Barry is a top 20 all time player, and THE BEST player in the steroid era. Yes he cheated, but Bud Selig promoted and did NOTHING to stop a league were one was forced to cheat in order to compete.
The only dangerous thing about Bonds now is the poisonous attitude that he'll bring to a clubhouse. Can you imagine how many rings that man would've won had he been a team player?
if he play's, it will be for an american league team that could really use a left handed power hitter in the middle of the line up. He'll probably come to the mairners or the blue jays.
some one needs to pick up this guy i dont care if he did steriod or not a team needs to make some money off he's ass do you know the how the Stadium # well go up the roof if he go to a team pick him now what do all of you think?
IF Bonds gets picked up, and that's a big IF, then it will with a team that needs a DH. It will be a team that is contending for the pennant. Otherwise, it will be a big waste of time! Get real.
He may be on field liability, but he's said repeatedly he doesn't want to be only a hired gun with no on-field time. I respect that kind of old school mentality because the DH is still plain old sacrelige. I'd live with him playing left if he can put runs on the board.
Fair enough...you may be right. I have my thoughts about the DH as well..but for him and limitations, it would just seem to give him the potential to last a bit longer.
He can still hit...but playing in the outfield significantly increases his chances for injury. We'll see though...lots of time this baseball season for it to get interesting.
Convicted felon's don't play MLB.
