Though I disagree with the premise that there is a god in the first place, if there was, dumping out all those rules to be free seems kind of childish and on the order of stupid. If you had given evidence that the god was evil and it was therefore GOOD to disobey him then yeah, go for it, but just dumping out the rules cause you're pissed off at having to obey them makes you sound like a rebellious teenager whining about how unfair it is that you have a curfew.
Good observation. You're right; I did not show a valid reason why the rules needed to be dumped. I tend to take the side of the teenage over the parent.
I don't currently have a good enough connection to watch the video again and confirm, but I believe it was about a non-specific, non-denominational god. My point was that rules aren't something to be discarded just on the basis of being rules. Specific rules yes, if they're detrimental; but some rules are quite good. Traffic rules for instance.
I agree that we shouldn't obey rules on biblical authority, but it would be ridiculous to discard rules just because they occur in the bible, etc.
That was awesome!

I think the bible gives good reasons to dump the rules.

I agree, have you read the 10 commandments? You can probably take 3 and dump the rest. Watch a video from George Carlin - 10 commandments. RIP

Carlin's wisdom will live forever.

You're probably right, but we live in a world with too many rules. We need to be able to say no to the rules in order to freely say yes.
