  • Thiis is better explained than my teacher did.

  • you have very nice handwriting for a dude

  • what about shorter expressions like: W x 4W or 2M x 2M x 2M ?

  • Yeah U HELPED MY MATH HOME WORK DUDE U ROK!!!!!!! :) U OWN A SUB :)

  • but why do you turn it into a negative ?

  • @lilhinaboo you don't turn it into a negative the minus sign already makes it a negative you just put the plus because adding is easier and your saying the same thing, like when you learned integers, um I'm a horrible explain-er but when basically the plus is invisible o.o you would get the same answer if you didn't put it tho its just easier to visualize. hope i helped D:

  • What about this???????

    7c+9+3c ?????????

  • @xboxboy2328 I think it's 10c+9 , then again I could be rong !

  • what a load off shit. thanks for the help- not

  • -2-6(8+x)-9x ?

  • how the hell do u simplify

    (4m-3n)square+(2m+n)square-(m-3n)square-(4m+n)square

  • how do u simplify (2y)(4y square)

  • easy peas.

  • You know why everyone else sucks? Everyone else sucks because they go at their own speed. Going at their own speed will only stress the learner, or you. This guy is a beast because he actually knows the only way people learn things is to break it down in the small parts. For instance, a computer, then will you know how to make it. More making, more doing, more doing, more achieving, more acieving, more life, more life, you get the damn point.

  • Thank you so much, he explains so much better than my teacher!!

  • OHHH CRAP>>> THESE ARE ALL USA WAYS OF TEACHING>.... We cant do this in the UK... Im going to fail if i dont get UK help :(

  • @xxDarkEyezxx im pretty sure the only only amercan bit is the simplifying, they did like terms when all british would have done is: is do the first and second sum ( 8X + 4Y then -9X + 12Y) to get 12XY + 3XY. hope this helped :D

  • if i pass my test i'll subscribe

  • 240 p we meet again.

  • 240p?

  • Great lesson. I think its insane that my son is having to do this kind of math in the sixth grade. I was a sophmore in high school when I was required to to this math. Its insane the way they are pushing these kids today, and the teachers are only giving 2 weeks to teach it before they go on to the next lesson.

  • @MiniCaptainN your son is lucky we get one week and we get a quiz tommorow

  • Thank you.you are a very good algebra teacher.

  • @consideredaboss yeah i realy wish he was mine my teacher is a ........i cant even say it every one hates her i cant understand anything she says or writes she ealy sucks

  • My algebra teacher said that she wants us to learn algebra even if we dont like her, algebra, or even dont understand it.Well i didnt unerstand and she got pretty mad.But now i do!!!Thanks man :D that was really helpful :D I MAY JUST PASS ALGEBRA NOW :D

  • HE KEEPS ASKING ME Y I DON'T BUT I DON'T KNOW?

  • This man has maths and sex appeal.

  • i love you so much. Jesus bless you and my grade on the test.

  • wow ths is funny hahaha

  • Why change subtraction into addition?Do I always have to do this?

    HELP

  • Man that one looked kind of easy

  • i subscribed

  • u rock

  • hope i dont fail my test

  • so cute

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH I PASSED MY TEST CUZ OF YOU, YOU THE BEST

    :)

  • ......What???

  • thank you weird guy! :D

  • YOU ARE AMAZINGG. this helped a lot! unlike my math teacher..

  • hey, you actually explain things, unlike my math teacher! :D haha thanks!

  • thanks helped alot! keep it upp!

  • This Helped Meeh Out Alot Thanks !( :

  • i dont understand all the hard words, im japanese and i dont get those hard words your are using,

  • Notice how he checks the marker in his hand every time before he writes as if someone replaced it with a stick while he wasn't looking..

  • OMG ! THIS VIDEO IS GOOD ! BUT I STILL AINT GETTING IT !

  • im such a dumbass...

  • He is SOOO cute! LOL

  • damn......why cant my math teacher stop showing off using big words and teach us simpler??

  • i swear that 1x is just x

  • @MythicPanda You're right. If the variable x does not have a a number next to it its coefficient is automatically 1.

  • This is shitty math, you should never change the signs

  • Thank you!!! This really helped.

  • This helped! Thanks!

  • great help im getting a D plus in algebra this may help

  • @kennedy976 And you are in 9th? some of the 7th graders in my school have A's in algebra.

  • this really helped me

  • my teacher is teaching us the exact way but im scared tomarrow we have a quiz!!

  • what a stupid way?

  • @Menard892000 now its 20

  • OMFG, I actually got this!

Fuckin hell, I love this man! For 'simplifying' its not all actually that simple, but I've understood it now :D

  • Hows 8x + -9 = -1x ??????????

