do pop up advertise vids take space n ur computer and slow ur computer down? coz thats the only thing i need protection from coz i play alot of combat arms and dragon nest and they all have ads ad the end? do they take space? plz plz plz reply someone
Microsoft security essentials should come with every Windows computer from now on. It should replace windows defender and you can keep it unless you want to deactivate it to install a different one.
In some ways i think this should be standard on all computers and if the person want to use something else they can but this would get them up and running at the minimum and help all those who are new or not very great with the "new age" Technology
@technologyinffo I agree that it should come installed standard, but Microsoft could get into some hot water if they did. Remember about five years ago all the problems they had with the European Union because they bundled Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer into Windows. Kind of silly, but I'm guessing Microsoft doesn't want to pay hundreds of millions of dollars more in future lawsuit fees.
@DigitalMeld Um why did the Europian uniun sue them or whatever, its just mediaplayer and internet explorer, i could see if that was communist russia but its not (is it).
@DigitalMeld i know i have windows 7 before that comment but google chrome don't install transparent so i was searching for i way to get it into that and i did
@adambelfast1 I think there is a setting what action should it take depending on the severity /threat of a particular malicious program it has detected, for severe, you can select remove, or quarantine.
@samuelfur@samuelfur I run every day at 1920x1200, but I record videos at 1280x800 so it is 720p. I just don't see the use of recording at 1080p... it makes editing a pain (slow) and uploads and downloads slower.
i'm actually really lost, because i had this MSE installed and updated it, etc.. and still got that internet security malware virus and was a bitch to remove. MSE didnt even identify it or block it when i was scanning my comp. had to get superanitspyware to completely remove the virus. if this antivirus is one of the best, why didnt it get rid of it or prevent it?????? i switched to avast, and it found viruses MSE couldnt identify and removed them. AV's are so freaking complicated.
Msseces.exe is the front-end GUI of MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials).
MsMpEng.exe is the back-end of MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials). It is important to remember that this process is actually used by both Windows Defender and MSE.
In saying that in your video you dont have MsMpEng.exe running so i dont understand how security essentials is working for you. Also when this process is running Security Essentials does use alot of resources.
I'm impressed with MSE. One of the pay-for outfits said it's inferior cos "it doesn't use heuristics". Cliff Evans of Microsoft has said "Microsoft Security Essentials does the normal signature stuff, but it also does a tremendous amount of heuristics and behavioural stuff. I'm not sure they're aware that's exactly what MSE does. It's not some kind of substandard free product, it's a high-quality anti-malware product comparable to the packages from Symantec and co." I'm prepared to believe that.
@neroinaction Yes since it is never recommended to install 2 anti-virus at the same time since it makes your computer slow, and may have problems with each other.
There's no way for a product to protect you during your online banking... you just need to make sure that you are always at your banking site by checking the URL and making sure it is encrypted (little lock in the browser)... and NEVER click a link in an email to your banking site.

@adambelfast1 It alerts you and it deletes or quarantines the files. It allows you to STOP it from deleting files as well.

Hello-
I am a user of Avira Antivirus premium.
I recently changed to Microsoft Security Essentials.
Avira antivirus takes about 30.000KB of usage.
however Microsoft Security Essentials only takes about 3.800KB - 5.000KB of usage.
I must say i prefer Microsoft Security Essentials-
I hope that Microsoft will update it, so it can scan the links at Google.
Avira antivirus scanner takes about 2hours, however Microsoft Security Essentials only takes about 1hour, depens on diskspace.
I prefer it.
