  • do pop up advertise vids take space n ur computer and slow ur computer down? coz thats the only thing i need protection from coz i play alot of combat arms and dragon nest and they all have ads ad the end? do they take space? plz plz plz reply someone

  • You forgot to mention that MSE protects you from key loggers.

  • Microsoft security essentials should come with every Windows computer from now on. It should replace windows defender and you can keep it unless you want to deactivate it to install a different one.

  • Oh shhhhhhhhh..... I got free norton 360 and its pretty beast! but tell noone! I got it for free so its a secret shhhhhhhhhh

  • @Reprusuz isnt that just for viruses? not ads or anything

  • CRAZY THINGS!!! CRAZY WEBSITES!!! LOLZ!!!

  • This Product Is Prefect.Thank You Microsoft

  • great product and good review!!!

  • sssssss

  • the only thing that sucks is that it can take like more than 6 or 7 hours to get rid of the viruses..

  • its nice because from microsoft,,, and must be compatible with all of microsoft windows i guest :D

  • In some ways i think this should be standard on all computers and if the person want to use something else they can but this would get them up and running at the minimum and help all those who are new or not very great with the "new age" Technology

  • @technologyinffo I agree that it should come installed standard, but Microsoft could get into some hot water if they did. Remember about five years ago all the problems they had with the European Union because they bundled Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer into Windows. Kind of silly, but I'm guessing Microsoft doesn't want to pay hundreds of millions of dollars more in future lawsuit fees.

  • @DigitalMeld why would they get sued in the 1st place?

  • @DigitalMeld Um why did the Europian uniun sue them or whatever, its just mediaplayer and internet explorer, i could see if that was communist russia but its not (is it).

  • can you please tell me why to make google chrome transparent like that?

  • Comment removed

  • @neroinaction It is the Windows "Aero" feature in certain versions of Windows 7 (Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate).

  • @DigitalMeld i know i have windows 7 before that comment but google chrome don't install transparent so i was searching for i way to get it into that and i did

  • are you using an ssd that it runs a quick scan that fast?

  • Hey bro if I download this and install it will it get rid of widows defender

  • @MegaAkad yes it will get rid of win defender

  • The best antivirus a have ever used and i have used alot :D

  • what do you mean by crazy websites??? and crazy downloads??? lol

  • Very nice review. I have a question though: Would you recommend MSE for avid gamers?

    Thanks.

  • .jpeg's can have viruses? holy fuck..

  • This is Microsoft saying sorry for vista lol

  • mine runs at about 77MB of ram, which is nothing

  • well i m using eset nod32 v4,for last 1 year, before it i was using kaspersky both are far better,

  • My Bitdefender takes up 500 k in processes >=)

  • Hey I'm just curious what program do you use to record your screen?

  • @malib0osted See the information under the video. "Video captured using Camtasia Studio 6.0 at 1280x800 resolution."

  • @DigitalMeld does mse delete viruses or just lets you know if your computer has one

  • @adambelfast1 It alerts you and it deletes or quarantines the files. It allows you to STOP it from deleting files as well.

  • @adambelfast1 I think there is a setting what action should it take depending on the severity /threat of a particular malicious program it has detected, for severe, you can select remove, or quarantine.

  • @malib0osted Camtasia Studio 7 is used to record screen..

  • i have a question i download alot of music will this scan all music files????

  • @carlosakapez Yes, it scans all files... including those that are archived, like ZIP and RAR files.

  • @DigitalMeld cool thanks man good tutorial!!!!!!!

  • dude i like ur backround

  • Hello-

I am a user of Avira Antivirus premium.

I recently changed to Microsoft Security Essentials.

Avira antivirus takes about 30.000KB of usage.

however Microsoft Security Essentials only takes about 3.800KB - 5.000KB of usage.

I must say i prefer Microsoft Security Essentials-

I hope that Microsoft will update it, so it can scan the links at Google.

Avira antivirus scanner takes about 2hours, however Microsoft Security Essentials only takes about 1hour, depens on diskspace.

    I prefer it.

  • @EasyTecTalk your useing to much programs What OS do you run

  • @Rickyhi100 win 7

  • @Rickyhi100 hes using windows 7 you can run alot of programs with this

  • @Rickyhi100 Havent you ever heard about Windows 7 do you live in a cave

  • dude! there's no free AV that updates once a week or month! Every free AV updates once a day...EVERY day!

  • What is your screen resolution while recording these videos?

  • @samuelfur @samuelfur I run every day at 1920x1200, but I record videos at 1280x800 so it is 720p. I just don't see the use of recording at 1080p... it makes editing a pain (slow) and uploads and downloads slower.

  • i'm actually really lost, because i had this MSE installed and updated it, etc.. and still got that internet security malware virus and was a bitch to remove. MSE didnt even identify it or block it when i was scanning my comp. had to get superanitspyware to completely remove the virus. if this antivirus is one of the best, why didnt it get rid of it or prevent it?????? i switched to avast, and it found viruses MSE couldnt identify and removed them. AV's are so freaking complicated.

  • the program kinda slows down your computer :(

  • no it doesn't.....really :)

  • yeah you are right......it slows down the computer when you are scaning!.... :)

  • lol just deleted my norton 09 90day subscription and now im downloading this.

  • Learn how to use the taskmanager man. If you hit "show proceses for all users" you will see that it uses a lot of system resources!

  • Nice video though i have a bone to pick

    .

Msseces.exe is the front-end GUI of MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials).

MsMpEng.exe is the back-end of MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials). It is important to remember that this process is actually used by both Windows Defender and MSE.

In saying that in your video you dont have MsMpEng.exe running so i dont understand how security essentials is working for you. Also when this process is running Security Essentials does use alot of resources.

  • does it have anti hacker?

  • i dnt think so, get snoopfree. but i think it only works for xp.

  • OMG this really does work i just got a virus right now and my friend told me to go here: DOWNLOAD IT!! press more info and click the link!!!

  • I'm impressed with MSE. One of the pay-for outfits said it's inferior cos "it doesn't use heuristics". Cliff Evans of Microsoft has said "Microsoft Security Essentials does the normal signature stuff, but it also does a tremendous amount of heuristics and behavioural stuff. I'm not sure they're aware that's exactly what MSE does. It's not some kind of substandard free product, it's a high-quality anti-malware product comparable to the packages from Symantec and co." I'm prepared to believe that.

  • Security Essentials seems like a pretty good product so far. It is a vast improvement from Win. Defender. Great review of the product.

  • @froggy604 do i need to uninstall kaspersky for using it?

  • @neroinaction Yes since it is never recommended to install 2 anti-virus at the same time since it makes your computer slow, and may have problems with each other.

  • just started using it works great. Seems way better than AVG.

Will this protect for online banking?

  • There's no way for a product to protect you during your online banking... you just need to make sure that you are always at your banking site by checking the URL and making sure it is encrypted (little lock in the browser)... and NEVER click a link in an email to your banking site.
