  • illgresi means weed

  • @milancin It doesn't mean weed as in cannabis. It means weeds as in unwanted plants in your garden.

  • Sigur Ros is an amazing band and their muic is beautiful but judging by some of the comments sigur ros fans are really pretentious and full of themselves.

  • out of 122,562 views, only 4 dislikes. and they were all probably an accidental stumble of the finger. so to that, i like that.

  • @blacknwhite6969 Or people with a dislike of pale, white male buttocks.

  • @orcinus74 Thanks :)

  • @ItsBlendera

This song is actually all Icelandic, but most of their songs are in hopelandic

  • @thorirthinn Nice :) Thanks !

  • @orcinus74 no this is in Icelandic.

  • @ItsBlendera does no one read anymore? its all over the comments, jesus.

  • @duncansomerside Ham , yeah , but at the time I post the comment , I wasn't able to watch them.

  • @duncansomerside hey mate. Calm down a bit, some people like me are a bit lazy to start reading comments from the start...

  • "and the leaves change colours"

  • Is the song already done?

    I didn't notice it.

  • those 3 that pressed dislike must've pressed wrong ? :O or they are in to only heavy metal or so..

  • @Thorupbrodrene I listen to metal and I love sigur rós. not sure how the two are mutually exclusive...

  • I love this song! This is one of my favorite Sigur Rós songs.

  • can anyone translate?

  • So i just cried

  • @goalieman3030 It's good for the soul.

  • such a nice and peaceful song.....but their asses...i cant keep a straight face lol, im sorry

  • Let the world of television invade the lives of those who know not what harm it is doing to their tiny fragille minds.

Let all who are strong of heart, and pure of thought, cast aside those demons of hypocrisy, and live in a world, a realm, of their own construction...and be truly free.

  • @Hellishcrusade I gave up television a year ago and I can say I am a much more free spirited person. Life without television not only allows us to be free but to spend more time living life the way it is meant to be with family and friends.

  • @rimdog379 - Good on you. It's days were over long ago.

I liken television...that daily dross... to the last hours of an all-night party when all the fun people have gone home, or elsewhere..and only the drunk, the sad, and the pitiful remain....hoping for one last dance..or chance of bliss.

  • @rimdog379

Yea, I don't have a television anymore either. I may watch something on the internet occasionally but it is usually something I want to watch (like a documentary or other things that broaden my mind) as opposed to something that is just on. I have a lot more time on my hands to do things productive and more fulfilling.

  • @rimdog379 seems like you didn't give up internet. LOL.

  • @christinayeoh Haha, yea but the internet is better because I have more control over what I want to consume. I have learned many things over the internet. My brain is actually working when I'm on the internet, and there's not as many ads. Sorry if that sounds too defensive.

  • Ekki lengur kalt, hef aftur líf...

  • this is real.

  • shit album though compared to their others to be fair

  • @zKa0sz , "shit album" ? Do you have the minimum idea of what you're writing about? It's your opinion, ok. No problem.

  • Sigur Ros should be required listening to the entire human race.

  • You sleep till noon

You died but came to life

    The leaves change their colours

You ache(feel) - get up and dress

In a raincoat - you keep going into the bleak days

You tear out heart-roots that you stamp on

With your hands in your pockets, been through enough

    Walking in wet grass until

It shines on me through the branches

I look up and revive - the leaves change their colours

  • @theBunnyboy 2nd part: We find our goals, put down roots Undress our hearts We go out into a good day We plant and we give life and we blossom With our hands out of the pockets in earth you delve Now we remove ugly thoughts Time heals all, gives life, kindles fires Burns souls No longer cold, alive again My soul comes to life, paint(s) the world
  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • I hope that now I am not just going through a Sigur Ros phase. I want the music to be this beautiful each time I listen. As long as there is hope, I think that can happen.

    It really is therapy.

  • my favorite sigur song at the moment

  • @Jotyajdh same love sigur

  • I don't like the naked dudes on the album really not an atractive cover to me...

  • We're all naked under our robes, and we're all human, beautiful beings.

