Transportation, for garbage disposal also did it. It added a 26% hike.

Now a big corporation is fighting the farmers here that provide their own heat to force themselves to be able to build a huge biomass (burning) production plant here with a history of burning chemicals. They are pushing taxes on individuals wood burning stoves.

Every single light bulb in my house is CFL, every appliance/TV and the computer is energy star. My house is a 2 year old energy star home. I took many many measures on my own to increase it's energy efficiency. In the summer the thermostat is set to 78F (25C). In the winter it is set to 68F (20C). I drive an SUV because I have a large family that wont fit in a sedan. My Christmas lights are LED and cost 10 cents total to operate over the holidays.

We're moving to LED, have added some self energy options to our house, and plan to add Geothermal pump, don't use air cond because I don't like it, winter heat set to 68, don't use Xmas lights, and drive an SUV because where I live you must have 4WD or you'll get stuck in the road which often is steep hills of dirt or gravel with up to 200 ft dropoffs. We go organic and process our food.

Currently looking at solar cells to add.

I'd like our President to clearly explain how Cap and Trade will not adversely impact the US economy. To artificially drive the cost of petroleum products up (include crude oil and ultimately gasoline) will not benefit our ailing economy? This policy is intended to make alternative energy sources (which currently are higher cost) relatively attractive to consumers and theoretically facilitate moving away from foreign oil dependence.
