  • my five year old cabrio is useless and not "economically feasible to fix" according to whirlpool and their customer service is useless

  • @dbknight7265 the new ones are pretty good, so far.

  • I bought the cheaper version of the Whirlpool Cabrio for my Mom last year (no see through lid). It takes some getting use to. Most detergents caps are marked with a line 1, 2, 3 etc. We only fill the detergent cap to 1 (minimum) per the sales rep. at Lowe's. Using the "Fabric Softner" button even when you don't use Fabric Softner will make the machine add a lot more water. The "Bulky" setting will fill the machine full of water. We usually rinse/spin again after even after extra rinse.

  • @CDinKY thanks, good to know.

  • Bought one, complete garbage, we tried doing different things with it for 6 months, like detergent, settings, water softener,,,, just garbage. Whirlpool better give us our money back!

  • @elcheepo1 are you sure? What was wrong with it? did it break? How long have you had it for?

  • @TheUnixCube Thanks for asking... the clothes come out laden with detergent, and the clothes on top do now come clean at all. We only load half what we could, and use high quality HE detergent. We tried everything to get the blacks clean, but they just can't get cleaned!

Do you have any problems with your clothes not coming clean?

  • @elcheepo1 did you add the extra rinse cycle? also, you need to make sure you have it set to Heavy cleaning.

Also, at times, you can intervene and pause to move the clothes so they get submerged in the water. It should spin it so much everything gets a blast of detergent. Let me know.

  • @TheUnixCube Thanks again, I will set it to heavy cleaning and try it. We called the repair center to have a look at it. I should send you a picture of the clothes, you would be shocked at how they look after the wash, not to mention the musty smell....

Do you actually pause your clothes to move them around during your wash?

  • @elcheepo1 ok the musty smell is because this machine will not fully let out all the water after a wash... so you must put in affresh every month or few months to clean it.

Yes, sometimes if it is full, I do pause it, open up the lid and move them around mix em up. Then continue the wash. It gives me peace of mind :)

  • @elcheepo1 I bought the Cabrio washer and dryer about 15 months ago. I have to say, it works great. It holds three times the clothes my old top loader with an agitator did, uses 2/3 less water, and hot water too! With that said, I finish doing laundry a lot faster. If you're getting detergent stains on your clothes, I can only guess you're using too much. Follow the detergent directions and resist the urge to use more.

  • @itsmegp46 Do you have to manually go to the washer half way through the cycle and manually move the wet clothes so the upper clothes get washed?

  • @elcheepo1 The instructions and the various Whirlpool videos on youtube clearly state that not all clothes will be fully submerged but still get clean. Just the other day, I washed 21 white cotten briefs and 21 white T shirts as well as 21 white pair of socks in the same wash. I used the white cycle, bleach and detergent in the proper dispensers. As I did with my agitator washer, I stop the wash in mid rinse cycle so the bleach can do its job better. I get dazzling white undies and socks.

  • this is fancy. you should do a giveaway on it :P

  • @zach854 LOL!!! I probably should.

  • no way u can see the stuff washing!!!! i used to wanted to see how it would look now i know

  • @TeCh :)
