You do know that the long tone means get the hell in the house don't think that's not a drill if it were to be a test it would be nice outside if not the test would be relocated to a nice day but still get in the house
I grew up in Union City Oklahoma and the siren at the fire house was used for both fire calls and for tornado warnings. If you heard the long steady blast it meant get your ass to the school and get in the basement or get in the basement at your house.
My dream is to sit in my house with black clouds and hear the tornado sirens....
Too bad I live in south florida....
It's so unfair, in south Florida we have alotbf tornadoes, more than some places that have sirens but we don't have sirens. We had two tornadoes come close to our house and one was an EF-2 (this year)
hey lady,"where is it " lady you may not fuckign see it till your dead, and also sirens can be sounded for strong winds, happend here in Fargo ND many times in 2011
this sound makes my dog howl and it is also quite scary what do you do if you hear this sound x is it really loud xx if you was asleep would it wake you up x
Those sirens give you chills down your spine now that I think of it. How many tornado sirens are sounding in this video, and as a request can you make a test video?
@cooliesass i'm in south louisiana. it's probably same for us too. real bad storms in the spring. though the summer produces some pretty bad 10 minute to an hour storms due to me being an hour away from the gulf.
@Naturalheals actually you dont see them VERY OFTEN as oklahoma. every year on a rare day...it still happens somwere in California but rare not common.
Have you seen much wild weather out there in Oklahoma, being in tornado alley and all? I've seen some wild weather around my house, and it snuck up during the day, knocking our electricity out. I was in my basement when the power went out, but I wasn't even scared! You've got to be brave to see some wild weather where you are, being about 60 miles east northeast of Oklahoma City. I believe the wild weather I experienced happened during the summer on a rainy day as I remember it.

Ouranos94 10 months ago
great video! those sirens sound very creepy. I can tell you the type of sirens if you want.
1. Aca Alertor 125 (the low and duel toned siren)
2. I think it is a whelen wps-3016 (the high pitched one that is also dueled-toned)
3. federal signal model 2 or 5, I can't remember but their is a single toned siren in the system.
trainguy2020 10 months ago
@trainguy2020 close, the siren that you thought was a Whelen WPS 3016 is actually a modulator. otherwise, I hear the same sirens you identified.

@Naturalheals I think we are approximately 60 miles ENE from Oklahoma City.
I've lived here all my life. Severe weather happens in this area at any time of the year, but most often in the early Spring.
Thanks for watching. :)

wicked clouds and cool siren, i got to hear one of those last night.
pieater53 1 year ago
@pieater53 yeah, it was pretty cool.
I turned the camera straight-up at times to make sure it wasn't swirling above my head...lol
The storm appeared to dissipate shortly after the siren quit sounding.
We got slightly over 2 inches of rain here...the yard's like a sopping sponge...lol...so I sure am glad the mowin' got done before it hit.
