  • dance groove.....

  • Flashback to when music was music

  • a good groove tune to play at a party

  • Did anybody see Unsung on Monday? I had no idea Ray Parker, Jr. was this guitar virtuoso!!! This is a jam.

  • @chigal09 watching it right now

  • Thank you, Unsung!

  • Geroge Clinton is a class act, even though Ray is one of the most talented guitarist and song writer in the biz at the time this song is so close to one nation under a groove he could have been sued. Hughey lewis wasnt so 4giving and had to settle in court 4 ghost buster's. Ray was victim of songwriting credit for u make me feel like dancing but didnt sue cause the white music industry ruled & he coulda been black balled.

  • @biggman633 Damn!!!! I never caught that. Its similar BUT not the same. Both are Extremely FUNKY tracks, Ray,Brother I had all your stuff with Raydio and "A woman needs love" LP was my favorite along with "Rock on". I really wore out "Hot Stuff". You were a true Funk "GENIUS".

  • @biggman633 this is where George Clinton got the beat 4 one nation under a groove, he talked about it but Ray wasn't trippin'.

  • I have been looking for this song for years!

Ever since I hear it on one of my Mom's Funk CDs, but there weren't any lyrics so I couldn't find it.

    Thank you, Unsung!

  • Dis was the jam - Vallejo, CA - 1979!

  • RollerSkating Rink!

  • Wow...didn't even know what this song was called...but I knew who "stank it up!!!" You go, RPJ & Raydio!!!

  • I need this one, just to boost my funky gene... I wuz a little low on the stanky...

  • I Still Love this Song!!!!!!

  • Man "For Those Who Like To Groove" and "Still In The Groove" are ageless classics. It take me back to an era when I was really young, hip and enjoyed life to the fullest!!! I'm pausing (taking a break from hitting a few dance steps from back in my day) to write this!!! UNBELIEVEABLE it is. Keep up the excellent posting!!! Great job indeed to a true ole skool lover!!!

  • oh man this is the shitt. forgot about this one, its been so long since i heard it. y don't artist make more instrumentals. every song dosen't need words, just listen to this one pure funk. ray has been slept on. and saw a clip of this on soul train.

  • hm reminds me the music in NBA JAM T.E in sega mega drive.. 80's FTW!!!!

  • i think more songs of today should be WORDLESS lol. like seriously sumtimes we need that, just let thee beat soothe u. sumtimes vocalists of today have a tendency to just cause one to be ANNOYED by theirs songs when they should have just left it blank and let thee imagination of listeners fill it all in. alot of times vocals ain't even needed

  • @AikoSatin I agree wholeheartedly...I even considered not even typing this comment I felt so strongly with your statment.

  • THIS SONG IS SOOOOOOOOOOO REAL!

  • 1980 Vicenza American Highschool in Vicenza, Italy. Songs like this had my doing my white boy dance every weekend!

  • BAD AS S JAM.. HAD IT BUT LOST IT AND GLAD TO B FOUND AGAIN

  • Real FUNK!....don't try and destroy THIS one! If you do use this beat, give the man some credit...Don't act like you made this perfect beat yo self....RESPECT!

  • love that guitar riff

  • Oh Yeah, I remember this song (actually no one's singing, is it STILL considered a song)? I guess so....

    :)

  • @Getrealpeeps Naw, it's a poem. WTF!!!

  • @lc146391 SAY WHAT????

  • Everyone send Ray a message and tell him to bring da FUNK back. His jazz is nice but the world is ready for this kind of music again. If he doesn't hurry I'ma have to get on my keyboard and figure out how to play it, lol.

I love funk music, can never get enough of that stuff.. God bless you...

    Straight Wreckin 1994

  • Many Thanks For The Post ♥♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸!!

  • YouTube is the best place to find funk. Much easier than downloading tons of torrents hoping to find good music. YouTube allows fast and easy previews, and leads to you more awesome funk.

  • Oh shit I'm having a flashback moment. Must stop before I jump on a skateboard.

  • fabolous!!!! thank you ever so much for uploading this great song!!!this music is piece of art

  • Listen to the guitar in the breakdown! Forget all that Van Halen/ Yngwie Malmsteen crap. THAT is some guitar playing! Ray and Nile Rodgers should get more respect!

