put them into brainwashing. This is a possible reason for all these zombiez that are in stalker. But Strelok just got blakout it seems and ended up somewhere in the zone among others who ended up dead. So a deathtruck came to pick up some bodies and it got hit by thunder and crashed down the road. When morning came a stalker went to the site and found strelok alive and thats where shadow of chernobyl begins.
Idiot. Why would they buy Cryengine 3, when they already have a self-engineered engine, the X-Ray. They put so much time and effort into creating that engine, that they definetly won't develop the sequel (if there will be any, because it ISN'T announced yet) on a different engine. And to top that why would they choose, the slow, unoptimized Cryengine, they would be better of with UE3.
I just can't understand this. After Strelok's device fails, everyone dies in that huge blowout. Except for Strelok? What happens to him? They collected the corpse to make zombies but Strelok is still alive?
After reading your post I went and looked up CryEngine 3, instead of 2012 like we all thought. It looks as though it will be here this fall! Stalker on cryengine will blow away all games bar none!

well, after beating SoC ages ago, and pripyat recently, i just HAD to beat this one for the full story.
gotto say, the beginning is kinda bugged, but its ok-ish, its play-ble. ( thanks to the complete 2009 mod). gotto say tho, the further i got into the game the buggy-er it got lol. took me allot of effort to keep playing but finally pulled through, have to say, the ending is disappointing as fck lol. also, why the hell did the are go boom after shooting strelok? wasnt it "personal" protection?

@killerkeks55 hmm i played the 3 stalker almost on release day and the only one with a truely gamebreaking bug was clear sky. There was a bug with a npc that wouldnt let you out of the swamp for some reason but other than that i found the game enjoyable. If you explain around where you are stuck someone will probably be able to help you. If not, check out gamefaqsdotcom (sorry for advertisement).

first there is Stalker Clear Sky then we get back to Shadow of Chernobyl where Clear Sky story bout Strelok continues...but he loses his memories in s.o.c. , the Other guy behind him is his friend (I don't remember his name - -' )

Ok this is fking confusing...in S.T.A.L.K.E.R SoC u are Strelok and the other stalkers help u blow up the CNPP...but u kill Strelok in S.T.A.L.K.E.R CS because hes brainwashed(or something like that), and in S.T.A.L.K.E.R CoP u were sent to discover the truth of the missing helicopters and at the end of the game Strelok comes and gives you info about the anomalies and after that he is saved by the helicopter...I know maybe im a noob but can anyone tell me the true story?

you dont kill strelok in clear sky strelok is brainswashed by c-coincionsess (who didnt recodnise strelok) to kill strelok but seing as how he was brainswashed he forgot his iddentity and stalekr call of pripyat is more of a spin off rather than a sequel in stalker CoP you are a guy sent by the military to investigate the mysterios chooper crashes in the zone then in the end strelok comes and explaines why they crashed

isnt Strelok supposed to die in Soc? He had to make a wish or he had to destroy all monoliths when he met the ghost scientist. And i killed him in daylight. It is best when its daylight.

Just like the first, the story just dissapears about 10% the way. Instead of answering questions it adds more. No artifacts in game or mutants. So, Strleok sits there for a year and is loaded. Does not explain his PDA "Kill Strelok." Only reason I'm replaying is because of faction wars. After another let down in the series I dought I'll get STALK3R.

Yeah, if you play all of the games, everything makes great sense. If you pay attention to the little details, like the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Tatto on streloks arm right at the end of clear sky, and the fact that the person you played on in the first game had that same tatto? Also the whole thing of monolith is explained in pripyat, so your missing out if you dont play that game.

1) Charon can be found lower levels of monolith hq
2) during that blowout everyone within radius of the plant, Duty, Clear Sky or otherwise are hit and begins succumbing to the effects of the emission, so yeah the result of that blowout can be seen at the ending cutsceneen.
you see, when you disable sterloks shield, CS boss says when that emmision starts: "what? argh! my head!"
so pretty much everyone ended up as agents of CC

i know SoC takes place year after CS, i too finished it. i said its a long shot, but they dont really say he is dead, he is probably programmed to be one of the monolith soldiers and it would be strange if c-conciousness wouldnt exploit scars skills, i mean he managed too reach center of the zone killing many monolith soldiers.
and that figureheads name is Charon, who carries Vintar Bc, same weapon Scar had in cutscenes

too late. I always make it a chore to finish a game when I buy it, but after seeing this ending, it isn't even worth trying to navigate the cluster of glitches and problems. And I have a high end PC. And besides, every other mission is either killing bandits or mutants....and then killing some more bandits and mutants

