  • Go team Marty

  • *get careless around fir'bolg/Soulless*

    "Casualty..."

*crossing a body of water and a host of Fetch appear just before you reach the shore*

    "CASUALTIES!"

A lone Trow or Forest Giant tearing into a line of fir'bolg will essentially have the same effect.

  • @pmalexander5 MAKE WAY FOR THE DWARF

  • someone make a 10 hour loop of this please.

  • this is so touching i just want to cry

  • if there's ANY song i want played at my funeral, this is it.

  • @DooMGuy117 I was thinking the same thing

  • Fuck, I wish Bungie would remake this game. I loved the game as a kid, but it's graphics haven't exactly aged well...

  • @MiRyRE Dude, theres still a tight community that play this game online, thats just saying that the graphix don't mean shit.

  • @MiRyRE I'm fine playing myth and myth 2 the way they are, and as an article I read pointed out, games 10 yrs old didn't try to pretend they were reality, they had their own reality. trying to be reality and failing (as modern games do) seems tacky, but myth will never lose its beauty.

that said I wish bungie would remake it too. rich as the remaining members are they gotta know that this game right here was the peak of meaning in their lives.

  • This song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

  • i was going to shoot myself in the hesd but..............this song....makes me want to live

  • i shall wait for bungi's next game x3

  • I hope that everyone knows halo is about a religion tho im not sure its obvious because they use words as "halo, ark, covenent, banshees, spirits, ghost, spartans, elites, and other stuff i didnt even include

  • @adventerousjawa There are alot of Biblical references in the game.

  • @adventerousjawa lol you know Spartans banshee and the vehicle and weapon names don't have anything to do with the bible, covenant doesn't refer to the bible as a covenant is a group of something. halo is name because of its shape and the ark is named because of its main concept the center of everything, an ark has many meanings and 1 being an ark such as a boat while in this case it means center of everything.

  • @adventerousjawa no, it's not, stop looking for ulterior meaning where there is none.

  • @adventerousjawa spartans were a type of soldier

elite is a word to describe "An exclusive group" a ghost is a ghost, a banshee is a european country (not sure which one, but i think it's ireland) that when it screams you die. A covenant is a group, Halo is a called halo because it's in the shape of one. And the Ark is a just a name. And of course it's about religion, it's about the covenant's religion, didn't you pay attention at all during the story?

  • Long live Bungie's inspiring games, Well done Bungie, Well done....

  • Remember Madrigal. Remember Halo. Long live the chief.

  • I loved this song before it was used in halo.

  • This just popped in my head. I cant believe its been over a decade since i played all those Myth games. I remember wanting to buy the soundtrack cds but always putting it off. Thank you for putting them up.

  • Wish there was an auto replay that just looped the music continuously.

  • @scarredscorpion up in your url bar, add "repeat" after "youtube." So it should look like "youtube repeat . com/ watch..."

  • @Akkiko Thank you so much! This is even more awesome with a constant loop!

  • the books did not say he was mcpo of the navy. they just said he was that rank

  • I'm not trying to be a dick though...

  • Actually Master Chief Petty Officer John 117 is still alive. If you actually waited through Halo 3's credits, you'd know.

  • @Truekill83 Actually i do believe he is Master Chief Petty Officer OF THE NAVY! it says in the books

  • @OrbitalStudio A toast to earths mightiest heroes, lest we forget their unwavering courage in the face of overwhelming adveristy. Their heroism was in keeping with the highest military traditions and their spirits carry on in all of our hearts. We move forward, and remember.

  • Greatest. Easter. Egg. Ever. In the halo games.

  • halo sucks :/

  • @maastona thats just your oppinion. and your oppinion, my good sir, sucks balls.

  • @maastona what? do you not like fun? is that your problem?

  • @alexandercns Hell yeah

  • Whoever says myth is better than Halo, be glad for Halo. Were it not for that, I wouldn't have downloaded all three Marathon games and bought both myth games (just so you know, BUNGIE FTW)

  • We evolved combat.

