  • Beautiful!!! *****

  • Is this on your new CD?

    When is it being released?

Looking forward very much to hear it.

  • Just lovely This song was one of my Dads faves & to hear it sung by so many wonderful voices is a pleasure beyond words Thank you & please continue uploading you have no idea the peace a Welsh mans choir brings to others Ta from Dublin, Ireland

  • This New Yorker writes to say thank you to Solstaro for being nice enough to post this for us all; and also to these wonderful men with the lovely voices who sang it. Blessings on you.

  • Makes me proud the Welsh when they sign this, sheer genius..

  • Very impressive performance and I can't help it as I listen but to sing along with utmost feeing and emotion. Incidentally this song is my newly uploaded video # 17.

Accept my congratulation and thanks also to uploader.

  • I'm so proud to be welsh! Thank you for reminding me of this! Cymru am byth.... These valleys shall always echo with our voices within these pastures green, Let us forever keep the land of our fathers a place where their souls rest within the arms of our superb choirs! God bless this land! (R.I.P Gy, My inspiration and my hero in life and from beyond). I shall make you proud and keep your teachings alive as best i can. No other land comes close to the depth of our soulful, proud voices,.

  • I used to care for a man with dementia in a nursing home years ago, he was in a welsh choir when he was well, and we had a tape of him singing this solo. We would play it in the morning in his room as he was waking up and we got his things ready.I never knew what the song was but loved it. Gives me goosebumps.

  • I wonder what the choir sound like the accompaniest is too near the microphone? Do they do a cappello?

  • @PNCCaine Because the microphone is too near the piano. It's not a professional recording, but the choir still has a good tone..

  • and if i dieeeeeeeeeeeeee let me dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelet him live

  • Absolutly breathtaking gentlemen, thank you for reminding a young lady of her past xxxx

  • North or south.... Matters not. WE ARE BROTHERS OF CYMRU! im proud my gy sang for these guys. R.i.p Jack Twinning Davies. MY Hero....

  • Hi

Are yoiu the Canton Choir, being a Canton boy myself It was a pleasure to find you on YouTube.

I'm assuming the Canton is in Cardiff?

I play a harmonica and have a few tunes on YouTube, try looking for me?

    Take care,

    Derek

  • too bad there's no alt or soprane in it, with it it sounds more ''complete''. very nice anyway

  • PIANO RUINS IT BY BEING TOO LOUD

  • i like the original more just because it sounds more natural in the higher range IMO

  • Thanks for posting! Merry Christmas!

  • Bravo, gentlemen! One thing about the choir-master though: he had the knack for putting together a talented ensemble, but unlike high school or college students, these are grown, responsible men, very capable of learning their own parts and very likely finding and making the time to rehearse away from the main meetings...it is very likely some of them know keyboards themselves for this purpose.

  • This made me cry. Makes me miss my friend Wynford.

  • hmmmmm such a robust sound from the men the piano sounds kind of obsolete and childish next to their full sound.. I loved the mens arrangement.. but not the piano.. I think, ( in my opinion) it would have been better w/o the piano.. but great none the less

  • we sang this in choir today and I literally got chills.

    Beautiful song, beautiful arrangement

  • I want to join this choir!!

  • Just Amazing.

  • Spine tingling! Masterful performance.

  • brilliant dynamics and harmonies spot on. great sound from the choir.

  • brilliant dynamics and harmonies spot on. great sound from the choir.

  • To these Welsh gentlemen singing is as natural as breathing. Hyfryd iawn, diolch. Solstaro. Ydych chi'n seren

  • I agree with Bryntomos I went to the Eisteddfod to see another choir but were most impressed with the Cantorion Colin Jones and will be following them with interest now. It was a brilliant concert an evening to remember!

  • The choir gave a heart rendering performance of this song -nothing short of perfection - at last nights opening Gala concert of the Llangollen International Eisteddfod .The performance must have been especially poignant to one Terry Waite -sitting in the front row. . I will never forget it!

  • Looking forward to see the recording on Sunday July 13th S4C 7.30.

