  • I like the word associations, but some of the associations can cause confusion for young children: Can you envision kids standing in a cemetery worrying about the headstones being graven images... or wondering what VEINS have to do with taking the name of the Lord in VAIN... #7... you might want to say instead, "In heaven people don't break marriage vows" or something to that effect. #10 needs explanation of what it is "to covet". Altogether a good video. Thanks! :o)

  • Wow I did learn the commandments with word association!

  • On the Saturday v Sunday controversy try google on that issue. In short I believe that Sunday became the day for Christians because Jesus traditionally rose on that day. Sunday as the first day of the week, while historically accurate, is not a work day in our culture. But in light of God's command to work 6 days and rest on the 7th day, "Keeping the Sabbath" is resting the last day of the work week. So taking the last day in your work week off, is obeying the commandment in my opinion.

  • I'm just curious i google and i think in mathew about God's creation God rested on the sabbath and so are we. Right? But it says sabbath is the 7th day of the week and the last day of the week. Sunday is the 1st day and Saturday is the 7th and the Last day of the week. I used dictionary also and it has the same description about sabbath.. How come that Sunday is our Sabbath Day?

  • I've been following your discussion with GodVlogger. My question is, why Jews, Jesus, and the Bible refer to Saturday as Sabbath, but most Jesus-followers worship on Sundays. God has to know the difference between Saturday and Sunday?

  • The sabbath is the 7th day (Saturday) of the week. Not the first day of the week;) Satan has it backwards and the world is following it.

  • I took my wife out to pancakes after church this morning. If Jesus can eat grain on the sabbath so can we. The big picture here is honoring God by taking a day of rest from your usual work and remembering Him with your family.

  • @derekpackard Food for Thought: I was always taught that by shopping on the Sabbath, by going out to eat on the Sabbath, that we caused others to break the Lord's Holy Day... because they were required to work. As such, I have always made a concerted effort to shop on the day beforehand and never shop or eat out on the Sabbath unless it is a dire emergency. I also appreciate it when my employer does not require me to break the Sabbath for the convenience of others who flagrantly flaunt it.

  • @derekpackard PS. In my reply about what I was taught, I was not trying to insinuate that by taking your family out to eat on the Sabbath that you are "flagrantly flaunting" the Lord's day... just pointing out that your eating out causes others to have to break it. I figure what you do with your family is between you and the Lord, and there are perhaps other ways that I have failed to keep the Lord's day holy. Not trying to be holier than thou! :o)

  • Regarding stores being closed on Sundays, we don't really follow that, do we? I know many parishioners who go out for family pancake breakfast after Sunday services, but according to this video (and the Bible) I guess that is breaking one of God's Top Ten Commandments, right?

  • @GodVlogger We all need a day of rest. By "we" I assume you mean Christians today don't . But that doesn't make it God's best. Chick Fillet, a major fast food chain does, and I admire them for it. Sabbath laws were common in the U.S. not that long ago. I am a businessman who honors the Sabbath and there is a special blessing in doing that. I believe if I treat Sunday as a common day, I'm dishonoring God. Don't lie, don't murder, and keep the Sabbath Mat 12:1-14

  • @derekpackard You note that you are "a businessman who honors the Sabbath". Which day do you consider to be the Sabbath?

  • @GodVlogger Sunday is our day of rest...how about you?

  • I love this.... it helped me to learn then ... and im 13 !!!!! Hahahahaha, and yes, it is great for kids of all ages :)

  • Good for kids easy to understand and remember
