For a "shit" sounding kit these sound pretty damn great to me! Not a huge fan Omni's though. Nice but they just seem a bit too electronic for my tastes.

@DizzyGingerr Mayer has a load of talent but instead of playing the kit he f's around trying to show boat every note, i also don't like the way he tunes his beautiful Sonar kit,it sounds like a dime store set. @lgttb1 There are countless videos across the web and DVD that show Mayer playing with an incredible sounding Sonor kit. You are judging the poor quality of this recording. It's obvious this was recorded using a pro-sumer or lesser quality video camera. Take into account the acoustics of the room and the effects the audio engineer used and it's hardly valid to criticize Jojo's talent based on these factors. Like him or not, he's clearly one of the best players today.

@lgttb1 I will see Jojo in person next week and probably won't embarrass myself by telling him to pull this video - especially since he wasn't the one who posted it. Pretty sure he doesn't mind it being here and it's the least of his worries that someone isn't a fan. I can hear past the poor sound quality and appreciate the performance. But I am a fan. You are entitled to your opinion but you can't have everyone remove videos that aren't aligning with your personal taste - that's just silly :)
@lgttb1 Probably the most versatile drummer I have ever seen. From Nerve to his jazz trio Depart, he displays 2 opposite ends of the musical spectrum and shines doing both. I've been playing for 34 years and after discovering Jojo, I realize how little I know about playing drums. I used to think I was better than average until Jojo came along. I have gone back to sticks and a drum pad because of him and I've never been more excited about playing drums and being a drummer.
I've travel from Hong Kong to GuangZhou to see this tour on 9 Oct, seeing jojo's live performance after watching all his videos million times all these years, and even got a chance to spoke to him face to face, it's just amazing!
this is the only time i dig this very modern electric club/dub/whatever you want to call it...when it's just a backtrack to showcase a real musician lol

He's starting to go through another change like he did years back. new cymbals/different grips/he's playing Evans now, etc........someone like him Has to keep moving. Thomas Lang too, DW drums, playing pretty much all matched grip too!! It's great too see though, lets you know they're still pushing for something, still growing/changing. Gotta Love it.........don't know about that Omni Crash though, = ) Lol..... jury's still out on that one!

@jmr2master That's the cool bit: the store owner's motto is: first hear, then buy, which means I can play anything I want, all his kits are properly tuned ^^ He'd even build a Siamese Monster if I asked him to XD Haven't been there quite a while though, gotta plan a visit... Think those omni's would fit in nicely in my setup!
@cheapshotdrummer I feel ya, if you have the playing to match it its a great cymbal. The only thing is its a dry-ish ride so you will want to work on your ride patterns.