  • @MrRey84972 You combine like terms. In this equation 8x and -9x have the same variable. If you at negative 9x to the 8x it would equal -1x.

  • @AlayMico oh! i get it now. Than kyou!

  • This was well explained but i dont understand how you've changed all of the signs to pluses, doesn't that interfere with the question?

  • @smile1435 neither did i

  • @smile1435 no it doesnt, you actually dont have to change them, the answer would still be the same.

  • @bedelicious14 Thanks :)

  • @smile1435 Well, adding with negative numbers is the same as subtracting positive numbers, and I quote from the description,"Students also learn to change minus signs to plus negatives in order to avoid making common errors with signs when distributing."

  • @smile1435 No It doesn't. I am learning this in 7th grade. My teacher told me that + -1 is like saying -1. The subtraction sign makes it a negative. Its just easier to look at it that way then the other.

  • @smile1435 subtracting a positive number is the same as adding a negative number, so you can change the sign to plus if you make the number your adding negative. at least, thats what i understand

  • @smile1435 elohel

  • @smile1435 i dot understand that either +_+ ! KLfokjcoigfjndflhdfgobjn

  • @smile1435 - Nope it doesn't because it's easier to look at like -9-10. It's easier to understand if it's -9+-10 which would be -19. I don't really think it would inerfere if you do that before anything else (: ( Source- 7th grader )

  • @smile1435

When you see a minus sign, that means the number after it is negative, i.e. 3 - 2 = 1; this is actually 3 plus -2 = 1, you're simply adding a negative number to a positive number, which results in 1 in this case.

  • @smile1435 just go with it... its just what you do don't question it because its meant to make it easier not harder

  • @smile1435 To make it easier to solve, of course!

  • @smile1435 Yea, I thought you only did that when you where dealing with Integers?

  • I recommend this excellent Math channel: ( Mathmatchpoint ) to everyone who wants to become good at Math. He is going to teach you Math the EASY WAY, from the basic to the advanced topics. The great thing is that his videos are categorized within playlists. It is easy to know which video to watch next. This was the least I could do for him (let people know about his videos). Thanks to him, I got 97% on my Math test.

Type ( Mathmatchpoint ) in the search bar

Math will become easy to understand

  • This guy is better than my math teacher!

  • thank you sooooo much =)

  • thank you!

  • i wish i could bring u to my school and throw my other teacher away

  • This was so helpful. THANK YOU! i think i'm ready for me test(: and dinner.

  • Thank you so much :D

  • You taught me this in 1 minute.....and my teacher couldn't even teach anyone it in 1 hour!!!!

  • Thank you....I got soooo stuck xD

  • LOL, well you really dont have to make the minus to plus minus cause i just tried it without that and it still works

  • you explained this soooooo well. You just gave me confidence to try harder at math. :)

  • omg this was GHEY really u just confused the hell out of me

  • Hes Hot ;)

  • Thank you soooooo much A on test

  • Thank you soooo much! I have a huge test tommorow, and I swear without you I would've taken the test while thinking I was going to fail. You just gave me confidence and I totally understand this now. You are a great teacher, you should work in a classroom and share your talent! Once again, thank you soooo much.

  • You Are Better Than Any other teacher!!! Home School I Think Is Way Better!!!

  • you saved my life and the hope of me passing the midterm :)

  • i nvr worry about math hmwk,if i dont understand i noe I can rely on youtube :)

  • WOW THANKS MAN!!!! so easy when you explain it.

  • I wish you were my teacher for the rest of my school years. you actually make things more sense.

  • I wish you were my teacher for the rest of my school years. you actually make sense.

  • ahhh im in 6th grade and i dont get this at all !!

  • @StrawberryDropify me to im also and sixth grade and i'vew been flunking math my whole life. :/

  • Your telling me it was that easy?! THAT EASY?!! Thank you. I suck at this. I have a test 2morrow and this is on it.

  • this answer is actually 17x+16y

  • @wwelover999 um... no it's not.

  • Comment removed

  • and now i like you already!!

  • this guy is so chill

  • I love you bro. I suck at this. I've been on the same problem for over twenty minutes now.

  • god i love this guy so helpful

  • this guy is so cool

  • this guy is so cool

  • this guy iz so awosume

  • how would i do x(2+1)+x?

  • @superherosrocktiger1 the answers 4x

  • @HiddenPwnage117 i figured it out but thanx anyway!

  • or -x+ 16y

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks!

I'm still iffy on this, but you definitely helped.

  • i love u! the first second i saw u change the subraction signs to plus negatives! i understood completely!!!!

  • does anyone know where i can learn how to simplify things such as 64 to the 2/3 power?

  • WTF WAS THAT SHIT

  • wow you are a math wizard.

  • why do we change signs?

