I'm curious what is your best time in Paris, and New York in daytime? In Paris I went 2:15:00 Avg Speed: 159mph Top Speed: 272mph in GT-One, and New York I managed to do 2:28:26 Avg Speed: 140mph, Top Speed: 235mph in GT-One.

I always play on hard difficulty, with the traffic on classic that is how I got all my lap times just now. Playing in New York is a HUGE pain in the ass because the CPU is so aggressive and the cops are always in the way. The racers and cops on hard difficulty show no mercy which is why I like playing the game on hard. You do have a point though, on tournaments it seems as though they are even harder

I don't know if the difficulty settings affect tournament conditions with cop cars, behavior of the city cars, and the skill of the other 5 racers, but I play with the difficulty on hard.

Just out of curiosity, do you play on hard difficulty? That time in New York especially blows my mind, due to the amount of skill it took me to get the 2:42:20.

Also, do you notice that the other racers, the cops, and the city traffic seem to get more hard on you as your racing abilities increase?

The reason I ask about the game becoming harder on the user is because I think there must be a flaw in the game. The TVR Speed 12 and even the Project Vantage sometimes are on my tail in the tracks that requires extreme turning (in fact, the TVR Speed 12 got 2:03:_ in Jordan BWD!). I have also noticed that when I am going, say, 212 mph with my Toyota GT-One, the Viper GTS-R is keeping up with me on the map! And, when I finish the race and see its top speed, it says 186 mph. LOL.

LMFAO, I have noticed that alot. On hard difficulty, the CPU racers seem to have some sort of acceleration boost I am pretty sure you've seen this before where out of nowhere they go EXTREMELY fast especially in tunnels such as paris. So I am guessing that is how they manage to keep up with the player. One example was when I was going 230 mph with the GT-40 (of course with hard difficulty on) a GTS-R came out of NOWHERE and past me in the tunnel in paris.

I believe just how the game will slow down a CPU player for you when you're slow when first starting to race, it also speeds up one player beyond its default capabilities to keep you challenged. I hate this, because they only get in the way!

Also, why can't you match my score in Pelton Raceway, when you can average 180 mph in Hong Kong!? That track has no cops or any other interferences! Do you ever try engine adjustments geared toward lower top speeds and higher acceleration?

@4EverTrying check this out this video shows you the CPU cars accelerating really fast in the tunnels in test drive 6. That shit is insane, I think that is how they keep up with the player bro. LMAOOOOO, I kno my Pelton track time sucks balls. I realized I made an error earlier, in Paris FWD my top speed is 272mph not 217mph srry about that. I don't think I ever tried the engine configurations like you said I need to try that out

O_O...I have never actually seen a car fly that high in the air (I did once when I was in a collision, though), however, I do recognize how they seem to dive at me with unjustifiable high speeds when clearly I am out of reach due to the Toyota GT-ONE's superior top speed (and perfect driving too). Wow, this could very well explain the boosts. No wonder they can catch up with me: their doing 300 mph+! The only track they never catch up with my is Pelton Raceway. I don't know why.

Pelton Raceway is a very small track compared to the others so... maybe they can't do their boost there? They might need more room to do the nitro boost that's my guess.

You're probably right to an extent. I think they do do their boosts there, as I have seen them do so on the map, but they just crash into the walls and fall behind again. (The best time I have ever seen a CPU player get on this track is 1:22:__.) It still doesn't make sense to me because they have no problem catching up even in the ugliest portions of Jordan BWD where there isn't a long stretch of track.

Im guessing that since the area is narrow as the tunnel they use nitro boost? hmmm, the cpu in test drive 6 are really weird bro. Another example is Lake Tahoe BWD, there is a section that is narrow where they boost right through there
