  • what amp and what settings are you using ?

  • Man you sure have a lot of distortion pedals and all that stuff. Lol.

  • This may sound like a wierd, way off topic question (because it is), but how long does it take to form calluses on your finger tips? Im a newbie with his little shitty squier. Just wonderin though, thanks!

  • @Raptorfy a month or so probably

  • scusa era il mio gatto

  • crepa=capra=preca=praca=carpa=carpe=scarpe=spreca=braghe=negrone=in culo a te

  • certo che per tutti i pedali che c'hai sei proprio na pippa der cazzo, crepa

  • try tone riders, there cheap but great.

  • is OD3 the best yet cheapest overdrive out there today?

  • A Hiwatt amp with an Epiphone guitar?

  • efffeeeccctsss everywhere! wow dude that was amazing.. How would you compare multi effects with a stomp? do they sound almost identical? I'm still in dilemma what to choose. Thanks!

  • Why do you have an epiphone... You can afford all those effect modifiers... Yet you play an epiphone? Nice looking guitar though... But I'm sure a nicer guitar isn't far out of price range.

  • you spend 5 years to learn all this pedals. If you will have all this time for learn tracks now you will was master player :)

  • Would love to see some more stuff from you soon.

  • Nice full tone. Have you changed out your pickups? If not, congrats on getting such a crisp sound from the stock epi pups.

  • Yup Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and 59 in the neck

  • If I'm trying to pull out some clear but heavily distorted tones (see Between The Buried And Me: Ants of The Sky) would you recommend the Boss Metal Zone II or the Ibanez Tubescreamer reissue?

  • Depends on your amp. The amp would be more important than the pedal

  • Could I use one of these as a gain boost for my amp?

  • You could use the OD-3 as a boost but there are better pedals on the market for boosting your signal. I use a an SPF Ego Booster

  • so ur kinda fucked if ur house burns down right?

  • Daaaaamn! you have at least $15000 worth equipment in that room

  • @MayhemLeader

    keep rockin yeah

  • aprendete otrao cansion

  • i think there was a boss gt-8 too...

  • este puto tiene la guita y no sabe tocar la guitarra

  • SEX at o:13

  • deam!

  • You may be a pedal hoarder

  • Holy freaking pedals, Batman! You have some serious gear there. Great playing also, sir.

  • I have a few TC Electronics products. I have the Nova Delay, Nova Reverb and the Nova Modulator. I also use the G-Natural in my acoustic setup. I have used the Nova System, had a quickplay around on the G-System in my local store. The other guys in the band have the G-Force rack and the G-Major rack effects. They sound great

  • I really like your style men..

it started with a pretty hard riff ... but you used that pedal beautifully to get a Hard-rock song I dig a lot.

I haven't heard the whole song or the band, but I can tell you... you already have a fan here in Mexico. Blessings

  • Thank you. The full track is owrth checking out. Lots of layered guitar parts and effects

  • Noticed you have a Boss GT-6. I sold mine as I couldn't get on with it. Will definitely be buying myself one of these OD-3s.

  • Thats Quite a big stash of pedals, lol

  • i have that pedal

  • They are fairly comparable, the BD-2 is a little smoother and can deliver slightly higher gain tones. The OD-3 is less versatile in my opinion. I can get tones I get with the OD-3 from the BD-2, but the opposite is not try, I can get tones with the BD-2 that the OD-3 cannot achieve

  • Yeh I use it in both my bands. I dont use this exact setting when using this pedal. For the demos of this pedal I basically used the named and suggested Boss Instruction manual settings. I play in a band with 3 guitarists so you need to be very wary of the frequency spectrum and where my guitar sits in the mix, so probably would use a setting with much more high end.

I prefer the BD-2 to be honest. More versatile

  • I really love this riff, can you please film a close up on how to play it? i am too inexperienced to find it out by myself.

  • Probably not, dont have alot of time at the moment so you'd be waiting a while. Its basically an F#m with the bass note changing to G and E.

  • omg i hate this riff... lmao sorry

  • Listen to it within the ocntext of the song its from and then make your opinion. If you still hate it then.....win some lose some.