  • @DeepestSleep looking to the world, we are not being much beautifuls...

  • @pavelluiz I think we're being exactly what we need to be right now.. though it may sound harsh, this is all but a way for us to wake up. Some are more environmentally conscious, and some others are not, but I don't condemn those who aren't. It is a catalyst for great change, and I believe that we are on the edge of something bigger, and better coming our way. Growing pains are known to be painful.

  • @DeepestSleep...do you mean that we're all trapped in the World of the Invisible Scary Skeletons?

  • @DeepestSleep under my robe I have more robes. Trust me. Its not for sharing. Love this song though =)

  • @DeepestSleep

    They're still wearing shoes brah

  • @Mass6668 Shoes with SOULS in them!

  • @Mass6668 Have you ever tried to streak without shoes on? Not worth it.

  • @DeepestSleep both beauty and ugliness should be covered, modesty creates a sense of wonder.

  • Don't give entermymind00 thumbs down just because he's giving his opinion. He's no insulting the band or anything. I can imagine a lot of people that wouldnt find this cover attractive

  • @helietastik I absolutely love the album cover.

  • Sigur Rós AMAZING musician-composer...I never had discomfort for understanding the lyrics...NEVER !

  • This song is reminds me of a viking victory. Imagine it playing at Valhalla.

  • Perfect music

This music seems to just make perfect sense to me in a way few other bands do/can

  • what language is this in

  • icelandic or sigur ros 's hopelandic

  • Icelandic.

  • africaans..

    :))))

  • Perhaps TSIKRIS is implying that this song works in all languages.

  • Or TSIKRIS is just making a joke using obviousness(is that a word?)

  • @04smallmj thanks man

  • some of thier songs are in either Icelandic or Hopelandic which is a language created by them consisting of words with no meaning, so you can make of them what you want... i think =P

  • weeds

  • all of their song are either Icelandic or English. im from Iceland and i sometime dont understand the words right away.. little to streched and mingled to other words in the same sentince.

  • Pervert? :S

  • You just proved there point, the album represents that the human body is natural and should be nothing to be ashamed of, but today's society has made it out to be only perverted, sexual, and only meant for lust.... They are trying to show that, that shouldn't be the case.

  • thats a good point here

  • Wonderful. :)

It would do us all some good to really re-evaluate such conventions.

  • I always just make my own words up for the songs and sing along, one day a song can be a lovely positive song, but the next the same song could be really dark and sad, depends on my mood.

  • @977561

    Dude.. that's deep

  • Rest In Peace Tom

My one and only true friend

    Six years have passed

    But I haven't forgotten you

My tears remind me every day

  • In many of their songs, including all of the tracks on brackets (), they do not sing in Icelandic, but, just use syllables from an old Icelandic language. In the album booklet for brackets, you will notice all of the pages to be blank, they mean for you to write in what you think each song and lyric means.

  • one can write in any language in those brackets or is it only for english speakers?

  • they are not singing lyrics. just beautiful sounds. a vocal instrument. and i enjoy it very much.

  • @ellogabe nope.. this song actually has very beautiful lyrics in Icelandic ;)

  • Sigur Ros.... just so good.

  • Þú sefur alveg til hádegis Þú deyrð en lifnar við Laufblöðin breyta um lit Þú finnur til, ferð á fætur Íklæddur regnkápu Þú heldur út í skammdegið Þú rífur úr hjartarætur Sem þú treður á Með hendur í vösum Með nóg kominn Í votu grasinu geng Þangað til
  • can you trnaslate what they aree saying?

  • Comment removed

  • @andreaksen if there is anything icelanders are good at, its poems, we realy never could stop making those hehehe

  • This song is so beautiful. I can't even describe how it affects me.

  • my heart say thanks!

  • My favorite song. Ever.

  • This kind of music can save lives

  • it has

  • so much tears, its juts incredible!!!

    thnx sigur ros!!!

    really thnx

  • For anyone interested in understanding the lyrics, and continually asking oneself "WHAT IS HE SAYING?", try checking out page 3 of comments to this video, thanks to dylanofwomen. Thank you, dylanofwomen.

