Marty i've always been wondering, when you do a barre chord on an acoustic guitar, is it easier or harder than on electric? i've never played an electric guitar yet but i've just started mastering barre chords on acoustic, and my friends say pressing down on frets on electric guitar is easier...

@MohannudM I'm not Marty, but... usually for me it's easier, but it depends on how your guitar is set up. Like how close your strings are to your fretboard.

@MohannudM the height of the strings will make a difference obviously because of the distance you have to press before you actually fret the note but unless you are playing an electic set up for slide I 98% guarantee you will find an electric notably easier to fret. Electric strings are much more bendable. On an acoustic the strings are "tougher" because you have to vibrate the guitar to make sound, with an electric they vibrate through a magnetic field...so less energy need be applied.

@SwissArmyKnifez Try different settings on your distortion with your volume at least half way up on your amp. Your knobs should be all the way up on your guitar so all the sound possible is getting sent to your amp. Fuzz distortion is awesome for a strat, and if you can lower the bass and raise the mids and trebles, that baby will whine. If you can, turn your reverb/presence knob up to at least 4. Bridge pickup is for searing solos, neck pickup is for rhythm. Play around with it!