  • @funkee1

DAMN STRAIGHT! YOU KNOW WHAT MADE ME TIGHT AS CRABS BUTTHOLE WITH THE GUITAR AND BASS EVEN THOUGH I PLAYED METAL/PUNK/? FUNK! THAT'S RIGHT! FUNK WAS SO DEAD BY THE 90'S ALL I COULD FIND WERE PUNK AND METAL GROUPS TO PLAY WITH. MY HEART IS ALWAYS WITH THE FUNK THOUGH. HEAVY METAL SORRY....... FUNK IS FOR THE CHOPS AND THE TIGHTNESS! IT WILL GIVE YOU TIMING EVEN IN THE WAY YOU TELL A JOKE. BRING BACK DA FUNK!!!!!! BEEN WAITING 17 YEARS! ONE LOVE!

  • @funkee1 I like your thinking......

  • Big up to those who remember this and even bigger up to those who danced and freaked to it back in the real day!! Remember, old vinyl never dies, it just warps! Nuff said!

  • Man! I was in the fifth grade when this came out! I had it on vinyl and took to school for a class party! Yes sir>>>that was back in 80 baby....

  • It sounds like the jazz jackrabbit theme :))

  • I Love Old Funk!!

  • HEAVYBBASS LINE NO DOUBT! BUT NO GROUP CREATED BASSLIINES SWEETER THAN PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC IN WHICH THIS SOUNDS LIKE AGONY OF DEFEET BASSLINE. BUT NO DOUBT STILL FUNKY!

  • This WOULD be a hit now if it were in heavy rotation. But then that would change the game. Clear Channel and the advertisers would lose control. The musicians would be back in charge. It's still about power to the people y'all.

  • @davidgoodlettmusic

RIGHT ONE POWER TO THE PEOPLE. ALL PEOPLE! THE BUSINESS....HAS TO BE BUSINESS LIKE. OR THE MUSIC INDUSTRY HAS TO BE INDUSTRIOUS. WELL IT'S SO MUCH EASIER TO FAKE THE FUNK THAN GO SCOUT OUT AND FIND THE FUNK! I FEEL YA. REVOLUTION GON COME! DESTROY BABYLON!

  • Old School Classic....Hi Mushroom,Starrbaby & Tara

  • sooooo groovy! I love this!

  • This was ray, doing his thing, before he got tagged as the "Ghostbusters guy!"

Funkin' it up with Raydio and grooving the music, against that disco crap!

  • ltinsley2, there are more people that dig this stuff than you think. It's just tough finding venues to play this stuff. In the CT & NY area there are allot of horn driven funk bands and some of them are as good as some of the big names, of the past.

Just have to dig deep to find them. When Tower of Power comes our way, each year, it seems like people come out of the woodwork to see them. Problem is you can't hear any of this Funky stuff, on the radio. I am a horn player myself, biased, yes a bit

  • wow..this was the shit!!

  • I love these funk tunes.

They're all so sleazy .... but in a good way.

Makes me wanna fuck pussy and sip on

    Pinacoladas at the same time.

Hey, a waitress just offered me some

martini shots and a fruit platter.

Should I fall into temptation and take it ??

Or should I keep fucking this blonde ho while

sipping on my pinacolada ?? TOUGH DICISIONS...

Long live 80s funk !! Yeaaaah !! Bring it on !!

  • @phileustace FOUL...but funny!

  • You're welcome!!! Ray was and still IS the ish!!! I always thought he was SO CUTE!! He is very underrated. As long as he has fans like us, rhymeister, he will NEVER be underrated nor forgotten. This is why I love YouTube. They have damn near ALL the jams I used to listen to as a kid. Youngsters today don't know REAL music. Every time I hear a sample, I long for the REAL DEAL!!!! • I was in 9th grade when this hit came out.......

this a great tune. In fact, I bet if they play this on the radio again for a little while, it would become a hit again.

  • And you know this...Man!

  • When this came out, raydio was riding a wave. A party was thrown into high gear with this one on the wheels, but it also allowed thaoe who were holding up the wall, to chill and groove as well.

Not the greatest musical innovation ever, but for what it was, I loved it!

  • Great song. Those were the days when instrumentals became hits. I don't think an instrumental funk/dance song would become a hit today.

  • You're absolutely right. Only but a few folks left who dig real music. It's a crying shame.

  • the is my favorite jamming joint of all time!! Just chilling on a hot day. cruising in Forest Park in St. Louis!!