  • I have this pedal and personally i love it! i think it can sound a bit to transparent at times to use on its own i mostly use it as a boost pedal for solos so i was thinking of coupling it with a tube over drive or something, probably behringer's new vintage one so i don't break the bank. let me know what you think.

oh and by the way wolfgar926 you are a dumb ass

  • Difficult to predict how it will sound mixing those pedals to be honest. Depends on your amp and guitat etc. Best advice is to try before you buy

  • you sir have alot of fucking pedals haha.

do you use all of them?

  • Yup everyone is there for a reason

  • Sounds like Nirvana's Breed

  • DAMN! TUNE YOUR GUITAR!! DUDE......

  • Its perfectly in tune.

  • lol, hes a fuckin dumb ass

  • Indeed

  • hahahahaha, wow

  • was the whole demo done with the bridge pickup?

  • Yup, entire video recorded using the bridge pickup which is a Seymour Duncan JB

  • Looks like you need a pedal board mate ;)

  • He needs a couple lol

  • Did you replace the tuners on that Epi or did they come standard with that model? I've put some Gotoh Kluson-style tuners on my Epi myself, but I'm not sure I'm actually really fond of them.

  • Some came with grover tuners already, a few I had to replace them myself. Defo worth the investment

  • NICE, are overdrive pedals good on powerchords? :o (i play alternative/punk/rock/blues ect) Im lookin for better clarity on barre/open and double stop chords but i want to get more oomph on powerchords. This pedal any good for that? :o

  • Erm, yeh its decent for that kinda of tone. Use with your amps power amp well driven, with less gain from the pre amp section of your amp. Then dial in enough bite from the Overdrive pedal to give you the extra "oomph" your after

  • thnx, i guess ill get an overdrive and experiment

  • is your name craig? I really like your music. But where the hell have you got all the money to buy 1000 guitars stomp boxes, what do you do for a living???

    all the best Berher

  • Yup. I worked hard to buy all that stuff. I am an Optometrist

  • Wow! Really? I would have never guessed! You must be very smart as well as talented. You have inspired me!

  • cool ... =p

  • How would you compare this pedal to the Boss SD-1 or tubescreamer-esque pedals?

  • Wouldn't having such a large linked pedal train suck your tone dry?

  • It would indeed if they were linked in series. I have a Gig Rig Pro 14 switching system, so only the pedal in use it actually in the guitars signal path

  • Hmm... Quite the collection, but no Fender? U gotta add some teles and Jazz masters

  • jesus, how do u afford all this equipment and high end guitars?

Great sound though, i just bought the OD-3 overdrive and it is great.

  • sounds awesome!

  • you should add some more effects. not enough useless pedals yet. lol. Just kidding i like your sounds.:) Do you like nirvana?

  • Thanks. I like Nirvana yeh, dont listen to them often, wouldnt put them in my top ten bands, but I liked them when I was younger yeh

  • this guy has atleast 12,000 worth of gear. your riff sounds nasty, i like it

  • why dont you sell some of ya epiphones and buy a gibson

  • My main guitar is a PRS Singlecut, which I preferred to any Gibson LP i tried when buying it. I dont like the chambered bodies of new Gibson LP's.

I also have to defend Epiphones, if you choose one wisely then make a few modifications they are surprisngly decent.

  • I like the PRS guitars for sure. But i really think the upper level les pauls are best for sustain. Try the vos 58/59 reissues.

  • Iv tried a few reissuses, myself and the guitar tech I used werent so keen on the batch my local store had when I bought my PRS. The sustain on my PRS is near enough infinite thru my boogie, weighs a ton but worth it for the tone. I do like Les Pauls, was always my fav guitar, but recent build quality aint great for the money IMO

  • How about some pat martino licks? Just a little vibrato and a bit of reverb?

  • totally dont need all that.... and all the money you spend on your epiphones combined you could of bought a bad gibson...

  • I have a PRS Singlecut as my main guitar. Epiphones are my alternative tuning guitars, and I happily defend them, they can be very decent guitars with a few basic modifications. I use evry piece of gear on my pedal board, hence the reason i purchased each unit and placed it in the signal chain.

  • o well i didnt know all that so i am sorry..

