  • Awesome =D , wish if i could do that 1day

Great Job , keep it up

  • I was friends with the person who made this

  • It's really sad that so many people seem to be missing the fun and the humor in this machine. So they included Noah's Ark...they didn't have any music playing...they had three "horsemen" of the Apocalypse instead of four... So what? I didn't see anyone complaining because Christopher Columbus' ship fell off the edge of the earth.

The machine designs have a few specific contest requirements, the rest is left up to creativity. Nearly 250 steps, and they all worked! Good job guys. Go Boilers! :o)

  • thanks..its much appreciated

  • Nice! Go Purdue

  • 3 Horsemen? It's 4 Horsemen. There missing a bitch somewhere.

  • Best one Ive seen.

  • That three horsemen comment was dumb. I know where he was going, but there are four horsemen.

  • @crazyfox89 thanks for killing the joke asshole your a fucking buzzkill

  • @TheMachinimaNation Go suck a dick cry baby.

  • u still a parrty pooper buzzkill noob

  • @TheMachinimaNation Did you find a dick to suck on?

  • @crazyfox89 thats what i said to your mom before i shoved my dick in her face

  • @TheMachinimaNation go suck your dad's cock you cry baby bitch.

  • world record on what??

  • Way too fast and too engineered. RGs work always look best when cobbled together out of spare parts and bits of trash

  • @JennyY8S

Funny... I seem to recall Rube Goldberg's own Granddaughter at the competition stating that her grandfather would have loved our machine and would have had a strong laugh looking at all of the humor within the machine.

  • Way too fast and too engineered. RGs work always look best when cobbled together out of spare parts and bits of trash

  • The machine should've played "It's the End of the World As We Know it (And I Feel Fine)" by REM at the end

  • I usually like these things, but including the biblical flood killed it for me. Way to mix fact and fiction.

  • Cool you designed something useless.

  • @EquinoxxDK

COOL they become rich and famous for designing something useless while you remain mediocre.

  • @frailvision89jad

    Amen Brother!

  • @frailvision89jad How do you reckon they become rich from this... It doesn't fulfil a need. To some degree they become a little more known but is that the reason they did this probably not.

  • @EquinoxxDK

Winners get cash prizes...lots of them. They go to the societies they compete for (PSPE and SHPE). I mean it's up to them if they want to keep the cash for themselves or give it to their society but the winners do get money and lots of job opportunities.

  • @frailvision89jad

Simply put: it's done for the fun of it and the chance to get away from everyday schoolwork in order to build something completely pointless while obtaining valuable skills that employers and competition sponsors highly value.

In terms of becoming rich, the competition sponsors include: Lockheed Martin, Bosch, Omega, Priio, BP, Alcoa, and others who consistently hire veteran members of the team on an annual basis.

  • I dont get it

  • Go boilmakers!

  • columbus right into world war 2? lol

  • Funniest part has to be going from Columbus to WW2. I know you can't really include -everything,- but I still find it funny.

  • The spokeperson is bad...

  • jaarrr.... the is dick !!! Niceee...

  • cool as shit. i shall recreate and patent it

  • @Borridd You should check out Stouts Machine!

  • Just toooo much awesome in one enclosed space!

  • *The three Whorsemen" lol

  • Type into the search for youtube: "Purdue Rube Goldberg Machine 2011" for the much better version of the Purdue Rube Goldberg Machine...featuring all 244 steps!

  • I am hopeful and frightened at the same time. Well played. XD

  • Awesome! I love the creativity!

  • _____So they think the end of Britney spears and this planet is the end of civilization? Golly, and the Ancient Romans thought that horse-drawn chariots were the fastest form of transportation that human beings could ever create! Just...never mind jet engines and rocket ships. Point is, after this civilization drops dead from its cocaine habit, a NEW civilization will conquer other planets--leaving Planet Moron to burn when the sun goes nova.

  • Why is everybody talking shit about this video, this machine is incredible

  • thinking of all of the important, brilliant people in the history of the earth, and you choose a picture of paris hilton. why.jpg

  • oh so it's a headache machine, well it worked

  • man I'll stick to porn

  • Aye, not exactly the best rube ever. It's too encapsulated and uninteresting. Hope it doesn't get the record, because there must be something better that does

  • OKGO Blows this tiny thing away!

  • @WEYHROCK

I totally agree. It was synced perfectly with the music, done on a much larger scale, and I could actually tell what was going on!

  • @WEYHROCK

OKGO didn't have a space requirement of 6'x6'x6' or a time limit of 2 min.

    @scythe747

The camera work does not do it justice. It missed quite a bit of stuff actually. Much more impressive to see it in person.

  • nerds

  • Would have been nice in HD with some steady camera work. I can't make out shit!

  • I luld at the apocalypse.

  • Put it in slow motion.

  • skipped the greeks? tsk tsk

  • I better get royalties for my cameo at 1:12

  • Surprisingly boring. imho it's too busy. Maybe it's the camera work.

  • @scythe747 I think it would be tough to follow without the announcer and when these things really take off you shouldn't need an announcer, however I'm not trying to take away from what they did here, still impressive nonetheless

  • Everyone should check out that National Winner from UW Stout

  • Comment removed

  • COOOOOOLLLL

  • That was great, I will be sure to pass it on. Bill Kuhl

  • They put the Biblical flood in there? Umm..... yeah-no.

  • @Venaloid Take the story with a grain of salt

  • @zumperov How about I don't take the story because it's idiotic.

  • @Borridd

Oh really? Are you suggesting you can make something better? I think it's genius...don't know what you're talking about it being "idiotic". The work put into this definitely payed off for these boilers.

  • Go Boilers!
