I've gone to Coachella the past 4 years. I love it, some of the best times of my life. But on the real, fuck Coachella. They didn't look out for their fans this year. They didn't put measures in place to prevent scalping, so all their tickets get bought up by scalpers who later attempted to sell them at 4x their value. Broke-ass 20-somethings can barely afford Coachella in the first place, let alone when the tickets go for $1,500. But what should I expect from a subsidiary of AEG anyways..?

@glassboy I read at the Coachella website that no scalped tickets will be accepted. Only tickets bought on the website (and the buyer must show their ID to be let in) will be honored. Seems to me like anyone attempting to use a $1,500 ticket they bought (illegally) will be screwed out of their money. That's not Coachella's fault, IMO. I think Coachella was trying to limit the number of tickets sold because the event was getting insanely huge. They also were tyring to control the scalping.

@Primswood I'm aware of the ID showing procedure, it does prevent people who bought scalped tickets from entering. However, I don't think that's sufficient means to protect your fans. I think that's even more damning to fans-someone shelling out $1,500 for your product and then you turning them away. I don't have a problem with them reducing the size of the event, it has gotten very large, but I suppose we disagree on whether or not their action was sufficient to protect their fans/customers.