    We saved Earth.

    We finsihed the fight.

    We prepared to drop.

    We remembered Reach.

And we figured out this song is from a past Bungie game.

  • @DarkonFullPower And that Bungie also made 3 games-_-

  • @DarkonFullPower btw We danced hard to it in Club Errera

  • Bring back memories :)

  • @The3rdPage you're comparing a fps shooter to a strategy game...major difference

  • count yourself lucky if you now that myth is based on a series of books called the black company.

  • i actually feel a bit emotional hearing this again.. lol better days..

  • man i miss myth

  • that replay button is gonna get worn down...

  • @SliferNorth i wish the song were like 3 minutes

  • @xXsudeki4Xx I died after the music ended

  • @palindinX I had a dream where I was fighting a war and got stabbed in the back by a spear and this song played.

  • i had dream where I was falling from a TALL castle and for a moment everything was slowing down....this song came on, all i could see was a war going on (similar to the war in Myth) and that was the most AWESOMENESS dream i had....

  • You know, Bungie has recenlty announce a cooperation with Activision wich inolves support for a new siries of games. It may be a rebirth of Myth. Maybe.

  • @Viskproductions THANK GOD IT WANT WITH INFINITY WARD. INFINITY WARD ANTI HACKIN SYSTEM SUCKS DICK

  • if only this song were longer

  • I'd listen to this song all day, and it wouldn't get old.

  • Without sturdy foundation, a building cannot be held, and if it is not held then no work may be fulfilled. Bungie is the building, Halo is the work, but Myth is what it was all built upon.

  • Can someone explain to me why this is hidden in Halo, i know they were both made by Bungie its just really bugging me, its like this was the best game they made and they are giving it a tribute...

  • @ThePepsiSam Cuz it is the best game they ever made... dont get me wrong i like Halo but Myth is on another level.

  • i still have this game, it was my cousin's and i borrowed it off her and now like 14 years later i found it recently in a box.

  • This song is the only thing that keeps me from shooting myself in the head.

  • @TheHaloWhore lol.....

  • @TheHaloWhore thats depressing

  • I didn't even know they had anything but techno on games back then. This is must've blown the industries frikin' minds.

  • Thumbs up if you came here from Halo 2 and Halo 3 Easter Egg!

  • Marty O'Donnell you are the man.

  • close your eyes and listen to this beautiful song

  • This is a beautiful piece of music! Makes me want to look into this game more. Also makes me hope that Bungie will try perhaps a more fantasy based world for their next series. =P

  • this will make you cry like a grade A pussy

  • how can i get this

  • @manupstairs78991 limewire its free or mp3 raid also free

  • @MrTurferPop i still cant find it

  • @MrTurferPop limewire is a std ridden los vegas prostitute use firefox's youtube downloader app

  • @losthaze - You mean std 'riddled'?

  • @panterahead667 point is limewire=bad, firefox's youtube downloader app=good

  • Well its the most beutiful piece of music ive ever heard

  • Comment removed

  • I always forget about the games that Bungie made between Marathon Infinity and Halo... Even though they're good.

  • were di you get the song? lol i am do dum to get it lol

  • Oh my god. I loved this song. It's much better with the narrator though =D

    That game was so epic.

  • a gold game, for a gold age

    this game was fabulos

    it's sad because it's forgotten now :(

but, it still remains a excelent game

  • reminds me of mistakes made

  • I don't know why, but this song is so inspirational.

  • I never heard it quite that way before.

  • i always thought that this song was originally from Halo and bungie had canceled it but now i see its from myth

  • i want this as my ringtone

  • this song really shows the mysteries and beauty of life

  • This plays on a ledge in Halo:combat Evolved

  • Think I was around 13 when I first experienced this game, and this music. It's a part of my soul.

  • thus is tje basy gamr evwt dry um dtunk

  • This game should have been on PC Gamers top 100.

