OK if don't like the song. Who cares? It's called 'taste' and it is no fucking consequence to anyone else really whether you like this or that version. Personally, I find one the things that makes this version so enjoyable is the kid's vocals. Genius touch. Kids sing joyfully about the merits of a strong alcoholic drink. Reminds me a little of the Smiths track 'Panic' where you have lots of teenybopper happily chanting 'hang the DJ'. Fucking hilarious :)

This song destroyed Terrorvision, not just for me (although it did) but their whole careers went down the pan after this embarrassment. Terrorvision were a good solid serious rock band, with a massive fun side about them too, but they pushed it way too far with this. The easy money for a cheesy pop song basically erased all their previous hard work, and most of that work was brilliant. They are now remembered for this shit. Still going to see them tomorrow night though!

@Hiatusuk Thing is... from what I understand, this was an (apparently officially sanctioned!) remix of the original song. Because damned if I didn't nearly brown my pants when I saw the song on a karaoke list - and got blindsided by the original.

And while an awesome remix for fun (watch the band), it didn't kill the thrill; I had to hear this song and research to find out about the awesome. And I'm damned glad I did.

@Hiatusuk yeah as has been pointed out, when you are on EMI and a remix is being played to death on the radio, it's gonna be put out whether you like it or not. TV will happily admit themselves that the only reason this got to number two was because it's the type of crap you hear on the radio. they had virtually no support from EMI at this point, aside from when EMI basically had no choice but to put this out (as they knew it would sell as a result of Zoe Balls ridiculous airplay).
