残念ながら これは West Japan Raiway Company の中でも、最も収益性が悪い路線です。

Japan Railway Group の各社は、元々国有鉄道であったのを民営化して発足した歴史的な­経緯があるため、自動車を運転できない住民に対する社会貢献のた­め、廃止をするのも難しいのです。

多くの場合は、地方自治体からの運行支援（資金）で存続してはい­ますが、経済が低迷を続けている時代ですから、将来への展望は厳­しいものとなっています。