  • That it wasn't tells only how much one can rely on that listing. If they don't include Myth 1 and 2 in the top-end of the list, then they're plain wrong.

  • exactly. Everything's consolized, and P.C. Gamer themselves have become nothing but a whore of big publishers, no different than hollywood. The only difference between hollywood and the games industry now, is that in hollywood the OCCASIONAL director gets creative control, IF they make enough money. In games, the only creative control is the bottom line. PC gamer did nothing but slide into bed with this and legitimize this. Thanks a lot, journalists, you really did your job.

  • There's hardly anything surprising that I'm stuck playing games from the 90's with hardware made to run the most recent games. Games worth playing are few and far between these days. But at least there's amateur productions and odd exceptions now and then.

  • @mawhar Yes but you see, they can't stop the flow of inspiration, good games will come still

  • @mawhar sorry but I thought consoles are really like PC's these days, with all that up to date hardware and more and more sophisticated controls, video games are much easier to understand but isn't that a good thing?

  • While Myth II is considered the better game out of the first two, I enjoyed the music from the first game a bit more. Variations of this song, "Forest Heart", and the epilogue are some of my favorites.

And fear not everyone, for the Myth series (and Marathon) can still be played online thanks to MariusNet. Keep these games alive while you still can!

  • this is the best, THE BEST GAME EVER!!

the story, the soundtracks, the gameplay, all is perfect!

I'm playing now empire II total war, and remind me this game, not as good as myth, but closer!

  • myth > halo. halo is cool but it doesnt have that timelessness that myth does.... and im drunk

  • drunkness is awesome, and myth is the best game ever. myth is so profound and beautiful that it makes most good books look bad.

it's also amazing that music could exist for centuries and yet after all that time something as simple and beautiful as this song could still be written.

  • apparently its in odst as well :/

  • no it's not

    i own the game

  • as do i and i can assure u it is... idk wat the lvl is but it has to be on legendary, and its the one wher u fly in banshees the whole time

  • oh ok...

  • Comment removed

  • this is in halo 3

  • bungie put these in the halo games as a fan service to people who played the myth games

  • honestly... i wouldnt be like i am if myth doesnt exist... it changed my life... hard to believe but its true

btw. for all fans... there ist still a community just google for: project magma

  • Hey, im trying to start playing online, having a bit of trouble getting it started. Any recomendations?

  • thanx a bunch, i got this game in the late 90s and have had dial-up until last year so i never got a chance to play it online. When i finally got internet, i found out bungie crapped out on it.

  • they used these in halo

  • It's hard to believe that something can be this beautiful.

  • I love this song it sounds like it a part of me

try hereing it when youre eye are clous sorry i have bad seppeling

  • dont you know y they put this song in halo? i think almost nobody knew about myth so they created halo and put this song in so halo fans would know how great myth is. the door on ivory says so.

  • hmm. Some speculate that halo is a prequel to marathon.

  • Myth made me who I am today.

  • Consider yourself lucky that you now know that this fabulous piece is from Myth, and not Halo. Teach yourself about Myth. It may just be the 'video game' with the most heart and soul and downright substance-based games to emerge from a pioneer era of next generation electronic entertainment. A golden game from a golden age that I fear newer generations of gamers will miss completely. Consider yourself lucky you know about Myth.

  • Yeh myth is better than halo. Oni and Myth are the best games !!!

  • @Gaff2019 definitely the best video game with the best music and a completely captivating story line.

  • @Gaff2019 Hey I played it long ago too, I know of that era well..I was a gamer from day one

  • @Gaff2019 Well said Sir

  • @Gaff2019

Yeah, '96-98 were so good! Time, when the graphics has grown up, and ideas were still yound and not that twisted as nowadays. Myth had such perfect ideas and lacked polishness (and this is so cool, you feel yourself a survivor)! It's way better than Myth 3, which is polished, but completely soulless.

