@ZyZy1234Windowslive That's precisely the point! He doesn't need a dog for it to be amusing! I see you're from Russia, so obviously the language barrier is preventing you from grasping the subtleties of humor in the English language.
@ZyZy1234Windowslive No, I'm not. My location says Qatar, which is not in Somalia. Geez, get a map! And even that's a lie--I'm from the United States. @Xsniper90X haha brilliant. Never expected that to turn up here... I'm thinking that no-one's really been far even as decided to use even go want to do sound more like Richter. Never!
one of the best interpretation ever, definitely the best I've heard. Being a huge fan of Horowitz, from the available recordings of this etude have to accept Richter plays it better
Chopin Revolutionary Etude created, noise because he could not return to Polish because of illness. He wrote this song to buoy up of his countrymen - the Poles in the fight against colonization. You can see how much he loved his homeland - Poland.
I don't know if this has been said, but the reason why he's moving like he's having a spasm is because that's what your body does when you are playing piano and you are so involved in the music -- he is not retarded. Watch any talented pianist who is passionate about the piece they are playing and they'll move exactly like that.
@TheImpressionnant I think it's not that much about emotions. It's about building up the climaxes. What you see here is technique, not Lang Lang - ish showiness. Richter's body was simply extremely responsive to any musical idea, and was fully involved in producing the best possible sound. That's why he looks so athletic and elastic.
Amazing performance! But why was it called the Revolutionary Etude? And did Chopin give it that name himself? He was very conservative politically (almost medieval in fact) so it seems odd for him to call it that.
@susumu07 Chopin named it that in honour of the failed Revolutionaries whom he was friends with who participated in the failed Polish Revolution from Russian occupation. He composed it to show how he felt about the defeat.
