actually he plays the capo on the 7th fret because its B tuning...Dave plays this song in B and his guitar is specially strung for B tuning...Which is why 98% of people on Youtube play this song with a Capo on the 7th fret, because its the only way to get the same sound...it has nothing to do with the guys voice....On another note...Well done my friend

Wow awesome cover dude. Very good especially since English is not your first language - can hear the accent at a few places but still sounds great! Yeah you can change the key of any song you are covering.. That's why its called a "cover."

Second of all its not played with a capo, its played in a different tuning, Dave Matthews doesn't use capos in any of his songs..

Lastly if you are in normal tuning to get the same key as Dave's you need to put the capo on the 7th fret

you sir are wrong, dave uses a special, well i dont know if you want to call it special, but anyway its called abaritone guitar, look it up on wikipedia if your interested!

Baritone guitars are scaled 27.5-29 instead of the typical 24.5-25.5, allowing them to tune at lower pitch, not higher. His baritone is not used on this song. Dave never uses a capo. His high string is a standard guitar with high strings on it to allow it to tune standard at a 7th above normal pitch. Think about it - baritone is a deeper voice, not higher. It's actually really cool. The capo gives it the same effect, but it's not how DM plays it is all I was saying. Cheers!

Dave has like 3 guitars each tuned different. Dave doesnt use capos at all he has different guitars for different tunings. Like "Stay or leave", "Oh", etc. =)

If you don't want to use a capo, you have to re-string your guitar to Raised B tuning and that's a pain. It sounds the same if you play it Standard with a capo on the 7th fret.

Stay or Leave was very good. Though, the "Oh" intro needs a lot of work I think. The vocals seem kinda off, and the fingerins look different than Dave's.

You also might want to try tuning to Raised B. I find it much easier to use than Capo 7

All in all, great performance!

Raised B will damage my guitar. Even Dave plays it with capo now-a-days! (sister, oh, etcetera)