  • @Gaff2019 It is from Myth but Bungie made Myth, This song was put into halo becuase one of their music developers died

  • @Gaff2019 cant agree with you more, that the 90s have the best games, and this is the proof , just flawless , it has something that other games dont

  • @Gaff2019 damn i remember this game haha n im 19 i bought it a long time ago bundled with green berets both games were great deff memorable

  • @Gaff2019 Come on, Halo has a ton of soul and heart put into it. So do a lot of other great modern games. Myth was amazing though.

  • @Gaff2019

Have you heard of the older game Gnop?

  • @Gaff2019 bungie made myth and halo -_-

  • @buba132 Myth made bungie and Bungie made Halo, that is the way it is.

  • @Gaff2019 still one of the best games ever produced for me!

i loved the fallen lords and even its funny eastereggs like the caravan with the drunken dude or the secret dwarf level. god i miss this thankgod i had my limited edition myth packet back then...

  • @Gaff2019 It speaks so because Bungie knew what it was doing. As you can see, they carried it over to the Halo series. Marty O'Donnell ftw :D

  • @Gaff2019 u are a bit wrong with that ^^ its from Myth thats trouh but its also from Halo, where u can move to secret places/events in every single game to hear the song and i think it was in Halo2 u can see an lonely invulnerability Banshee next to this place

Excuse my bad english im a German guy^^

  • @Gaff2019 I myself never played Myth, so I can't say much there... But I can full heartedly agree that the newer generation can never hold up to what the older ones gave us. Whoever came up with the saying "Every next generation will be greater then the last" clearly has never played the glorious games that the NES, N64, PS (and PS2 in some cases) had offered us.

  • @Gaff2019 Huzzah, well said brother, well said. Though I fear we may never see a game like this again, it's good to know we have people like you who I can reminisce with.

  • Bungie made Myth years ago.

  • the music reminds me of alot of things like gogusos

  • Just an unique piece.

  • I found this song on halo and halo3, were do i find it on halo2?

  • On one of the maps, don't know the name of it. Behind a big metal gate you can hear the song..

  • I think it's Ivory tower cause i heard this but barely i had 2 turn the volume up. Thanks anyways!

  • actually, in halo 2 and 3 (maybe even 1) there is a hidden spot where it will start playing the soundtrack

  • there is its on assault on the control room look it up on youtube

  • why did i get thumbs down? i have the myth games im just saying i found this on halo 1

  • Im speechless.

    Memories,

    Nostalgia,

Good old days and a tear to my eye.

  • ... Their leaders became known as The Fallen Lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the West.

  • Indeed.

  • In 30 years they reduced the the civilized nations to carrion and ash, until the free city of Madrigal alone defied them...

  • i can't get this song off of itunes -.-

  • halo: combat evolved OST

search it and i believe you will find this song

  • greatest game/s of all time. Hands down!

  • I can certainly understand why a lot of people think it's from Halo, if you haven't heard of Myth but have heard this song then you'd think 0:29 and on was Halo-inspired.

  • kewl =]

  • Beautiful piece of work.

  • the world was beautiful once. this song is proof.

  • this reminds me of the olden days good memories and sad days always being happy

  • makes me cry , but its a good cry. (rock said it best)

  • this song and wonderful world by the man who made it "Lois Armstrong" he's the only one who can sing it, and these 2 songs are the most sad and great songs ever

  • @ConfusedRock

    now this world is ruined

note to ev'ryone: this message is at number 50

  • @ConfusedRock the world still is beautiful we just don't notice it that often anymore.

  • @silver493 and that's a real shame, too.

  • Myth is the franchise that actually put Bungie on the map. Without Myth's success, there probably never would've been a Halo.

  • IS THE SIEGE OF MADRIGAL FROM MYTH?

  • yea bro alot of ppl think it is from other bungie games due to halo 3 secret song thing. From myth the fallen lords made by bungie in the late 1990's

  • i wish i could play this :(

  • beautiful music
