Sharks aren't the man eaters that movies like Jaws make them out to be. Most won't attack something as large as a person, and won't even attack fish unless they're injured. There are a few more aggressive sharks that you have to be able to identify and stay away from (great white, mako, hammerhead, tiger) but most of them will let you know if they're going to do anything by circling and bumping you to test you before they bite.

That said, all bets are off when theres blood or a lot of thrashing

I was surprised to see the mottled pattern on the guitarfish; the ones I've seen at the shores are always plain grayish-brown. Might this have been a banded guitarfish (cousin to the shovelnose)? It certainly looked like one, but it also looked like a juvenile; it's possible that young shovelnose guitarfish start out with that pattern and lose it over time. Either way, *beautiful* work! I look forward to diving the Shores at night some day.

Really nice vid! To answer the question about the Marine Room, it's a restaurant in La Jolla, but the beach at that location is also called the Marine Room. Great pics of guitar fish and vermilion rockfish (yum) and horned shark...the lobsters always look funny with their antennae waving about! Great to see the squid and the squid eggs!!! It's a sandy bottom at that spot, but further south a few dozen yards you find reef. You can swim from the Marine Room to La Jolla Cove, it's a nice swim :)

nice 1 m8,always love your work. me and my m8 are going to australia next week to dive in the GBR and c sum kl shit. we went diving in america last week but it didnt go as planned (great white crumpled the cage to hell so we were in free water with a 17ft great white)....i look at life so differently now considering i nearly lost mine 5 days ago lol

LOL the crab at the begining is funny. I like this kind of fish at 02:34. It feels like it has wings. The fish at the end of the video, it sems like if it's wearing a crown. Really cool video :) Watching it in high quality is even cooler.

How far down were you on this dive?

On this dive we reached a maximum deepth of 75ft., but most of the dive was spent around 50-60ft.