  • wow you have a lot of gear :O

  • this sounds like a lame/dodgy question, but with a 70's LP custom pickup in the bridge of a jagmaster+OD3 will i get a tone close ish maybe to buzz Osbourne from the Melvins?

-sorry its such a lame Q

  • Not sure to be honest

  • hey where can you get the gig rig pro 14??

  • Order direct from the gig rig website. speak to daniel from gig rig first hes excellent, massive wealth of knowledge

  • to many pedals hooked up...ur tone from ur amp isnt natural anymore its all digital.

  • Not true. The Gig Rig Pro 14 removes all pedals that are not in use. So essentially this demo goes from straight into the amp, then one pedal is turned. So ur hearing a vinatge tube amp, then a vintage tube amp with one pedal in front. So your ears aint too good

  • so all your pedals are being disabled besides ur od3? and ive realized that when having to much pedals sure its funa dn you can make weird sounds but your not showing the true power of your amp if you relying on so many pedals..thats why i have only a vox wha,od3,ns2,phase 90,carbon copy and fulltone 70. just keep it simple.

  • Yup, the Gig Rig Pro 14 is an all analog switching unit. So only the pedal that is in use is actually in the signal chain. So despite having 20 pedals on my board my signal is purer than urs with ur 6 pedals. I also run two Gig Rig Humdingers to buffer the signal and george L cables. I can hit one button and run my guitar straight into ether my Boogie of my Hiwatt, no pedals in the signal chain at all.

  • I have more pedals than him!!!

    (God, please hear me =P)

  • sorry...about that...

    i see.....

    you must work hell lot....

    i mean...those things...dont cost little!

  • rich boy...

  • Not at all! I hate that people assume that. I worked my ass off working part time in a shop at weekends and playing in paying in bands in the evenings, whilst studying full time at university during the day to afford this stuff.

  • I hear that! i work my ass off in a supermarket for gear too! that along with college, makes a hell of a long time to get any decent gear!! patience makes perfect i guess..... by the way ur probably the best guitar player ive heard for a while dude. great tone.

  • What kind of guitars do you have? I like the blue the one. :D

might buy me one. from what I've seen so far your band must be sweet.

  • My main guitar is a PRS Singlecut. The ones on the wall there are all modified Epiphone Les Pauls.

Check my band out there are loads of videos etc online.

  • why have so many pedals?

  • Why not

  • whats the point of having like 30 boss pedals? turn them all on at once lets see how it sounds.

  • Jesus! It probably takes 10 minutes from the signal of your guitar to get to your amp! lol

  • Hahah, ud think. The Gig Rig controller switches all the pedals for me. So only the pedal I am using is actually in the signal pathway.

  • you have the bigest effects setup that i ever seen before

  • the electric company must love you....your meter must be spinning like a top!

  • that is one big ass pedalboard

  • nvm i just noticed the controller lol

  • you can't be running all those at the same time??!??!?

  • nicee sound dud! n_n

  • im just starting out and i need a pedl for metallica sound but nothing to expensive message me if you have a good idea

  • hey well idk bout where u live but in the meijers where i live theres an overdrive pedal for $40 but i havent tried it myself so idk but its pretty cheap im guessing. but itll prolly suck.

  • im guessing either your from Michigan or the Midwest.

  • west michigan :D

  • we all love hummbuckers put like in 7 guitars you have your missing a strat

  • So you have all those expensive pedals and amps but you play epiphones lol?

  • Main guitar is a PRS Singlecut. I have several epiphones with various modifications. I like them, they are decent if you upgrade the electronics. Hit and miss in terms of manufacturing quality, but can be oood. They make for some decent backup guitars

  • umm.... and so what?

  • Go away.

  • hey man, was that riff you played 0:26 - 0:36 completely clean?

  • Yup

  • ah cool, thanks ^_^

  • man it sounds like a distortion rather than a overdrive

  • epiphone les paul standard right?

  • Yup u guessed right. its in the video annotations

  • wht do u mean by wht amp are you using?

i want to learn more about tht...

  • Im lost, what are we talking about?

  • Craig you got some great rhythm there! Love your sound. I'm going to be picking up an OD-3 in next couple days. There great for scooping mids unlike tube screamers . Actually there the complete opposite. My rig is sooo mid driven its nuts.

