@DigitalMediam its for mobiility I think. So if you need to move your media and can disconnect easily and move, as well as safety and space. your run out of space on your machine you then have to start moving your meda around, that gets confusing and if your machine crashes(rear) your meda is safe.

@TOPHERHARPER firewire is a cable use for importing video. different from usb. usb is only for importing music and pictures. if you use usb to impor video i will be very slow or not import at all.