At least introduce some new bigger tougher armoured bad guys. Not guys spawning from nowhere. It totally ruins any sense of immersion.
In SoC I just resorted to dashing past everyone hitting the medkit button.
You spend the whole game talking about reaching the centre of the zone and when you finally get there it's a rush job. No time to explore or admire all the effort GSC put into replicating the Chernobyl plant & surrounding areas.

It is confusing but here it is:
The guy lying there shaking is Strelok, the one you chase throughout Clear Sky. They're being brainwashed by C-Consciousness which brainwashes stalkers into obeying it in its quest to forge world peace through global subordination. They all die in the room or become Monolith soldiers you fight in the first game except Strelok who gets taken away in a death truck thus begins the first game.
As to how they got in that room I dunno. Its pretty messed up

I think I get the ending now.. I think it makes sense.. My only guess is that the Merc you played in this game dies from the emission. (Like any other emission kills you normally.) So instead it focuses on Strelok, who appears to be getting brainwashed(Remember those Russian experiments where all the damn mutants were?) with all the other people by Monolith+C-Conciousness. Only, ironically, they pick Strelok to "kill" Strelok and send him away on the death truck... I hope. Lol.

of course gauss guns exist, but hand held ones have not yet been perfected because of the extreme heat and kick back you get from firing one, the american army have made them, its just a projectile being accelerated to very high speeds using electro magnetic coils, and there are no mutants or anomalies in chernobyl..... the chernobyl incident was a meltdown of reactor core 4 in the chernobyl power plant, and since then most of chernobyl and pripyat, and other towns are covered in radiation.

mate a rail gun, uses electrical coils and electro magnets to send a charge through a projectile, a gauss gun does not, a gauss gun uses coils to electromagnetically accelerate the projectile, but i was wrong about the heat thing, the heat is generated in both, but moreso in rail guns

IT CLEARS THE WHOLE STORY! anyway i was disappointed that the chara we were played in SoC were an asshole here, then gets his redemption in SoC (real good ending where he destroyed c-con tube-thingy)

Clear Sky hapens before SOC. The ending scene shows how Strelok becomes The Marked One and ends in the Death Truck at the begining of SOC, if you understand what I mean.

Clear sky is not a sequel. You see, Strelok (you in SoC) is trying to stop the Zone by destroying C-Con. You, not knowing this, try to stop him because Clear Sky thinks he's going to cause an emission that will kill everone in the Zone.
You stop him but the emission happens and after that you and strelok get theirselves brainwashed. Story doesn't tell where Mercenary Scar goes after this, but Strelok, brainwashed, joins Monolith. Then comes the truck delivery that happened in intro of SoC.

It was a thing at yantar undeground (think it was called the brainwasher) that made everyone who passed its phywaves to become zombiez. It melted their minds so they got screwed up. You will innactivate the device in SoC

For these who dont know, the monolith took in strelok among hundreds of other people and put them into brainwashing. This is a possible reason for all these zombiez that are in stalker. But Strelok just got blakout it seems and ended up somewhere in the zone among others who ended up dead. So a deathtruck came to pick up some bodies and it got hit by thunder and crashed down the road. When morning came a stalker went to the site and found strelok alive and thats where shadow of chernobyl begins.

Idiot. Why would they buy Cryengine 3, when they already have a self-engineered engine, the X-Ray. They put so much time and effort into creating that engine, that they definetly won't develop the sequel (if there will be any, because it ISN'T announced yet) on a different engine. And to top that why would they choose, the slow, unoptimized Cryengine, they would be better of with UE3.

On S.O.C, Strelok is collected by the deathtruck, but it is interrupted by lightning half way there.
Oh, And may I add.
I doubt these guys are zombies, The Zombies are formed from Phywaves to the head, Whilst these bunch look like there getting brainwashed.
In S.O.C, The Recovered person has S.T.A.L.K.E.R on their arm, Later found out he is Strelok, The guy in the ending has S.T.A.L.K.E.R on his arm.