  • hi!!, you play guitar very well.

in this video, are you just using OD-3??or anything else??

  • Its all in the Video Description. Only pedal in use is the OD-3, its controlled by my gigrig pro 14

  • thats an epiphone right? Sounds quite amazing for one tho.. did you add like serymour duncans or gibson pickups?

  • Yeh this is one of my backup guitars. It is an epiphone, it has seymour duncan pickups, and upgraded wiring and electronics. Sounds nice

  • what the difference between overdrive and normal gain?

  • Overdrive pedals can be used to boost the gain of your guitar signal before it hits the pre amp of ur amplifier, thus be used to push the tubes harder and coz a change in the tone.

  • can you use the od-3 on top of existing gain to compress and add tone? Thats basically all im looking for.

    Thanks.

  • Yes. There are better pedals for those tho

  • oh man, look at all those peadls... YEH!! :)

  • i know right! i wish i had all of those lol

  • I want a les paul so badly but they're so expensive too bad =(

  • Explain me somthing, If you put all your favorite pedals, like 4 distiortions, 2 overdrives and stuff.... it can make your own nice style sound? (im pretty new at the pedals stuff and i want to build my own sound).

and how can I turn all pedals of in one press to a clean sound?

    thanks!

  • I use a Gig Rig Pro 14 anolog switching unit to turn my pedal on and off, meaning one pedal can turn on/off all my pedals.

Yup its just a case of expermenting with pedals to find 'your sound' but its also very much in the fingers aswell

  • wow thank you!

im a lil bit new at this effects stuff, so tell me, why wont you buy a multi effect insted all those thing, its much easier no? (Im asking cause i want to know if i need to keep buying single effects)

    thanks!!

  • It depends on what your looking to do. I do own multi effects but they colour the tone of my tube amps so I use single fx when using those amps. So really depends what amp ur using, hoe many effects your talking about using and the level at which your playing. But is very much down to personal preference really.

  • hello!!i play mostly rock (a lot of van halen and led zepp), and a bit of blues and jazz...i have never used stomp boxes before..i used to own a shit zoom effect which i sold off coz it makes me sound terrible.can u suggest me a fair number of stomp boxes that i can buy? i am thinking of a boss od-3, a big muff, super chorus, compression sustainer, mxr-phase 90, a digital delay and a cry baby..is it all the effects that i need??

ps. i own a 10watt shit tube amp

  • Better spending your money on a decent tube amp to be honest if you playing straight up rock. Get the base rock tone nailed with your amp. The buy a boost pedal (SPF Ego Booster, Exotic BB Pre Amp) for soloing, then a delay pedal also for lead work (analog or digital? look at a few see which suits u best). Then a wah. Sustainers I dont like. Compressors are good for clean sounds (Keeley Compressor is good) as are chorus pedals (TC Electronic). Then extras like phasers if ud like

  • thanks dude...jst checkd out the stuffs as u sed...i think ill go for exotic bb pre amp, a boss digital delay, a holy grail reverb and the tc electronic chorus pedal sounds great too....have u ever tried one of boss's chorus pedals??i heard they r really great...btw im planning to get a orange tiny terror amp..have u tried any of these?

  • I own Boss CE-5 Chorus, its OK. I have about 6 demos vids of it on youtube, i prefer my tc electronic chorus tho.

Orange tiny terror i have used once, sounded great.

  • thanks dude...hope to get my tiny terror once im in england...cheers

  • thats lots

  • You gotta post a clip with every single one of your boxes turned on 10-- then hit a huge E power chord and listen for the car alarms going off. That would be awesome!

  • Hahah not sure if thats a good idea! I like having he ability to hear!

  • he probably would crank it up to 11

  • motherfucker i want all your stuff

  • pretty sick for a little pedal.

  • man you have so many pedals .

how much has it cost ?

    everything ?

  • No idea, have bought it over a couple of years. Quite alot I would think.

  • tht's gotta be giving some signal loss going through that many pedals

  • danimal511: well, but therefore you've got tons of effects ;)

  • Are u playing though bridge or neck pickup, or both?

  • Bridge pickup in this vid dude.