  • thanks i hate the way my teacher teaches

i no like de way me teacher teach meLOL

  • OMG he boxes my answers like I do LOOLOOOLOOL

  • Is this for problems like -4 x -4?

  • @feli515 wow i didnt get it either cuz i had a diff thing before the symbols and this didnt SHOW how to do it so ur the retard

  • @feli515 i would have ignored your usless comment if you had said 'stupid', 'idiot', or something else like that. but, by saying someone who does not have retardation is incredibly stupid and disrespectful. Mental Retardation is a a serious illness that one gets at birth. whoever started using 'retard' as an insult is an extremely big idiot since it is extremely rude. so before you go and call another person a retard, think about how stupid you sound.

  • thumbs up if your ears were making a ringing sound when u were learning

  • what about −4(3d − 1) + 4d

  • when doing like terms, dont u hsve to make the number a negative it it was moving to the other side?

  • i don't get it...

  • Wut do I do if there is nothing to distribute? Ex. (3c+4c) + 2(-7c+7). I can distribute the second equation. But wut about the first one. Afte I distribute the second one, do the parentheses for the first one just go away? I'm not sure about tht

  • wow you help me more than my teacher ever has with these problems

  • Why make them plus negatives?

  • help me to simplify -31 + (-26) - (-13) -18

  • @chulazownworld they would but then they would be doing your homework!!! wow you really think there that dumb. Ya and your never gonna get an answer back

  • This guy isnt actually teaching anything, he is just showing that HE can do Math.I also dislike the hypocrisy that this "teaching" in reality is a link to a place where you can BUY tutoring

    boloks your hat sir

  • i think he did a great job explaining it he made it much easier for me to understand in the math books they make it so much more complicated than it really has to be and after looking at this video i think im going to try and sign up for the your teacher math help website so yeah overall you did a great job and some advise for PHRESHPIMPCESS you should take it slow it sounds like your really angry i wish you the best of luck and thanks again you helped alot.

  • you're the man now dog!

  • Seriously, that's all i had to do?!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • It's funny because we do algebra everyday and don't even realize it.

  • He is switching the signs for no reason, the ans... is gonna be the same $/

  • i wish like hell you were my teacher, i have been racking my brains out for absolutely nothing thank you thank you thank you sooooooooooo much. you rock teach....

  • dude you make it complicated....

  • why does he change +3 into +-3?

  • @slimjim21211 because he is multiplying 2 negative numbers together which become positive so he switches that sign to a plus a minute which is the same as saying minus

  • @slimjim21211 cuz he's a complicated retard

  • @slimjim21211 you have to switch to opposite signs

  • @slimjim21211 you have to switch negative's sign

  • What?? I don't get it

  • thanks

  • I don't get it. I thought this was called the distributive property but he calls it simplifiying expressions. Can someone explain this to me?

  • @MrDrGrotesque

i believe simplifying expressions is the type of problems which means you have to reduce the numbers to the minimal expression, the distributive property is a law or a rule that you have to use in a case like that for instance, 2(2x + 3)... you must multiply the 2 with the numbers inside, 4x + 6 soo.. thats the answer...

  • wtf?

  • you are making it more complicated by changing the signs other than that good job

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS heck yea i alredy failing math class im realy ticked

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS If you consider this difficult you are in serious, serious trouble. Unless you, of course, arent old enough to have read it yet. You should be able to do this in your sleep.

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS jajajajajaa im with u dude jajaj

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS Science geniuses and math professors - the only people who use this kind of math in daily life.

  • @PhreShPimpCeSS

you a dumb ass this is easy shit man!

  • @ZachandDrewFilming1 then y the fuck r u watching this dumbass god ur retarded

  • and what do u do if the - sign is a + sign?

  • leave it the way it is bro.

  • u only change if its a minus sign

  • wat da fuck 8x+9x dsnt = -1x

  • 8x + - 9x = -1x

  • yes it is

    8-9 = -1

  • why in the hell did you change the minus signs to plus signs? You didn't need to.

  • wow thats insane u tought me this in only under a minute and my teacher tokk quite a while...i think its cuz ur voive is calm and not yelling at me

  • i hope you get paid for making these videos

  • thank u i really do mean it u really did help me

  • well, i tnx a LOT!!!! but i'm quite confused why the 3x didn't become negative.. cause it's after the - sign..

  • Because a [negative (-)] times a [positive (+)]equals a "Negative". (-3)(3x)= -9x

  • thx

  • this isn't that hard, but my thing is i don't know when to switch from posiotive to negative numbers, that does drive me insane

  • yea same. it's so confusing when to change to negatives a positives! i'm in advanced math in my school... (pre- algebra in 7th grade and we use high school text books.... it's INSANE)
