God my game is so fucked up, all I did was put in -dxlevel 80, and this place is all bright, no lighting effects whatsoever and just looks nothing like this, but for some reason Ravenholm works fine after I quit and reload, at least the city and mines do, the traintracks go back to getting fucked up no matter what.

this is not Black mesa, dumb kid, black mesa is not in existence anymore in hl2, though people often refer to it, to find out more, for dumb people like you and for the curios please use googe. It unlocks new gates and has the key to knowledge, often to pass a test too, ahem.

Vortis so badass while going down the elevator first you see one playing chess with someone then you see 2 vorts making food and then you see another 2 vorts powering the generators and finally one is with Eli Vance and so vortigaunts amke the most badass character in videogame history, next to D0G of course :P

I've been looking for info on some monster i saw in a trailer for half-life 2, well all you saw was this blue glowing tendril come up behind this combine thats dropped infront of you (and Alex goes "Oh no..") and it impales him.. but I haven't seen anything like that yet. as stated, that thing is a cremator head, a character that was supposed to appear in hl2, now in hl2 beta

the cremator had the job to burn the dead bodies with some acid spitting cannon