I hear that the choir did themselves proud.

  • I have listened to this many times and it is really incredible. Thank you. x

  • Piano is a bit loud, but the singing is brilliant

  • welsh male choirs...

Typical British choral tradition, with a flavour of Russian choral thickness and a sense of patriotic and manly pride... I didn't hear such beauty until one month ago. Thanks Youtube: I discovered one more choral treasure.

  • wow!!!!

  • Powerful performance

  • This sends chills down my spine Great Job!

  • When I hear this, I am aware of every hair follicle on my body.

These men sound ethereal. So powerful and yet so gentle.

  • Cantorion Colin Jones sets very high standards for TTBB choir singing.

In this recording I can hear each section quite distinctly but yet the parts merge into beautiful and masculine tone.

  • I love this!!

  • Les Miserables is amazing. GO SEE IT!

  • ardderchog beautiful

  • I love the way the choir makes this song sound a ton fuller. This might be my favorite piece from Les Miserables.

  • Colm Wilkinson doesn't hold a candle to this.

  • Sublime!

  • my father died yesterday nd i remembered my choir when i was in ps sang this, nd i watned a choir to sing this at my dads funeral but i cant find anyone who sings this in melbourne as a choir =[

  • I'm in Cantorion Cymraeg Victoria (Victoria Welsh Choir) and we perform this song.

  • Was this at George Bests funeral

  • Peter Corey sang this as they brought the coffin of George Best into Stormont

  • That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for posting this.

  • be still my heart. bravo gentlemen. you moved me to tears.

  • This is so special and I keep watching it. Thanks for posting. Such lovely voices. x

  • A lovely rendition that I enjoyed very much. Thanks for putting up this video

  • I understand this choir only meets once every two weeks - the Musical Director deserves the highest praise for putting together such a talented ensemble - the resonance of the baritones is truly captivating - bravo meister

  • I fully agree with "bigtube 1975" : please many more of such songs and such welsh mv choirs.

    Henk, Netherlands

  • Bravo! Purely Heaven. What a stunning, beautiful sound. The way your voices blend...I have sung for many years in a Very talented group...it takes ALOT of work...and even mroe talent...to blend that well together... I am blown away... PLEASE post more!! God Bless!!

  • Oh so beautiful. No one sings like the welsh male choirs

  • i agree.

  • Lovely, beautiful voices! Only thing is, Ive found with mens choirs, that no matter how good they are they cant convey the emotion in the song as effectively as one singer can.

  • Sobbed like a little baby first time I heard this. :-( so beautiful.

  • MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE...sung just unbelievably...phrasing...tone...control...EMOTION...thankyou wow ! I hope that this choir comes to AUSTRALIA sometime...

  • Well done gentlemen. Great version of a beautiful song. Does anyone know who wrote it?

  • The piece is from "Les Miserables". The music by Claude-Michel Schoenberg and the lyrics are by Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil

  • yah they kinda....um...suck at the beginning

  • don't think you qualify to comment having looked at your work

  • lmao touche...well ur entitled to your opinion

have fun being an ass all by your lonesome

    God bless =P,

    AMC

  • but, hey they kinda ...um... blow you away by the end. Superb phrasing here for just a popular show song. Beautiful depth of feeling. Light and airy accompaniment. A gem.

  • i wouldn't say blow away..but yah the ending's good.

  • Thanks for that amc, but how did you manage to reply two hours before I sent! Clever that. Good old BST srikes again?

  • tu est fou -_- qu'est ce que vous dites...

  • @amc91a Thank you Lil' Kim.

  • makes the hair on the back of my neck tingle, absolutely lovely.

  • this verision is nearly as good as the les miserables.

  • I'm not religous, but that was beatiful!

  • Not sure Cameron Mackintosh was either. Nor Boublil, Schönberg, Kretzmer, or even (especially) Victor Hugo. Yes it is beautiful.

  • this brings tears to my eyes,,beautiful and breath-taking,

  • Breath-taking!

    God bless,

    ~Robin Hood
