Yea dude, I have an Arctic Cat Panther 295 (Not many around) It's got more HP than the 303, and yes, mine is a Sachs Wankel. But it still has a LOT of torque for a little guy. I can keep up with a lot of 400 cc older sleds, with conventional motors
Diesel engines are very heavy for their power output and work best at constant low RPM. Snowmobiles need to be light and tend to vary RPM alot. 2 stroke motors are best suited for that. Of course theres the environmental impact which is why a lot are going 4 stroke now. A diesel doesn't make any sense. Theres a video on Youtube of somebody with a Ski Doo and a diesel motor but its no more powerful than the 2 stroke it replaced and its heavier and slower...
wow...cool...when did arctic cat go with suzuki engines......i used to have a rx-7 and wondered why mazda and even other companies never gave the rotary engine it's due respect....
i would say MAZDA is the only company that has given the rotary its due respect. They were the first automaker that mass produed them, and that was along time ago. They have had a rotary engine in its line up ever since. But your totally right when you say "wow....cool" that is a great sounding engine. DOes it run on mixed gas? or is it injected? Post some more of the body and engine please!!!
reminds me of the old 250 citation days

Did you mount your camera on your helmet?? How you do it??
kenneykole 2 years ago
No, just held the camera in my left hand. I wouldn't recommend doing it that way.

Those old Cats with the wankels were never very fast, but with having soemthing like only 20 horse. they had a hell of a lotta torque.
they are good for pullin stuff outta the bush.

rotary engines are way more expensive. there is a better power to wieght ratio and they take up way less space
1skiinIan 3 years ago
needs a 13b or renesis

one word: renesis