  • Finally, a video that doesn't have any insulting comments..

    Awesome ^^

  • how could anyone insult sigur ros?

  • I know right

  • Which language is it? I read something about finnish and icelandic....?

  • icelandic.

  • Actually some of it is just gibberish. I'm not being a smart ass, that is their style.

  • this song is only in icelandic, i am from Iceland and all their songs are either icelandic or hopelandic or both.

  • what is he singing here?

  • No, its not gibberish, its icelandic :).

  • idk the difference but it could be "gibberish"

sigur ros uses their own language called hopelandic. this is a musical interpretation of vocals.

  • this song is all icelandic though.

  • @dee2211

    yea people have told me

i dont speak either so cant tell =\

should learn though just for sigur ros

  • nope its gibberish there icelandic but they sing in gibberish

  • They have lyrics online that translate what they're saying so its more than likely Icelandic and not gibberish.

  • this song is amazing and the lyrics too, i love everything by Sigur Rós really i love them, =) =D

if someone want the transalte tell me and i´ll give ya =).

  • i love not to understand what he says..it makes me thing its something really beautiful..and im sure it is *-*

this song would make me cry i were used to crying ahhahaha this is relaxing, incredible, amazing

    thats simple,i love it

  • Exactly! something about the mystery of not understanding what he says makes it so much better

  • Nice but sad that i can't understand what he's saying.

  • try Wikipedia for more information about the band!

They have started a new type of music!

  • well they didnt. actually. but theyre great ;)

  • Nie mogę przestać słuchać tej piosenki nawet gram ją na gitarze <3 Śliczne...Otwiera duszę <3

  • i love how this isn't as high-pitched and anthemic as a lot of their other material. it's nice to hear them make slightly different music, everything they do is soooo beautiful.

  • I CRY WHEN I HEAR THIS SONG! :(

  • Incredible! *crying...*

  • I kind of feel like I have a religious experience whenever I listen to them.

  • me too

  • Icelandic!!! Really cool~

  • I really need to learn Icelandic. I feel like I'm missing out on so much, this is just too beatiful of a song not to be able to understand it.

  • We find our goals, put down roots

    Undress and our hearts

We go out into a good day

We plant and we give life and we blossom

With our hands out of the pockets in earth you delve

    Now we remove ugly thoughts

Time heals all, gives life, kindles fires

    Burns souls

    No longer cold, alive again

My soul comes to life, paints the world

  • You sleep till noon

You die but come to life

    The leaves change their colors

You ache - get up and dress

In a raincoat - you keep going into the bleak days

You tear out heart-roots that you stamp on

With your hands in your pockets, been through enough

    Walking in wet grass until

It shines on me through the branches

I look up and revive - the leaves change their colors

  • Thanks so much for the translation. =)

  • very appreciated :}

  • I heard that Icelandic is one of THE hardest languages to learn

  • Well, If you're familiar with languages like Swedish, Danish or Norse then it'll be a tad easier to learn Icelandic. But otherwise it's rather hard for a foreigner to learn.

  • it's not true. Icelandic grammar is realy easy! it is said that one of the hardest languages to learn (in the world) is chinese and lithuanian. well, I'm lithuanian, and maybe just for me icelandic is easy...

  • I heard somewhere that Finnish is meant to be really hard to learn.

  • Moikka

It can be, because it has different rules of grammar [several cases, etc]. It can be easy.

  • well, chinese (mandarin) grammar is the easiest i know... and the finnish grammar is very similar to the turkish and náhuatl. eventually i think any grammar of any language seems easy after understanding its structure.

  • @ursulee

    sorry.

fuck "die ärzte", sigur rós is the best band in the world!

  • And I guess playing the violin is easy after learning to play the violin. ;)

It's always the exceptions that make everything so difficult, I suppose. And there are plenty in most languages.

  • Cried in the car when i heard this, got home and looked up the lyrics, and my jaw dropped. It's basicly about exactly what im going through, needless to say I couldn't hold back the tears for a second time. My all time favorite song all categories hands down. Amazing.
