  • I don't understand even a single word from this song, but it still makes me cry. This song is magical.

  • @hmvartak true...we dont need to underestand the words cuz notes tels anything, love it

  • kourosh harvaght sedato mishnavam eyne khodet atisch migiram

  • thank you for uploading this beautiful song. Iranian students at the university I attended put this and other songs on the jukebox in the student center. I fell in love with this song which began a wonderful long love affair with the Iranians and their music. Didn't know the singer was this handsome.

  • My first cheekk to cheek dance with this song. Its been engraved in my memories for ever. Thank you Koorosh Yaghmai

  • 8 nafar aslan hechee halishoon neest!

  • I am in love with him. LOL Seriously I'm going to Iran at least once to see Kourosh.

  • @FaithSheikh Hi faith - thought about you when I revisited this song...still like the moustaches? You cracked me up!! There is another upload of this that has the complete song although no video of our mustachioed friend. Hope you are well...

  • @laelamarie1 I've left a message on your wall LOL I forgot I had to reply on here :P And thank you :)

    Long live Kourosh.

  • @FaithSheikh (I could really get along with you...) Do you not have a channel?

  • @laelamarie1 I'll message you from the channel that I really use :) Soon, okay? Nice taste in music!

  • In ahanghaye ghadimi arzeshe shon az talaham balatare ;)

  • Epic mustache! Fuck me.

  • @TheCroupierDeals The mustache is a bit big, but I guess a lot men during that time had mustaches that looked like that. He was a very handsome man in my opinion, and his voice is unique.

  • hehehe

  • He looked like Gerorge Harrison and honestly i think he adopted George's style in his music.Anybody else has this feeling?

  • @IMTNB No way, most males had this look back in the 70's

  • @TabbyAngel2 Well, There is a reason why young people looked like this back then!Seriously what kuroush and his ilks in 70's have done is literally mimicing the the Beatles' style and using persian language.

  • imo, this is the greatest Iranian Song of all time.

  • anyone no the Guitar Tabs for the solo at the end ?

  • I've no idea what he sings about, but I love it.

  • sadness is in your beautiful eyes, night is in your beautiful black hair, your black eyes is like my nights, blackness of your eyes, is like my sadness.

when i blink slowly with sadness, it starts to rain, flood of sadness destroyed the rain.

when you are with me my loneliness is blown away by the wind.

my eyes are raining in the night.

spring is gone from my hand, ice flower bloomed in my heart.

in my room, I'm burning from loneliness.

what should i sing now that my youth and voice is gone? 2X

  • I think Kourosh was a bit too inspired by John Lennon in this song... it is almost like listening to John Lennon

  • @awardak

Guitar maybe, but not much at singing.

  • My Favourite Persian Love Song Ever,

  • 1970's were special years for iranian music,i don't believe any of iran's neighboring countries other than russia to have these numorous intellectuall songs that are appreciated by normal people too

  • After so many years still makes me cry.

  • This haunting melody lingers in my brain....I wish someone could translante the words for me.....it is absolutely beautiful....

  • sorrow has resided in your beautiful eyes, night has made your dark hair its home.your dark eyes are like my nights, darkness of your eyes is like my sorrow.when sadness comes down from my lashes it becomes like rain.grief has destroyed my happiness like a flood, when you stay with me, wind takes away my loneliness, your eyes are making the nightly rain.

  • spring flew away from my hands, ice flower has blossomed in my heart,i'm burning(slang for having a lot of pain) from loneliness in my room,a flower that blossoms in this season.what can i sing when my youth and voice are gone, when ice flower has blossomed in my heart.

this the best translation i can come up with sry for any mistakes.

  • I cannot believe I have lived on this planet as long as I have and not tasted the beauty and perfection of the Iranian culture. I have died and gone to heaven...how I wish I had been born an Iranian...What a beautiful culture. ..the cradle of human civilization...merci for the translation. I love this song so much and the words make me cry as does the tune. God be with you! ~ Catalina/Taharah

  • Indias' not the best haven either,

i agree with you that it's been arab influenced for 1400 years, but we still have our Ariyanism in Iran, and soon revolution will occur with the young protestors to kick the shit out of mullahs and arabs out of Iran,

    ARIYAN IRANIC PRIDE

  • what aryanism and pride??!! the iranian civilization was dead the moment it became islamic.....