  • are the seymour duncan pickups better than the original pickups that were in your les paul? i have an epiphone les paul silverburst and i would like to change the pick ups to the seymour duncans and i was wondering if its easy or difficult to change them?

  • Yup the Seymour Duncans make a HUGE improvement to your tone from the original pickups.

Its a relatively easy thing to do, although if your not experienced it would be in your interests to hav ur local stores guitar tech replace the pickups.

  • what kind of seymour duncans are you using?

  • On that guitar its a JB in the bridge and '58 in the neck

  • I plan on buying the sh-4 JB for the bridge and for the neck either a sh-2N or the sh-1 59. Do you know what the difference is between those two neck pick ups?

  • the 59 is a bit hotter and round sounindg than the sh2, i think the sh2 was disigned for clean sounds, wich it does exelent btw.

  • i realized in the video i mean i know it probably sounds different in person kinda sounds like my blues driver keeley modded

  • the od3 seems more on the heavier distortion overdrive i have the od 2 super overdrive its niceer for me lighter for me to what i play but i like my other ibanez tube screamers 9tsdx keeley modded special =]

  • This is a demo with the gain at max dude, the OD-3 does range from light clipping to full overdrive of your tubes, its fairly versatile, but by no means my first choice overdrive pedal.

The Keeley mods r awesome, i love my Keeley mod MT-2, which I thought I would never say as the stock MT-2 sounds awful.

  • Hey man! Your demos have helped me alot dude. I love your song "Napolean Complex" I noticed one of your bandmates owns a Mesa Roadking. Im looking to purchase one in the future but im uncertain about the clean channel. If I do get one, i proboably would set channel 3 and 4 to a low gain setting because of my dist./od pedals. Just wondering if you could possibly demo the Roadking fat/clean channel and then run your OD-3 through it. That would really help me out man.

  • Theres no point buying a RK if you're not going to run at least one channel on the heavy saturated Recto sound. Pedal boosting both 3 and 4 would defeat the purpose of buying a RK altogether, not to mention the fact that the cleans are average at best, hence Craig's Rectifier/Hiwatt for cleans setup. If you want to go down the road of pedal driving, check out craigs MT-2 demo thru the HiWatt. The only reason I would use pedals with the RKs heavy channels would be to smooth out the tone for leads

  • Makes sence. After hearing that im leaning towards a Lonestar and running my pedals for the crunch and distorted sounds. Thanks.

  • Yeh I agree with meemauk, the Roakings channel 3 and 4 are designed to be brutal! If yor looking for lighter gain with a nice clean then the Lonestar is the perfect choice, the clean is ridiculously good, and the overdrives are warm and musical.

  • FYI if your looking to get OCD there more distortion box than overdrive. Ive got one on my board right now. I basically got it to give me more of an Marshall tone. The OD-3 is a lot more transparent.

  • i just picked up the od-3 very impressed with how ballsy and open ended it sounded infact i just took my tube screamer off the board which way mid driven for my taste. The od-3 sounds hell of alot more natural less compressed. Dig the riff your playing good stuff!

  • you must be super rich to have all of that..

    lucky

  • Nop not rich, just worked my ass off few a few years dude.

  • how much was the multi effects line 6 floorboard thing?

  • Stop asking prices for everything dude. Just google it. As I said in the other videos, prices in the UK are completly different to every other country, so no point in discussing it. The Line 6 floorboard inst a multi effects, its just the controller for my practice amp.

  • Hi, can someone tell me the difference between Overdrive and Distortion? I have a (ultra) distortion pedal, but overdrive sounds cooler. The overdrive on my amp only seems to boost up the volume. So I still don't know what the difference between the two is...

  • Errrm in short: Distortion is really just clipping, it cuts off the extreme highs and lows. In other words, it eliminates the highest highs and lowest lows, therefore creating a distortion effect.

Unlike Distortion, Overdrive is just a gain setting that is set higher than the chip.tube can handle, therefore creating a slightly 'distorted' sound. Like when the clean channel on your amp will become overdriven when you crank it all the way up.

  • holy shit. that is a nice chain of pedals dude.

  • what do u think of the hiwatt amp? how does it compare to a marshall?
