@MrCherryBoi118 listen he says power cord on A string at 5th fret. That means your pointer goes on that string and your pinky/ring finger goes on the seventh on the d. It's that simple.

Thanks to crazykidz. Whether Edge is playing figures or not does not matter. The part sounds better with harmonics and was played that way in the studio. Live I believe Edge forgot how to play it so had to result to his back up plan

The "little part" is actually played with harmonics like jacksoncrate said but the progression is e12, b12, g7, b12, g7, b12 (repeat)

watch vertigo from live 8. It is NOT harmonics. You can see that the edge is fingering the notes the way that he explained it in the video.

The notes you play on the little part are correct and I am not making myself clear at all. But the notes are played with harmonics. Starting with 12th fret e string then 12th fret b string then 9th I believe on b string. This gives the Edge sound on this section.
