@billtamer Sorry I'd forgotten what I'd written in the description. Both games have sections which are set in the city of Prypiat, which is why they'd look the same. If that's what you mean. And it's the best because you get to visit the famous, deserted city and then on to Chernobyl. It was very new at the time as CoD4 wasn't out yet.

@Webowebo8 you fell of the dead truck in "the zone", the area around the chernobyl NPP that was created 6 years before in 2012, during some illegal experiments, performed by some scientists who made the NPP "explode" a second time.

now there are a shitload of artifacts and other mysterious things in this zone which are worth a lot of money, and the so called "stalkers" are going for them, fighting each other and the mutated animals and humans in this zone

Nope, some places of Chernobyl aren't too bad in radiation levels anymore. Pripyat is pretty low now, but you still can't stay for long.

The Radiation areas are kinda fucked up. Irl the ferris wheel is one of the most radioactive places of chernobyl but in the game it doesnt give out any reaction on the radiaton bar >.>

Wrong. Pripyat is low on radiation now. You can go there for a few hours and be fine. Red Forest is the worst.

Prypyat is still very radioactive. Yes you can be there for some hours but you should get really hurt if you lived there.

Yes, you CAN go into Pripyat- it is legal and (marginally) safe for temporary visiting. Some peopel have taken videos form inside Pripyat...

Anomalies are different than radiation in STALKER. Radiation in this game is signified with clicks from the geiger counter and colour changes on the screen, Anomilies' presence is signified by beeps and whitening of the screen.

I don't know much about ATI cards, but I'd guess it'll work just wont look as pretty as it could. And it depends on the rest of your hardware.

It'll run just as pretty. The fact that it was "developed for nVidia" means that they developed it mainly, using nVidia cards and that you might get a difference of up to 10 fps if you use Ati instead, unless the developers fucked up. Mainly that tag is commercialising nVidia cuz they probably sponsored the developers a bit.

To get the best out of the game you'd want the best CPU you can afford, a 8800GTX and 2GB+ RAM. I'm using Core2 Duo and 7950GT and it runs well enough at medium settings.

It'll run on lesser systems if you reduce the settings. It's pretty flexible just wont look as nice, obviously.