  • kourosh is really handsome

  • He WAS handsome when he was young. I'm sure to his wife he is still very handsome.

  • My God, this almost always makes my eyes wet, I have always been in love with this song, my favorite song of all times, and hands down his best song. I will love him forever and ever. what an artist...thank you for sharing and reminding us of who we are...

  • One of my favorites. I used to listen to this song when I was in Iran, it makes me really sad and I feel homesisk.

  • Beautiful.... yad-e aan ruzha be kheyr

  • All the new generation singers in LA can not even sing one tenth of the Singers like Kourosh ... He is Immortal... Forever...

  • agree, totally agree

  • i love this song and can play it on guitar too! i have the lyrics in farsi and tried translating them using my farsi-english dictionary but, haha, the furthest i got was "gham", the first word.

so, if anyone can translate this into english for me, i'd love it.

    keylee mamnoon, khodafez

  • This song is in the heart of all Iranians, especially from the previous generation. What made it so famous was the chorus. But translating it would take away from its beauty in my opinion. Here's what the Chorus means

    Minute 2:00

Chi Bekhunam? Javounim rafte, Sedam rafte dige

What can i sing? My youthhood is gone, my voice is gone

gole yakh tooye delam javoone karde

The flower of ice* has blossomed in my heart

*Gole yakh is an actual flower you see in Iran. It blossoms in the winter

  • Wow man im 16 and this is 1 of my favorite song its amazing how im so young and in love with this song. everytime i hear this song it make me cry because my grandpa use to love this song and he passed away

  • I'm sorry about your grandpa. I'm sure your grandpa is listening to this song in heaven. As long as this song brings you good memories then it will continue to touch your heart. You sound like a sweet person. Family is the most important thing after God. Take care.

  • Thnx man just came back from Chahar Shambeh Suri btw Happy Nooroz to all the Iranians.

  • HAPPY NOROOZ to you too.

  • This has been a favorite song of mine for many years. I first heard it on an album by Chicago folksinger Kristin Lems (believe it or not); then got the lyrics from a young Iranian guy performing at a local folk festival. It's the only Iranian song I've memorized so far; I don't speak the language, but I'd love to learn more songs from that region. This one has the most gorgeous melody...

  • hey Iranians had different accent before revolution they used to speak very clear Persian and now its being changed

  • They want a UNIVERSAL language..a combo of all dialets that sound English/Spanish/Middle Eastern. This will correspond with the ONE WORLD CHURCH. The UN is destroying Nationalism and one's sense of Identity. The Kurds were wiped out, but their spirit will never die. Then Iraq and who knows who is next? Thank you for your comment. ~ Catalina

  • this is the best song ever love every bit of it x

  • I wasn't allowed to send URL apparently so I added a couple of spaces in the address. Feel free to take them out ;)

  • please send me a URL,my email is lulushiwodezuiai@163 because i ant open it ,thanks ,

  • beautiful song although it reminds me of edelweiss

  • Nice, Soon I am going to sing this song with my guitar.

  • i find that there are two kinds of persian looks ,for example ,one kind is like kourosh yaghmaie, one kind is like the iranian football player Mehdi Mahdavikia .those two kinds of look are very different ,i cant believe that they coe from on erace, but they both representative,so i want to know which is the typical persian looks

  • This video is old. I say about 20-30 years ago. At that time this look with mustache and everything was quite famous. Even Mahdavikia is not a very common look in todays iran. If you are interested look at these two videos:

    bia2. com /video /player .php?id=203

    bia2. com /video /player. php?id=199

    Regards

  • thanks ,but i dont mean their clothes and fairstyle ,i mean their looks ,thrie eyes and skin are different ,i dont mean which is good or bad

  • Iran is a nation of dozens of ethnicities and backgrounds, at the crossroads between East and West. There is no such thing as a typical Iranian look.

  • I disagree biriya. There is a distinctive look of Persians, and also the Kurds. I can usually tell you if someone is Iranian or Kurdish just by looking at them. In my opinion, they are the most beautiful people on the planet! :)
